4. INTRODUCTION OF GOD
GOD is a good and powerful spirit being who created all
things, who cares about us, who cares about what we do,
who is involved in our lives, and who offers us an eternity
with his goodness.
5. IDEAS OF GOD
• God is the uncaused cause of all things
• God is a supernatural spiritual personality
• God is all perfect
• God is the ultimate source of values
• God is the Supreme moral governor and Guardian of
justice
• God is an object of worship
7. ARGUMENTS AGAINST EXISTENCE OF GOD
Argument from materialism
Everything in this world is the manifestation of matter and motion.
The whole world is also the outcome of matter and motion.
So there is no scope of any spiritual entity like God.
8. ARGUMENTS AGAINST EXISTENCE OF GOD
Argument from Psychology
God is an idea
An idea which is fabricated with the feeling of wonder, fear,
helplessness and dependency.
So man has created the idea of God
9. ARGUMENTS AGAINST EXISTENCE OF GOD
Injustice
Pain & Sufferings
Birth of autistic, physically handicapped & transgender children
Death of innocent children
Sufferings of honest people & enjoyment of dishonest people
10. ARGUMENTS TOWARDS EXISTENCE OF GOD
The Ontological Argument
God is “a being than which nothing greater can be conceived”
This idea of absolute being is not only in mind but also exists in
reality.
This perfect being entails the self-existence.
11. ARGUMENTS TOWARDS EXISTENCE OF GOD
Cosmological Argument
First cause argument.
Everything that exists has a cause of its existence.
The universe has a cause of its exist.
If the universe has a cause of its existence, then that cause is GOD.
Therefore, GOD exists.
12. ARGUMENTS TOWARDS EXISTENCE OF GOD
Teleological Argument
The design of universe gives us the message that there is a divine
designer
Analogy of watch
Therefore, the works of nature were probably the products of a
grand designer—one much more powerful and intelligent than a
human designer.
13. ARGUMENTS TOWARDS EXISTENCE OF GOD
Moral Argument
Implementation of perfect justice
All good deeds are not rewarded and all bad works are not
punished in this world
As GOD is the perfect judge, hereafter is required for perfect
judgement.
14. RELATION BETWEEN GOD & WORLD
There consist two types of relations between GOD & WORLD
1. Transcendent
2. Immanent
Transcendent God: God created the world and then left it.
Immanent God : God created the world and exists within the
world.
15. RELATION BETWEEN GOD & WORLD
Deism
The belief of transcendent God.
It is an idea that God is an external designer that now has no interest
in ‘His’ creation
God creates the world and endows it with necessary forces and laws
of motion and then the world goes on according to its own laws,
God remaining outside the scene.
God intervenes whenever the world goes wrong and sets it aright.
16. RELATION BETWEEN GOD & WORLD
Pantheism(God-is-all-ism)
Believing in immanent God .
An identification of god with the physical universe.
Everything is part of God, every event is divine operation.
All is God and God is all.
17. RELATION BETWEEN GOD & WORLD
Panentheism (Everything-in-God-ism)
The combination of deism and pantheism.
God is both transcendent and immanent.
The belief that GOD is within everything.
All in God but God is more than that all.
