Introduction to Psychology Essay examples
Introduction to Psychology The concern about life is a main human characteristic. No matter if his
concern is concentrated in himself or in persons or things that surround him and constitute his
environment, everybody wants to know why people, himself included, behave the way they
behave. Everybody, also, wants to improve his behavior, so as to live in harmony with himself and
the society. The Greek word Psychology, is a word consisted of the words
ψυχή–soul and λόγος–utterance, talk. So,
generally, psychology is the science that examines the soul. But , since the psychologists work on
the problems of the personal, family, school, professional and social life, we could say, more...show

The heartbeats, the movements of our head are behavior. The way we eat, the way we drink, the
way we walk, we talk, are behavior. The construction of a bridge, the composition of a song are
behavior. The fantasies of a child, the dreams of a adolescent, the illusions of an alcoholic are
behavior. Although we are all familiar with human behavior, a little do we understand or we can
explain about it. Since our infancy we learn about behavior through the experiences and the
knowledge that we get by observing other people or having relations with them. Living in society
leads us to watch and try to explain the way people behave. But that is not always easy. Sometimes
we cannot understand even ourselves. Psychology comes to give answers to all this uncertainty.
Therefore, according to modern psychology, the term behavior means all the conscious,
unconscious, verbal, mental and kinetic expressions of ourselves. Psychology uses statistic
researches so as to distinguish the normal behavior from the abnormal one. Such a thing is very
difficult because every society has its own behavior standards, and, consequently, an act that is
normal according to one society, may be abnormal according to another. For example, polygamy is
not permitted in Europe, but it is permitted in certain societies in Africa. So, the judgement of a
behavior must bear in mind the social environment in which it takes place .

Essay on Socialization
Socialization Socialization is the process by which culture is learned; also called enculturation.
During socialization individuals internalize a culture's social controls, along with values and norms
about right and wrong. Socialization is a complex process that involves many individuals, groups,
and social institutions. AGENTS OF SOCIALIZATION There are four main agents of socialization
family, school, peer groups (friends and collogues), and mass media. The family is the single most
important agent of socialization because the family is the first and most continuous social world for
infants and children. The family provides the child's initial social identity in terms of race, religion,
social class, and gender. In time,...show more content...
The peer group shares with the school the important function of allowing the child to be away
from the family where the child learns different models of behavior as well as well as new
relationships and values they might not have learned in their family life. Peer groups also allow
the opportunity to discuss interests that adults may not share (clothes, music). The peer group also
teaches children how to deal with conflicts. The agents of socialization discussed above (family,
school, and peer group) are all involved in interactive and personal contact. Mass media on the
other had are various impersonal modes of communication intended for large audiences (e.g., radio,
television, motion pictures, newspapers). Mass media can have an enormous effect on our
attitudes and behavior. The media influence socialization by providing additional and alternative
role models as well as social norms and values. It appears that most influential mass medium today
is television. A positive view of television is that it provides an excellent medium of instruction and
an entertaining way of expanding the horizons of children by exposing them to places and events
they may not be able to experience first hand. The negative view of television is that it makes
children more passive and less likely to use their imagination; it stresses the unrealistic nature of

An Introduction to Globalization Essay
Globalization is a historical phenomenon that has been happening for decades now, and whether it
generates growth or not is a matter of whose point of view it is. The western countries, especially
America and some European nations, are the ones taking full advantage of the benefits of
globalization. On the other hand, some experts say that globalization is not doing much for the
developing countries, or that it may be even worsening their scenarios of poverty and social
inequality. But, I will get back to that later . The point is that globalization, while it was primarily
triggered by the emergence of a global market and facilitated by the democratization of
communication technologies, also caused cultural, social and even political...show more content...
We are in the era of free information flow and democratization of communication tools. Through the
Internet, people are able to produce content and distribute it in many different ways to infinite
different people. What is really amazing is that the idea of distance lost its significance. Now, you
are able to communicate from your house in the south of Brazil with friends who live in India,
America or any other place in the world. Messages are overcoming huge distances because of
technological improvements and the implementation of global networks. The third movement is
political. Basically, it means that since globalization implies a compression of national boundaries,
which were brought about by the increase of trade at the global level, the importance of both the
activity of international legal institutions and treats, like the World Trade Organization, and the
dialogue between political leaders of different nations has risen significantly. Also, in the globalized
world we see a quite interesting phenomenon: the importance given by nations' leaders to their
self–image in the international political scene. Think this way: when countries were not dependent
on the businesses they had with other countries why would presidents bother to be admired by other
national leaders? What we see now is a scenario where nations' leaders struggle for status among the
international political elite. The last set

