The questions in the study focus on collecting family histories, symptoms, and secondary challenges associated with disabilities.
Taser international, inc. v. ward court of appeals of arizon
1. Taser International, Inc. v. Ward
Court of Appeals of Arizona, Division 1, 224 Ariz. 389, 231
P.3d 921 (2010).
Facts
Taser International, Inc., develops and makes electronic control
devices—stun guns—as well as
accessories for them, including a personal video and audio
recording device called the TASER
CAM.
Steve Ward was Taser’s vice president of marketing when he
began to explore the possibility of
developing and marketing devices of his own design, including
a clip-on camera. Ward talked to
patent attorneys and a product development company and
completed most of a business plan.
After he resigned from Taser, Ward formed Vievu, LLC, to
market his clip-on camera. Ten
months later, Taser announced the AXON, a product that
provides an audio-video record of an
incident from the visual perspective of the person involved.
Taser then filed a suit in an Arizona
state court against Ward, alleging that he had breached his duty
2. of loyalty to Taser. The court
granted Taser’s motion for a summary judgment in the
employer’s favor. Ward appealed.
Issue
Can an employee, while working at a company, research and
develop a device to use in
competition with the company’s products?
Decision
No. A state intermediate appellate court agreed with Taser that
an employee may not actively
compete with his employer before his employment is
terminated. But the parties disputed the
extent of Ward’s pre-termination efforts, creating a genuine
issue of material fact that could
not be resolved on a motion for summary judgment. The
appellate court thus reversed the
lower court’s decision in Taser’s favor and remanded the case
for further proceedings.
Reason
An agent has a duty to act with good faith and loyalty for the
furtherance of the interests of his
principal in all matters concerning or affecting the subject of
his agency. One aspect of this
broad principle is that an employee is precluded from actively
3. competing with his or her
employer during the period of employment.
Although an employee may not actively compete prior to
termination, the court noted that an
employee can take certain actions to prepare for later
competition that are not otherwise
wrongful. Ward argued that his pre-termination activities did
not constitute active competition
but were merely lawful preparation for a future business
venture. The appellate court
concluded that this dispute was one that needed to be resolved
by a trial.
Critical Thinking Question
Critical Thinking
• Legal Environment Did Ward breach any duties owed to his
employer in addition to his
alleged breach of the duty of loyalty? Discuss.

4. Weekly Nursing Article Number Four
The article explored the care of nurses’ understanding and
interpretation of do-not-resuscitate (DNR) orders in relation to
caring for hospitalized adults with such an order, and examines
the meaning of DNR orders. Sometimes in a care setting a DNR
order means “do not treat” in this article we pay attention in
regards to nursing care. The method as to which the study and
design was brought about was a mixed method descriptive
study. It involved both an online survey, one to one interview in
person or interview about DNR perspective. It was located in a
hospital in south western United States. The research team was
four nurses, direct care nurses were selected due to the
frequency of DNR orders.
The nurses participating were given a question/case study with
directions. Each nurse did the question and additional questions
5. were asked when needed to delve deeper into the participants’
experience. Each nurse gave their opinion in the question case
and what they would do and why. Nurses gave clear definition
of DNR, but they described ambiguity and varying responses
when interpreting DNR orders in clinical practice. Also, nurses
identified situations in which health care team member did not
agree on the clinical implication and responsibilities of a DNR.
Family members played an important role in the decision of an
DNR. Most of the time, its really that the family member don’t
understand where the doctors are going with the treatment and a
family meeting is called so they understand that everyone is
trying to get the patient as comfortable as possible.
While the definition of DNR might seem straightforward, its
interpretation in clinical practice can be complicated. In this
study, most of the nurses understood the meaning of DNR. Yet
their interpretations often indicated clinical situations in which
a DNR order was misaligned with the plan of care or was
misinterpreted as replacing it.

6. Nursing Research and Evidence Based Practice
Steps for Research Process
In topic one, there was identification and development of the
topic. In this article, the researcher has written the causes of
cancer and how cancer can be treated. The main concepts which
are vital in the study are identified. There are symptoms,
treatment as well as ways that can be taken to contain cancer.
There was the testing of the keywords, and concepts were
searched from the relevant sources. The topic went down as it is
narrowing from the broad idea that was there on page 1.
The step was finding the background information. This was
after the identification of the keywords and the main topic.
There were many peer-reviewed sources on the subject which
was found. And all these sources have played a critical role in
ensuring that there is an understanding of the broader context.
These were the most and familiar used sources.
Study Type
The research utilized a Randomized controlled trial. This was to
know how effective cancer treatment was. This trial is the most
reliable and credible when one wants to get the best results.
This is because effects that come from cancer treatment are
compared to viable therapy; the trial showed what would happen
if we did not choose to have either cancer being diagnosed.
Purpose
The purpose of the research was to know the treatment,
diagnostic, and symptoms of cancer. There was also another
purpose of knowing whether the disease can be prevented and
7. maintained among potential patients.

