name suggests. Masala is prepared for it which includes onion, tomato, ginger, garlic,

Methi and matar are the main and special winter veggies, which we include in most of the
recipes. So this time, let's prepare a special recipe and impress everyone. I love the gravy

Ingredients description for methi matar malai
Green peas - Here I am boiling the green peas for 1-2 whistles for making them soft. You
can use fresh or frozen for making this recipe.
Fenugreek leaves - I am using fresh Fenugreek leaves after washing. Also finely
chopped them. We have to use 250g Fenugreek leaves. It's enough for gravy for 5-6
people.
Fresh cream - I am using cream 100g. You can also use malai which is form after
boiling the milk, at home. here, I am also using cream for garnishing.
For the gravy - we are using, onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, cashew nuts, and many
other powdery spices. Also, we are using khada garam masala cloves, green cardamom,
cumin seeds, bay leaf, javitri.
It's an amazing restaurant-style methi matar malai recipe. A must-try recipeݤ.
How to cook methi matar malai?
Add 2 teaspoon oil in a wok. Fry for 7-8 min and stir it. Remove it on a plate.
Boil the green peas in a pressure cooker for 1-2 whistles. Remove them from water. We
are boiling it for making it soft. You can also cook methi and matar together in the wok,
but it takes time.
In the same wok, add 2 tablespoon oil. Fry 2 cloves, green cardamom, 1/2 teaspoon cumin
seeds, bay leaf, javitri. Then add 4 chopped onions, 1 bulb garlic, ginger.
Fry till the onion becomes light brown. Then add 8-10 cashew nuts and 3 chopped
tomatoes. Add four main powdery spices i.e. coriander powder, red chilly powder,
turmeric powder and salt according to your taste. Cook till tomato becomes soft.
Cooldown the masala and make a fine paste by adding water.
Again in the same wok, add 2 tablespoon oil, pour the prepared masala. Add 1/2 glass
water. Mix it and stir it. You can add all powdery spices at this stage also.

Add fried methi and boiled matar,
mix it well. After 5-6 min add 100g
malai/ cream. Mix it well. Let it
cook for 2-3 min.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves
and malai.

500g green peas
5 tablespoon oil
250g Fenugreek leaves (methi)
2 cloves, green cardamom
1 javitri
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
4 onion
1 bulb garlic
1 piece of ginger
3 tomato
10-12 cashew nuts
1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri red chilly powder
1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder

Salt(acc to taste)
100g cream
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
Procedure for methi matar malai( with pictures)
Step1- In pressure cooker, boil the green peas for 2 whistles. Remove from water when
pressure releases.
Step2- cut and chopped the
Fenugreek leaves. Add 1 tablespoon
oil to a pan and fry for 7-8 min. Stir
continuously. Remove it.
Step3- In the same pan, add 2
tablespoon oil. Add cloves, green
cardamom, javitri, bay leaf, cumin
seeds. Stir till their flavor releases.
Add onion, ginger-garlic. Mix well
Step4- when the onion turns light
brown. Add cashew nuts and
tomato.
Step5- Add all powdery spices
mention above. when tomato
become soft, make a paste of it, add
little water as well.
Step6- In the same wok, add 2
tablespoon oil and add paste which
you just grinded. Add 1/2 glass
water.
Step7- Add green peas and fried Fenugreek leaves. mix it, and cook for 4-5 min.

leaves and cream. mix it.
Points to remember
1. You can also cook matar &
methi together. It takes time
that's why I cook both
separately.

spices, according to your
taste.
3. Instead of cream, malai can
be used.