Introspection Essay
The dictionary describes introspection as the examination or observation of one's own mental and
emotional processes. Kevin Woods stated, "Introspection are all about getting to know yourself at
the core, uncovering your values and then deciding for yourself what's the best action to take."
Your emotions and feelings play a major role in why we do things. If we listen to our feelings then
we can find more things about us that we didn't know. This could benefit us and help us appreciate
more things and live but also may make us overthink some times. Karl Perera mentioned,
"Introspection is good in small doses. If you are feeling very tired or have no energy and can't find a
solution as things keep rolling through your mind over and over then it is time to stop." Overall,
everyone connects with things differently; it is interesting to notice how you feel in certain situations.

My Core Values
As I have grown as an adult and moved further towards success in my life, I have always
maintained a guided structure to achieve goals and tasks that challenge me. I call these my "Core
Values". This is a strict regimen or a belief system that I have instilled into my everyday practice to
complete any task that presents itself. Although not perfected, I have found this method to be quite
successful. My work ethic, responsibility, and my drive to further my education and knowledge
have never failed me. Life can seem tough and demanding on a very consistent basis, but I believe

To build responsibility as a child I volunteered to take care of my family dog. Even though she was
the family's pet I took it upon myself to make sure she was properly fed, watered, and walked. My
mother was very proud of my new development as an adolescent. She became very encouraging
and would come up with other special chores around the house that I could be relied upon to
handle. To some children this would seem like a punishment, but both of my parents were so
supportive and persuasive that I looked forward to having the gained accountability. My father
instituted honesty and respect as monuments for responsibility. I of course struggled at times
with taking care of my dog, and handling some of my other chores. But my father always wanted
me to not only be honest with my parents, but also with myself. He stated that a lie would not
benefit anybody and it was disrespectful to tell a lie. He would tell me that a liar was the same as
a cheater, and nobody liked either. If I knew how to respect others and be honest, than my
responsibility would only increase. I asked why I would want added responsibility and my father
told me two things that changed my perspective completely. First, it was that responsible people
always tended to be more successful. Since I had always dreamed of growing up to be rich and
famous, I guess I could accept the added responsibility. The second thing he told me was that one

Livesaat is the product we will be selling in our company. This product is maid up of two
components being the chip and GPRS receiver. The microchip is a passive device and hence
contains no internal power source. The chip contains an inductor and a capacitor. The silicon chip
contains the identification number plus electronic circuits to transmit information to the receiver.
The inductor acts as a radio antenna and is ready to receive electrical power from the receiver.
The combination of the inductor and capacitor acts as a tuner. The receiver presents an inductive
field that excites the coil and charges the capacitor, which in turn energises and powers the IC. The
IC then transmits the data via the coil to the receiver. The chip is encased in a biocompatible glass
made from soda lime, and hermetically sealed to prevent any moisture or fluid entering the unit.
This ensures that livestock is not affected physically or behaviourally by the presence of a chip in
their bodies.A GPS receiver has a GPS chip that receives signals from satellites and uses those
signals to get precise fix on livestock's current

What I Have Learned Essay
What I Have Learned
When I think about what counts as learning to me, I think about my life. Just being able to live in
this world to me is a learning experience, because I feel that my life is full of lessons and I believe
that it takes lessons to learn in life. I feel that I have learned to understand learning more and to
also understand the value of learning. As I get older I can comprehend subject matters more than I
could ever do before. I am learning to be more serious and I find myself not taking life for granted

