2. Let's live in......Chiswick
Chiswick is one of West London’s
greenest areas, characterised by wide,
tree-lined streets, open spaces and
frontage on the River Thames. It’s an
award-winning neighbourhood too, with
Chiswick High Road voted one of
London’s top five high streets in 2015.
Add great primary schools, good
transport links and a burgeoning dining
scene and you’ve got the makings of a
must-live neighbourhood.
3. Chiswick offers London residents a
little oasis in a busy metropolis. There’s
a strong village feel and a sense of
serenity - especially at weekends - that
appeals to families and those looking to
escape the frantic pace of inner city
living. Chiswick apartments are popular
with young professionals, and flats to
rent at Kew Bridge Court are especially
suitable for first-time renters as they
can be reserved on a furnished basis.

although will carry a premium.

smartest in Chiswick. This gated

one, two and three-bedroom apartments
that have all been recently refurbished by
Residential Land to a high standard.
There is a nod to the contemporary with
bright neutral decor and glossy fitted
kitchens. Added to the high level of
finish, residents at the development
enjoy landscaped gardens and 104 off-
street parking spaces.

7. A good meal is never hard to find in
Chiswick, with reportedly over 40 restaurants
in W4 to choose from. These include the
Michelin-starred La Trompette, which serves
classic French cuisine; The High Road
House Brasserie on Chiswick High Road and

11. Culture and the arts in Chiswick
Anyone’s first port of call for culture is Chiswick House - a Chiswick property
admired across the capital. This Palladian villa on Burlington Lane is one the
finest remaining examples of neo-Palladian architecture in London, accompanied
by stunning landscaped gardens. Also worth a visit is Hogarth House - the home
of the painter, engraver and satirist William Hogarth from 1749 until his death. A
tour of Chiswick’s Fuller’s Brewery is a refreshing stop on many levels - steeped
in history and with a great shop too.
12. Take to the water at the Civil Service
Boathouse on Dukes Meadows, next to
Barnes Bridge. It’s home to a number of
rowing clubs and there’s a super bar as well.
Chiswick Library is a real community hub, with
storytelling and craft sessions for children, and
a variety of groups for adults to join too.
Chiswick also has it’s own Book Festival, with
events taking place annually across W4. New
Chiswick Pool and Brentford Fountain Leisure
Centre are where Chiswick residents go to
keep fit, with sports halls, gymnasiums and a
swimming pool across the two locations.
Hogarth Health Club is Chiswick’s premier
private gym and spa complex.

seasonal and local, keep Sundays
free for Chiswick’s fine food and
farmers’ market, which takes place
every Sunday between 10am and
2pm in the farmyard setting of Grove
Park Farm House. Chiswick High
Road is awash with high-end brands
and specialist shops.

14. The Old Cinema - the place to browse
for vintage, antique or retro items, and
Cowshed - the cult beauty and gift
brand, among others. Devonshire Road
is worth exploring for unusual and one-
off stores, including Chiswick Pets, a
trio of fashion boutiques (Damsel, Wild
Swans and Polomo) and the Frivoli
Gallery. For retail therapy with a sense
of history, keep tabs on the events
programme at Chiswick Town Hall -
where a number of collectors and
antique fairs take place.