Research Article Summary
A scalable collaborative project by Meijuan Cao, Shu Li, and
Xuejiao Zhu focus on evidence-based practice in community
nurses. This research article's main focus is on summarizing the
status of attitudes, facilitator, knowledge, implementation and
evidence-based practice barriers in community nurses (Shu Li,
8. 2019). The article states that evidence-based practice has been
adopted widely. Still, the attitude, knowledge and
implementation of EBP between community nurses and the
facilitators and barricade they regard have not been approved
precisely. As stated in the article, the study aims to answer the
questions concerning the status of attitude, knowledge and EBP
implementation in community nurses globally. Another question
is on what facilitators and barricades affect evidence-based
practice implementation of community nurses. The evaluation
conducted in the research proved to be quite bright and
promising. This study is a descriptive research type since it
focuses on answering the questions but not the why.
On the other hand, the preliminary results indicated that the
community nurses had a positive attitude toward evidence-based
practice, though insufficient knowledge and unprepared
implementation (Hannah C, 2017). In conclusion, from the
arguments above, it is evident that there is a need for i mproving
knowledge and evidence-based practice should be implemented
in community nurses compared with better attitudes. The
research article also provides a systematic finding that shows a
compelling need for improving knowledge and implementing
evidence-based practice. Also, it shows except education,
translating knowledge into execution requires more cooperation
with authorities to enhance the facilitators and reduce
barricades. According to the findings, the only way to deal with
the issue is through numerous teaching approaches like small
group exercise, literature search, article review, critique,
scenario simulation training and case studies that are promising
in improving EBP beliefs and knowledge.

CARE CORDINATION 2
Care coordination
Care coordination mainly involves the deliberate organizing of
the patient care activities as well as sharing of information
amongst all the participants who mainly are concerned with the
care that is given to patients so that they can achieve more
effective care (Gray, et al., 2020). This does mean that most of
the patients do need preferences that are known ahead of time
and that are communicated in a tight time to the right people
and hence this information will be used in providing appropriate
as well as care to the patients.
Care coordination mainly involves having deliberate organizing
of patient care activities as well as sharing of information
amongst the participants who are concerned with patients' care
so that they can achieve more and effective care (Gray, et al.,
2020). The main goal of care coordination is meeting the needs
of the patients and the preferences which should be delivered in
high-quality value healthcare. this means that the patients'
needs, as well as preferences, have to be communicated at the
right time as well as to the right people and hence this
information will be used to guide the delivery of safe and also
appropriate effective care.
Care coordination is said to be very important since it is a key
10. strategy that has a great potential of improving the effectiveness
safety as well as the efficiency of the health care system. To put
care coordination into better practice and action it is important
to apply changes in the general approach and also the daily
routines of the medical practices that can be overwhelming even
whenever it is obvious that the changes being made are going to
improve the care for the patients to provide efficiency.

Millions of Americans have been found to have been with
different forms of disabilities, which seem so severe that they
face many challenges when conducting their daily duties,
especially when going to work or taking care of themselves
(Jackson & Cernich, 2020). many research has found that many
people living with disabilities have been injured in accidents,
born with disabilities, deployed disabilities over time, or while
they have been affected during wars. Rehabilitation research
conducted by NIH focused on exploring the intricate biology of
disabilities. It perhaps sought to find lasting solutions in
11. restoring some of the lost functions and helping people living
with disabilities reach their full potential.
NIH's 5-year plan's main focus is to layout priorities in medical
rehabilitation and guides rehabilitation medicine that will
benefit many people. NIH research was based on qualitative
evidence-based approaches that aimed to address challenges and
perhaps generate consistent clinical data from various disability
conditions where data sharing and translation will be
encouraged (Jackson & Cernich, 2020). The main purpose of the
NIH on research plan on rehabilitation includes studying the
mechanisms, methods to improve disability challenges,
establishing appropriate interventions to help most affected
individual and families, provide the most applicable methods of
improving, restoring, or even replacing underdeveloped, lost,
and deteriorating functions among individuals living with
disabilities within the context of their environment.
Additionally, the research also aimed to formulate ways in
which disabled people in the community can be helped to
participate in society building fully and perhaps be made feel
oaky and satisfied with the quality of their life (Jackson &
Cernich, 2020). The research deployed several questions
focused on collecting data and other relevant details on the
history of the families of people living with disabilities and
symptoms and secondary challenges associated with disabilities.