I feel that I have to get rid of bad habits in order to make room for better habits that I need for
everyday life. I am learning better habits everyday. Even though I did bad on my first exam I feel
that counted as learning for me because now I know what it takes for me to receive a high grade on
any test I take.
The biggest learning experience to me so far is life itself. I feel that way because there is so much to
learn in life. It takes growing up for me to learn in life. I am now beginning to understand the value
of learning because a year ago I did not appreciate learning. I did not value it like I value it now. I
took it for granted as if learning could just be given to me. I realize now that it has to be earned. My
attitude in high school was bad because I really did not feel I was learning, so I took it for granted.
In high school I felt as if the teachers were jokes and I also felt they did not care about educating
me properly. I am now starting to learn the value of an education. I now look forward to learning
new things everyday. I feel that I am beginning to have a passion for learning. I never thought that
I would feel this way about learning because I never did appreciate it like I do now. I now actually
yearn to learn; I feel that I need to learn new things. Every assignment I have done in college is
teaching me something new. I think I feel this way because I am maturing and I now view learning

What is Stress? Essay
Stress is something that affects many people each and every day. Life is full of hassles,
deadlines, frustrations, and demands. For some people stress is so common it is a way of life.
Stress can be very harmful and or helpful. It could help motivate you to meet a deadline and
perform a task under pressure. Stress can also be very harmful, such as memory problems,
moodiness, aches and pains, and eating more or less.
So what is stress? Stress is a normal physical response that happens when you feel threatened or
upset. When you feel that you are in danger whether it is real or imaged. Your body has a response
when stress occurs and it is a way of actually protecting you. Many times, stress helps people stay

Stress has many different symptoms the most often and most common is having a headache. On
your body the effects of stress are muscle tension or pain, chest pain, and fatigue. The effects of
stress on your mood is anxiety, restlessness, and lack of motivation or focus. Finally, the effects of
stress on your behavior is overeating or under eating, drug or alcohol abuse, and social withdraw.
Since anyone at any age can be stressed there is no certain population that is effected the most. I
would say that teenagers get stressed easily due to school, spots and or jobs. The thing that
stresses most high school student out is picking and choosing what they are going to do after
high school and what college they will be going to if any. People a little bit older after college could
be stressed by trying to find a job or trying to find or support a family. Older people could be stressed
if they are running out of money but besides that older people are probably the least stressful people

Introduction to Communication
Introduction to communication Communication is the task of relaying information which involves
exchange of ideas, messages, and information through the use of speech, visuals, signals, writing or
behaviour between two or more living creatures. Communication may be intentional or unintentional,
may involve conventional or unconventional signals, may take linguistic or non–linguistic forms,
and may occur through spoken or other modes(Wikipedia 2014).. The main aim of communicating
is to get your information across it doesn't necessarily have to be understood. Effective
communication is the process through which a message is sent to an intended receiver and it is
understood by him/her before sending back the required response (Ask n.d). Effective
communication happens when a desired effect is the result of intentional or unintentional
information being exchanged which is decoded by between multiple entities and acted on in a
desired way (Wikipedia 2014).The ability to give desired feedback is the first important part of
effective communication Communication process Communication happens in a loop in the sense
that it is a continuous thing starting from the sender's message down to the receiver's feedback.
The communication process is made up of several process. These several processes could be
grouped as follows (Effective communication skills, 2012, p. 8,9,10): Source Message Encoding

My Teaching Philosophy Essay
My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and
involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they
go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college.
Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead
something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better
equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly
anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That
being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content...
The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the
most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for
the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore
different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is
not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge
not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are
not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an
energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like
an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or
her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only
to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a
particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the
teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more

My Personal Identity Essay
A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests
and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some
factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a
person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture
may influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and

Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends
I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music'
is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of
adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart
pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I
love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be
on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics
that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly
consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering
(especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is
measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very
strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that,
although some people just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will
not go anywhere but to the hospital or the morgue. Educational experiences also tend to influence a

Reflection On My English 101 Experience
Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your
mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The
truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in
the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can
explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses.
Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before
taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and
unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I
struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to
the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class
that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the
whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for
navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I
have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in
English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the

Introduction
Some governments have banned smoking in all public places. Smoking has been proven to be very
dangerous to health. Nonetheless 40 % of the population smokes. Actually I am a non smoker,
although I used to be a smoker.
Most people try out smoking when they are young ; many youths think smoking is a good grown–up
habit. Furthermore many young people begin smoking as an act of rebellion and independence.
Young smokers start smoking at their age of 12 or 13 just to get a taste of , what it is like. Some of
them find it disgusting and unhealthy and some of them find it cool.

must breathe the cigarette smoke every day. Many people will agree that smoking is easy to start
and hard to quit. By the way they don't even think about whether they disturb non–smokers with their

Disadvantages of smoking
As far as I am concerned, the main problem with smoking is that it causes lung and mouth cancer,
and not just in smokers. I dislike yellow teeth or bad breath. From my point of view there are a
large number of impressionable people who are easily influenced and might try to pick up their

to be somebody else, and I don't want to be suitable for somebody either. Hopefully in the future
people are going to give smoking careful thought.

Business plays a major role within our society. It is a creative and competitive activity that
continuously contributes to the shaping of our society. By satisfying the needs and wants people

It is a way for individuals to provide goods and services to consumers, and at the same time, produce

for consumers, but they also improve the economy and increase jobs for people within society
which is an additional fact producing a higher standard of living. To measure our societies standard of

profits freely. The supply of money available within a business as well as the economic stability
through times of growth and recession have strong effects on businesses. Not only is the physical
environment, including natural resources, pollution and energy as discussed previously, important,

Essay about Training and Development
Training and development has become increasingly essential to the success of modern organisations,
yet some still look at training as a problem or as something that is not taken seriously. Training and
development is one key approach used by organisations to improve and maintain the capabilities of
its workforce. However, many experts distinguish between training and development, being that
training tends to be more closely focused and adapted towards short–term performance concerns,
while development tends to be adapted more towards expanding an individual's skills for future
responsibilities (Snell and Bohlander 2007). The main reason that organisations train their
employees is to bring their knowledge, skills and abilities up to the...show more content...
Furthermore, spoiled work, damages, and accidents to equipment and machinery can be kept to a
minimum by well trained employees, continued training helps employees develop their ability to
learn by adapting themselves to new work methods, learning to use new kinds of equipment, and
adjusting to major changes in work relationships and job content, also, through training, new
employees learn to measure up to standards for performance, thereby satisfying their human need for
personal growth and increasing their value to the organisation (Pigors and Myers 1977).
Similarly, Longenecker and Fink (2005) assert that the benefits derived from training are manifold,
and these include; exposure to new and better practices and ideas for application, leads to reflection,
self–appraisal and retrospection, motivates employees to improve performance, encourages career
development planning, helps identify specific performance problems and challenges an employee to
think differently, to name a few. Other benefits are a more flexible workforce, improved
performance of existing employees, decreased supervision, higher skill levels and reduced learning
time, thus reducing learning costs, improved organisation morale, and to ensure for succession
(Molander 1989).

