1. Benefit Of Homework Essay
The Benefits of Homework for Kids
Learning begins at home, as the old ages goes. The main purpose is to bridge the gap between
children's learning at school and at home. It is an avenue for parents to interact with their children
and understand the content they are learning. In this way, they can provide other means of academic
support for their children. Homework is an effective tool for learning. It develops a good study habit.
Harmful effects of kid's health when consumed too much time on homework. Also, homework helpS
kids become knowledgeable. School homework is beneficial to kids' academic success.
One of the most advantage of homework is that encourages the kids' positive attitude about school.
Completing homework early in the schooling years ensures that it becomes a habit, not an
inconvenience. Teacher recognizes kids work is valuable: "Angela Downing, an elementary school
teacher in Newton, Massachusetts, has found great success in displaying excellent student
homework on the walls inside and out of her classroom" (Graham). This creates a good relationship
between student–teacher and encouraging the student in participating school work. Homework is a
lifelong learning. In the Journal "Is Home Out of Control?" states, "Juggling our assignments teaches
us important life skills" (Scholastic Choices 5). Teaching students the importance of assignments
make them successful in life. By telling them to read and study at least 30 minutes before going to
bed so that it

2. Essay On Homework
A high schooler comes home from school. He gets out his homework and gets started. The mom of
the student said start your homework and then we will eat.The mom spends an hour at dinner, but
the student is not done with his homework. He is asking his dad all types of questions, but he is
too busy to help. That happens every day at this family home. When the boy got his test scores back
later in the year, they were so low. Students have busy lifestyles and stress at home. They need time
away from studies to appreciate what they learn. There are so many things that can help them prepare
for life outside of school and giving a lot of homework causes stress to the student and family. I
wanted to find a way to get schools to cut down on homework. Too many kids are doing badly on
a test because of the time constraints and stress to complete homework. So let's do something
about it. When I was researching, I asked myself "How can I get schools to cut down on
homework?"After all the research that I did, it was clear to me that we can help the kids in school
to have less homework.
Statistics about too much homework are illuminating: too much homework can lead to being
counterproductive. After a school day, kids come home and do their homework that can cause stress
to a family that has other needs or issues, such as low income. Too much homework can have a
negative effect because they might be from a home that doesn't have everything they need. They
might not have parents or older siblings

3. Evaluating My Homework
To truthfully evaluate myself this year, I was satisfied with the work I have produced this year. I
have manage to show effort in my work and be able to fully complete a piece. For example, I was
able to be an efficient worker when I was focused and work hard. While my work certainly wasn't
the best, I was able to make it to the best of my ability. This year in Art, I have make improvement
throughout the year. For example, I learn how to make a work complete. In my work last
semester, all of my work lack detail and completeness. However, my work this semester, was able
to improve, partly because it is sculpture, not drawings. I was able to be more bold with my work
in areas of sculpturing and clay making. Next year, I believe that art class could incorporate
different artforms such as photography, or digital art into the class. That could expose students to
different art, and allow them to have a wider understanding and how to view art in general....show

This project is also very unique and is probably something I won't have a chance to do in the future.
And it is certainly a special experience for

4. The Importance of Homework Essay
Students spend hours doing it, teachers spend hours checking it. Homework is sometimes a burden
to teachers and students but still it is necessary. Some people doubt homework's effectiveness, but
teachers and researchers agree homework is essential. Homework helps students get better grades in
school.
Some people don't know exactly what homework is. Homework is defined as an out of class
activity assigned to students as an extension or elaboration of classroom work(KidSource). There
are three types of homework teachers generally give out. The first is Practice assignments, they are
assignments that reinforce newly acquired skills or knowledge(KidSource). An example of these
assignments is writing definitions down for new words...show more content...
Parents, students, and teachers all sometimes wonder how useful is homework? Though studies
examining the relationship between homework and school achievement have been inclusive(ERIC).
Still many teachers and researchers still agree that homework helps students achieve higher grades in
school. Schools that assigned homework frequently showed higher student achievement than schools
that assigned little homework(ERIC). This means that homework is working. Studies have generally
found that if teachers carefully plan homework, homework can be quite helpful(KidSource).
Homework has proven its effectiveness and is a very powerful factor in student performance.
Students should only spend enough time on homework so that the subject is reinforced and not just
a waste of time. The national PTA suggest that from K–3 grades there should be no more than 20
minutes a day, for 4–6 grades there should be 20–40 minutes of homework, and from 7–12 grades
time varies do to types of subjects and number of subjects taken(KidSource). Anymore than these
recommended amount of times is seen excessive by the national PTA. Surprisingly U.S. students
are working as hard as Asians: 24% of eighth graders do more then two hour of homework
compared to Japans 28% and Germanys 17%(Brimelow108). Are we working to hard, researchers
don't think so, U.S. student grades are improving. As of 1996 one in every sixth grader does more
than an hour of

