5. Dimensional Measurement
• Online and 100% dimensional
verification with 10µ accuracy.
• In the example given ,the dimensions
of the capacitors(x-y dimensions and
the angles) are checked and if they
are not within the permissible limit
they are rejected.

6. Assembly Verification
• The component is checked to ensure
that all the child parts are present or
not . If any of the child parts are
missing then the component is
rejected .
• Provision to indicate which particular
part is missing.
• This can help eliminate human
assembly errors.

7. Sorting
• Vision systems are used in various
sorting applications to identify or
prevent part mix-up.
• Components are sorted based on
various parameters such as
dimensional attributes
, color, texture, coding etc.
• In the example shown , the various
discs of same diameters are sorted
based on their difference in gap
widths.

8. Surface Defects
• Surface defects include

 Dent Marks
 Burrs
 Cracks
 Flow marks
 Excess material
 Presence of foreign material
• Vision systems can be used to arrest
these defects in the production stage
itself so that wastage of time and

• In the example shown the 2D matrix
etched on an automotive
component is decoded and checked
to verify that it belongs to the same
family of components.
