2. LIFE FALLS
APART It happens when I my
nervous, when I am
tired, or even when I am
having my greatest and
deepest thoughts, like
that long drag on the
cigarette that we don’t
get anymore.
3. If only they
were stuck
to me!!
Aaargh!
What
happened to
my
my glasses!!
I can’t find my
cell phone.
4. It’s a Poetry Talk
When I’m nervous,
tired, out of sorts
Or having my most
awesome thoughts
I put it there,
somewhere,
my cell phone
and then my
glasses!!
5. Soo bad..my image is slammed
Humbled to helpless hopelessness – be
dammed.
6. Chewing gum:
I am working it
A soft sweet lump between my teeth
Sticky: stick that stays and stays
Its ways of staying we’ll never know
Years later we see it on sidewalks, on the chair,
Under school desks, on the street everywhere.
7. It’s never far away,
Just keep it in my mouth all day.
A flip of the tongue, slap to the back of the phone
And stick it there – to my belt, the wall, my vinyl
purse.
I won’t forget. The juicy sweet seeping into my
mouth
The wad of gum, feeding my hungry anxiety.
8. So I know where I put the phone
Or my glasses, stuck to my arm, or collar bone
What would I do without my phone
And glasses to see whose home
Another piece of gum will do, can’t get enough
To be the glue that keeps my life stuck
together
Gramma – What is that funny thing stuck on your head?