  • 1. Introduction to Psychology Essay examples Introduction to Psychology The concern about life is a main human characteristic. No matter if his concern is concentrated in himself or in persons or things that surround him and constitute his environment, everybody wants to know why people, himself included, behave the way they behave. Everybody, also, wants to improve his behavior, so as to live in harmony with himself and the society. The Greek word Psychology, is a word consisted of the words ψυχή–soul and λόγος–utterance, talk. So, generally, psychology is the science that examines the soul. But , since the psychologists work on the problems of the personal, family, school, professional and social life, we could say, more...show more content... The heartbeats, the movements of our head are behavior. The way we eat, the way we drink, the way we walk, we talk, are behavior. The construction of a bridge, the composition of a song are behavior. The fantasies of a child, the dreams of a adolescent, the illusions of an alcoholic are behavior. Although we are all familiar with human behavior, a little do we understand or we can explain about it. Since our infancy we learn about behavior through the experiences and the knowledge that we get by observing other people or having relations with them. Living in society leads us to watch and try to explain the way people behave. But that is not always easy. Sometimes we cannot understand even ourselves. Psychology comes to give answers to all this uncertainty. Therefore, according to modern psychology, the term behavior means all the conscious, unconscious, verbal, mental and kinetic expressions of ourselves. Psychology uses statistic researches so as to distinguish the normal behavior from the abnormal one. Such a thing is very difficult because every society has its own behavior standards, and, consequently, an act that is normal according to one society, may be abnormal according to another. For example, polygamy is not permitted in Europe, but it is permitted in certain societies in Africa. So, the judgement of a behavior must bear in mind the social environment in which it takes place . Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 3. Essay on Socialization Socialization Socialization is the process by which culture is learned; also called enculturation. During socialization individuals internalize a culture's social controls, along with values and norms about right and wrong. Socialization is a complex process that involves many individuals, groups, and social institutions. AGENTS OF SOCIALIZATION There are four main agents of socialization family, school, peer groups (friends and collogues), and mass media. The family is the single most important agent of socialization because the family is the first and most continuous social world for infants and children. The family provides the child's initial social identity in terms of race, religion, social class, and gender. In time,...show more content... The peer group shares with the school the important function of allowing the child to be away from the family where the child learns different models of behavior as well as well as new relationships and values they might not have learned in their family life. Peer groups also allow the opportunity to discuss interests that adults may not share (clothes, music). The peer group also teaches children how to deal with conflicts. The agents of socialization discussed above (family, school, and peer group) are all involved in interactive and personal contact. Mass media on the other had are various impersonal modes of communication intended for large audiences (e.g., radio, television, motion pictures, newspapers). Mass media can have an enormous effect on our attitudes and behavior. The media influence socialization by providing additional and alternative role models as well as social norms and values. It appears that most influential mass medium today is television. A positive view of television is that it provides an excellent medium of instruction and an entertaining way of expanding the horizons of children by exposing them to places and events they may not be able to experience first hand. The negative view of television is that it makes children more passive and less likely to use their imagination; it stresses the unrealistic nature of many Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 5. An Introduction to Globalization Essay Globalization is a historical phenomenon that has been happening for decades now, and whether it generates growth or not is a matter of whose point of view it is. The western countries, especially America and some European nations, are the ones taking full advantage of the benefits of globalization. On the other hand, some experts say that globalization is not doing much for the developing countries, or that it may be even worsening their scenarios of poverty and social inequality. But, I will get back to that later . The point is that globalization, while it was primarily triggered by the emergence of a global market and facilitated by the democratization of communication technologies, also caused cultural, social and even political...show more content... We are in the era of free information flow and democratization of communication tools. Through the Internet, people are able to produce content and distribute it in many different ways to infinite different people. What is really amazing is that the idea of distance lost its significance. Now, you are able to communicate from your house in the south of Brazil with friends who live in India, America or any other place in the world. Messages are overcoming huge distances because of technological improvements and the implementation of global networks. The third movement is political. Basically, it means that since globalization implies a compression of national boundaries, which were brought about by the increase of trade at the global level, the importance of both the activity of international legal institutions and treats, like the World Trade Organization, and the dialogue between political leaders of different nations has risen significantly. Also, in the globalized world we see a quite interesting phenomenon: the importance given by nations' leaders to their self–image in the international political scene. Think this way: when countries were not dependent on the businesses they had with other countries why would presidents bother to be admired by other national leaders? What we see now is a scenario where nations' leaders struggle for status among the international political elite. The last set Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Kevin Woods stated, "Introspection are all about getting to know yourself at the core, uncovering your values and then deciding for yourself what's the best action to take." Your emotions and feelings play a major role in why we do things. If we listen to our feelings then we can find more things about us that we didn't know. This could benefit us and help us appreciate more things and live but also may make us overthink some times. Karl Perera mentioned, "Introspection is good in small doses. If you are feeling very tired or have no energy and can't find a solution as things keep rolling through your mind over and over then it is time to stop." Overall, everyone connects with things differently; it is interesting to notice how you feel in certain situations. I recently just lost a ring that was given to me a couple years ago. I was devastated and felt