There are two types of cancers – carcinomas and sarcomas.
Carcinoma means “malignant tumor” and refers to malignant tumors
that begin in the epithelial (skin) cells.
Sarcoma means “tumor of connective tissue” and refers to tumors that
begin in connective tissue, muscle, cartilage, fat, bone, or other soft
tissue.
