Domestic Violence
Course Description:
This theory course looks at definitions of domestic violence, myths and statistics, reasons why it
isdifficult to leave an abusive relationship, indicators of domestic violence and how to provide
support to those affected. The course presents an awareness of domestic violence in a format
that is both easy to digest and apply to the work environment. It will benefit all employees who
work within a health & social care environment.
Successful completion of the training will give learners the under-pinning knowledge of
aggression and violence. It will enable learners to understand the above learning outcomes and
be able to implement those outcomes within their working environment.

Course Outline:
• Demonstrate a better Understanding of Domestic Violence
• To describe different types of abuse
• Have an understanding of the statistics and myths surrounding domestic violence
• Have an understanding of reasons why it is difficult to leave an abuse relationship
• To be able to describe indicators of abuse
• Demonstrate knowledge of the impact of domestic violence
• To gain an understanding of the appropriate action to be taken in cases of domestic
violence
• Have learned about multi agency response to domestic violence
• Demonstrate an understanding of accountability and responsibility in relation to domestic
violence
• Have gained knowledge of local and national domestic violence support services

Course Duration:
3hrs

Assessment:
The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment during the course

Certification:
All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance

Location:
The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues
Maximum number of delegates per trainer is 15

Understanding Domestic Violence Training Courses/Qualification

  • 1. Understanding Domestic Violence Course Description: This theory course looks at definitions of domestic violence, myths and statistics, reasons why it isdifficult to leave an abusive relationship, indicators of domestic violence and how to provide support to those affected. The course presents an awareness of domestic violence in a format that is both easy to digest and apply to the work environment. It will benefit all employees who work within a health & social care environment. Successful completion of the training will give learners the under-pinning knowledge of aggression and violence. It will enable learners to understand the above learning outcomes and be able to implement those outcomes within their working environment.