irresponsible. I have always wanted a Pandora Ring so this devastation led me to get one. I did a little research to figure which one I wanted on the Pandora website. Although not perfected, I have found this method to be quite successful. My work ethic, responsibility, and my drive to further my education and knowledge have never failed me. To build responsibility as a child I volunteered to take care of my family dog. Even though she was the family's pet I took it upon myself to make sure she was properly fed, watered, and walked. My mother was very proud of my new development as an adolescent. She became very encouraging and would come up with other special chores around the house that I could be relied upon to handle. To some children this would seem like a punishment, but both of my parents were so supportive and persuasive that I looked forward to having the gained accountability. My father instituted honesty and respect as monuments for responsibility. I of course struggled at times with taking care of my dog, and handling some of my other chores. But my father always wanted me to not only be honest with my parents, but also with myself. He stated that a lie would not benefit anybody and it was disrespectful to tell a lie. He would tell me that a liar was the same as a cheater, and nobody liked either. If I knew how to respect others and be honest, than my responsibility would only increase. I asked why I would want added responsibility and my father told me two things that changed my perspective completely. First, it was that responsible people always tended to be more successful. The chip contains an inductor and a capacitor. The silicon chip contains the identification number plus electronic circuits to transmit information to the receiver. The inductor acts as a radio antenna and is ready to receive electrical power from the receiver. The combination of the inductor and capacitor acts as a tuner. The receiver presents an inductive field that excites the coil and charges the capacitor, which in turn energises and powers the IC. The IC then transmits the data via the coil to the receiver. The chip is encased in a biocompatible glass made from soda lime, and hermetically sealed to prevent any moisture or fluid entering the unit. My attitude in high school was bad because I really did not feel I was learning, so I took it for granted. In high school I felt as if the teachers were jokes and I also felt they did not care about educating me properly. I am now starting to learn the value of an education. I now look forward to learning new things everyday. I feel that I am beginning to have a passion for learning. The main aim of communicating is to get your information across it doesn't necessarily have to be understood. Effective communication is the process through which a message is sent to an intended receiver and it is understood by him/her before sending back the required response (Ask n.d). Effective communication happens when a desired effect is the result of intentional or unintentional information being exchanged which is decoded by between multiple entities and acted on in a desired way (Wikipedia 2014).The ability to give desired feedback is the first important part of effective communication Communication process Communication happens in a loop in the sense that it is a continuous thing starting from the sender's message down to the receiver's feedback. The communication process is made up of several process. These several processes could be grouped as follows (Effective communication skills, 2012, p. 8,9,10): Source Message Encoding Channel Decoder Receiver Feedback Context This I call the chain of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Teaching Philosophy Essay My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college. Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content... The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My Personal Identity Essay A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture may influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and sports, and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a person's taste in clothing, music, speech, and social activities. Personal interests are what truly set individuals apart. The largest trends I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music' is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering (especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that, although some people just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will not go anywhere but to the hospital or the morgue. Educational experiences also tend to influence a person's identity. I have not had too many educational Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Reflection On My English 101 Experience Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses. Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In the novel Night by Elie wiesel speaks about hunger as something all jews were used to, empty and deprived of nutrition they were already dead. Hunger consumes all hope and love that people have with one another. Body Paragraph 1 In Night, hunger devours most relationships within the vile gates of auschwitz, for example when Elie Wiesel was on the train cart he witnessed a son kill his own father for some crust "Meir, my little Meir! Don't you recognize me... You're killing your father... I have bread... for you too..." (pg 101). From hunger a son betrayed his own father only to fill his stomach, in the end they both died due to their desire to contain hunger. • 16. Smoking Essay example Smoking Introduction Some governments have banned smoking in all public places. Smoking has been proven to be very dangerous to health. Nonetheless 40 % of the population smokes. Actually I am a non smoker, although I used to be a smoker. Most people try out smoking when they are young ; many youths think smoking is a good grown–up habit. Furthermore many young people begin smoking as an act of rebellion and independence. Young smokers start smoking at their age of 12 or 13 just to get a taste of , what it is like. Some of them find it disgusting and unhealthy and some of them find it cool. In my opinion they should introduce them at the earliest possible moment. I totally agree with the decision, that somebody wants to smoke the company must set up a smoking areas in the workplace. I don't think it takes away some of their freedom, because they take my freedom in that i must breathe the cigarette smoke every day. Many people will agree that smoking is easy to start and hard to quit. By the way they don't even think about whether they disturb non–smokers with their smoke. Personally this is the major problem with some smokers. Disadvantages of smoking As far as I am concerned, the main problem with smoking is that it causes lung and mouth cancer, and not just in smokers. I dislike yellow teeth or bad breath. From my point of view there are a large number of impressionable people who are easily influenced and might try to pick up their peers habits. As they want to be similar to them. In my opinion this is a foolish thing. I don't want to be somebody else, and I don't want to be suitable for somebody either. Hopefully in the future people are going to give smoking careful thought. Concluison I give the government's enactment my full support, because I am a nonsmoker. In addition we non–smokers restricted by smokers, in that I had to suffer smoke where I didn't want to. If I were in their shoes, I would put up with the

