The group has chosen a film idea about a wife who kills her young son after her husband dies at war. She claims a man she was cheating with committed the murder. However, the twist is that the husband is still alive and murders the wife after discovering the son was killed. The opening sequence will establish the main character and use techniques like tension music, angled shots, low lighting, and quick cuts to create mystery and build tension.

lA wife kills her young son after the death of her husband who was at war in Iraq
l The loss of her husband caused depression.
lShe is trying to claim that a man who she was cheating on her husband with was
the murderer.
lTwist at the end is that the husband is not dead and she gets murdered by the
husband after finding out the child has been killed!!

Firstly, black and white scenes Low key lighting- Low key lighting is used to create shadows, to build up tension within different parts of the opening sequence, Quick Cuts - Quick cuts are also mainly been used within thriller films this is due to causing tension for the audience and leaving

6. Camera shots
We will use close up shots to establish that the murder took place in a family household, we will use dolly zooms and Steadicam to create a sense Hand-held camera- Showing the ladies face towards the audience by reflecting her emotions and feelings.
Shallow focus- to draw attention to things that connotate murder and emphasise that it is in a family household and clues about the plot.
Canted angle shot will be used to show the twisted mindset of the main character, showing depression and an almost bipolar mind-state.

Slow motion shots will be used to give a stronger sense of mystery and eeriness.
We will add a dark and washed out filter that emphasizes reds to create a bloody looking atmosphere.
We will also use a fade in between scenes to slowly cause tension and to cause the audience confusion as to what will happen

The woman will be wearing dull, baggy clothing with tear stains round her eyes to show her outpour of emotions.
Our style we be very desaturated of color, for example we will have dark and dulled out colors to set the tone of the movie.