5. Homework Essay
Definition of homework: Tasks assigned to students by school teachers that are intended to be
carried out during non–school hours. Why do we have homework? What are the benefits of
homework? Is there such thing as too much homework? Homework helps you to gain, and retain
more knowledge than would be possible with only classroom work, this is a huge reason students get
homework. Homework does actually have benefits, it teaches a host of important life skills, from
responsibility and time management in prioritizing and organizing. But, how much is too much
homework? That depends on multiple complex or elaborate factors, including the singular
intelligence or capability of the child, type of classes, and available time. If you do have a lot...show

That depends on multiple complex or elaborate factors, including the singular intelligence or
capability of the child, type of classes, and available time. I'm afraid some people after a certain
amount of time doing homework, they begin to shut down. However, there have been studies that
show how outside of school learning improves in–class learning, and I agree with that. Without
homework, I'd forget part of what we learned the previous day the minute my head hit the pillow.
But, if you must skip a simple 90 minutes of soccer practice because homework is taking two hours
longer than you thought, there's a problem. If you do have a lot of homework at a time, it helps to
be organized. Prioritizing can help you to complete your homework assignments with minimal stress.
"A poll conducted for the Associated Press earlier this year found that about 57 percent of parents
felt their child was assigned about the right amount of homework. Another 23 percent thought it was
too little, 19 percent thought it was too much." K–2 works on homework for about 10–20 minutes a
night. 3–6 graders have about 30–60 minutes a night usually. When you get into junior high you'll
have about 90 minutes. Students who are in college have around 90–150 minutes a night! Do you
now understand why we students have homework? What are the benefits of homework? And if there

Questions For Study and Discussion 1. What exactly does Zinsser mean by "clutter" (1)? How
does he believe we can free ourselves of clutter? 2. Identify the main idea in each of the thirteen
paragraphs. How is each paragraph related to Zinsser's topic and purpose ? 3. In what ways do
paragraphs 4–6 serve to illustrate the main idea of paragraph 3? (Glossary: Illustration) 4. In
paragraph 11, Zinsser says that writers must constantly ask themselves some questions. What are
these questions, and why are they important? 5. How do...show more content...
2A) Each paragraph is related to Zinsser's topic and purpose because in each paragraph he talks
about how Americans write and what a lot of faults is and also he is telling us how to write better
paragraphs. 3) Paragraphs 4–6 illustrates that the president of his university wrote a letter to mollify
the alumni after a spell of campus unrest. In paragraph 3 it says the secret of good writing is to strip
every sentence to its cleanest components. The president did not do that . 4) What am I trying to
say ? Have I said it ? Is it clear to someone encountering the subject for the first time? These
questions are important to ask yourself when you are writing your paragraph so your reader will
know what you are talking about and your paragraphs will make sense and it will be correct. 5)
Zinsser's first and lasts paragraphs serve to introduce and conclude his essay very good because
he says in the beginning that Clutter is a disease of American writing and in the ending he says
that if you find writing is hard , it is because you make it hard for yourself. It is up to the
individual if you want to write your paragraph in proper English. 6) The relationship between
thinking and writing for Zinsser is that when you are thinking you are just writing your thoughts but
when you are writing for him you have to write in proper English because he does not like improper