I received a B on my final draft; the first passing grade I have ever received on a research paper. I am very satisfied with my grade. When it came to the essays writing became a little trickier because I had to understand what it was I needed to write about and the style in which I need to write it in. There are nine essay writing methods which I learned while attending this course: exemplification, compare/contrast, cause and effect, proposal, narration, process, division/classification, definition, and argument. The only problems I encountered when trying to write the essays that were assigned to me by the instructor was finding suitable subject matter to write about. Once I found my topics for my essay, everything else became easier. I would first produce a rough draft and then the students, the instructor, and myself would go over them in class and decided if what I was writing was in its best form. Most of my rough drafts needed improvement, but if it didn't it wouldn't be a rough draft, so it was understood. My final drafts were very satisfying for me as well as the grades I received on them. For my exemplification essay I chose to write about the reasons why condoms Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Essay about Training and Development Training and development has become increasingly essential to the success of modern organisations, yet some still look at training as a problem or as something that is not taken seriously. Training and development is one key approach used by organisations to improve and maintain the capabilities of its workforce. However, many experts distinguish between training and development, being that training tends to be more closely focused and adapted towards short–term performance concerns, while development tends to be adapted more towards expanding an individual's skills for future responsibilities (Snell and Bohlander 2007). The main reason that organisations train their employees is to bring their knowledge, skills and abilities up to the...show more content... Furthermore, spoiled work, damages, and accidents to equipment and machinery can be kept to a minimum by well trained employees, continued training helps employees develop their ability to learn by adapting themselves to new work methods, learning to use new kinds of equipment, and adjusting to major changes in work relationships and job content, also, through training, new employees learn to measure up to standards for performance, thereby satisfying their human need for personal growth and increasing their value to the organisation (Pigors and Myers 1977). Similarly, Longenecker and Fink (2005) assert that the benefits derived from training are manifold, and these include; exposure to new and better practices and ideas for application, leads to reflection, self–appraisal and retrospection, motivates employees to improve performance, encourages career development planning, helps identify specific performance problems and challenges an employee to think differently, to name a few. Other benefits are a more flexible workforce, improved performance of existing employees, decreased supervision, higher skill levels and reduced learning time, thus reducing learning costs, improved organisation morale, and to ensure for succession (Molander 1989).
