2. The first part of the sequence opens
with eerie music this causes suspense
and intrigue.
3. This frame has non diegetic music over it this
creates a creepy tone also the frame shows
unevolved, basic life forms.
4. In this shot the narrator starts to compare humanity to cells linking
back to the earlier shots and saying the human race is as
insignificant as the bacteria we saw before. He also compares the
earth to a spec of water on a leaf
5. At this point the narrator is talking about how small we are in the
universe this bird's eye view shot helps reinforce that by showing a
city as really small and insignificant.
6. As the camera pulls out it shows light coming from behind the earth. This
may foreshadow the arrival of aliens for the main sequence of the movie.
This low lit suspense full shot is typical of a thriller. It lets the viewers
imagination build up.
7. The title sequence has quite non diegetic sounds in a
eerie tune. Also behind the title is the same bright light
from before it flies towards the camera then cuts.
