3. Staff Logins
• Regionals and Branches will have 2 logins
– Desk staff and Branch Head (examples – bakstaff, bbrstaff, etc.)
– Moonlighters (examples – bakml, bbrml, etc.)
– Branch Heads will be given the passwords
• Outreach will have 2 logins
– Staff login – osstaff
– Admin login – sent to Darilyn
• Main departments – a list of department logins has been sent to the
Division Heads
4. 2020 Summer Reading Programs
• Children
– Dragon Cubs, Ages 0 to 5, minimum of 10 books to earn completion and can earn
up to 24 activity badges
– Heroes in Training, Ages 5 to 8, minimum of 5 hours of reading in 20 minute
sessions to earn completion and can earn up to 60 activity badges
– Storybook Adventurers, Ages 8 to 11, minimum of 9 hours of reading in 30 minute
sessions to earn completion and can earn up to 60 activity badges
• Teen
– Ages 11 to 18, minimum of 10.5 hours of reading to earn completion and can earn
up to 7 activity badges containing multiple activities
5. 2020 Summer Reading Programs
• Adult
– Ages 18 and up, minimum of 3 books to earn completion, can complete up to 9
books and earn up to 24 activity badges
• All Abilities
– Ages 0 and up, can earn badges for reading up to 20 books and can earn up to
30 activity badges (This program was created with our special needs patrons in
mind)
• Red Stick @Home
– Ages 5 and up, can earn up to 33 activity badges by exploring our local
community during the summer (this may be subject to additional badges before
June 1)
7. Staff Login Home
People
• Find a person – can search by first and last name,
username, phone, or email
• Add offline reader – to register patrons not wishing to use
the online system, they prefer the paper log (can also be
found on home screen)
• Add an account creator and reader – to add an online
account for a patron (though they can do this step from
any smart device or computer)
• View reader experience – switches to the reader’s
interface

11. Adding an Offline Reader
Patron does not want to use online system – STAFF enters these
• From staff login home, click on in left navigation bar
• Fill in all information – don’t forget phone and/or email if they wish to be eligible
for our drawings
– They can show progress to staff and staff will enter their logging
– They will be counted in our statistics
– No need for paper tracking!
• Click to save
• Give the patron a paper reading log (staff can look them up and log their
progress from any branch)

12. Search for a Patron
• From staff login home, click on

– Type in first and last name, username, phone, or email

• Find correct name under Reader column
– From here, staff can:
– Edit reader
– Reset password
– Delete reader, if authorized

14. Joining Challenges
First steps after registration
• In top left of the screen, there is a
drop down menu to change the active
reader
• Choose a challenge to register for and
click the red registration button
• Registering for challenges will unlock
a registration badge

reading by the book
• Our older Elementary (Heroes in

• Logging badges count toward earning
incentives
*All Abilities

16. Activity Badges
Earned by Completing Activities!
• Activity Badges are included in all program
challenges!
• Each challenge’s activities are designed for the
appropriate ages for that challenge
– They include activities ranging from “Learn a new
nursery rhyme” to “Visit the Nation Geographic
Magazine Archive”
– Some include text boxes for answers
– Some include URL links to direct the patrons to our
website or community websites
• Activity Badges do NOT count toward earning
incentives
18. Redeeming Completions (NOT Drawings)
• Go to “People” and choose “Find a Person”
• Search for your patron
• Find the appropriate name in the Reader column
• Click on the present icon next to their name
• Check off the appropriate redeemed reward for completion (Note: all
drawing winners will be handled through Main Admin and sent to the
appropriate branch along with the incentive to be picked up)
20. Get Familiar with the Challenges

• Sign in using your staff username and password (see slide 3)
• Once logged in, create a “new reader” using your own name and then create a
“child” account with you as the “parent”
• Register yourself and the “child” for challenges
– Log reading (log fake titles and minutes)
– Complete activities (you can just check them!)
– Complete the program
• Get as familiar as you can before May 26! We go live on June 1!
