 In this instance though the meeting of the full Council rejected the
recommendation of its own specialist staff and despite our client being

campaign.

Council decided to pay the extra $400k and overturn the
recommendation of its staff.

 This is a very disappointing result for our client and this is the first time
in my career as a tender writer that I have seen this happen and where
a competitor has won a tender with such a disparity in prices.
 But I also understand as a registered Lobbyist that local Councils at
times are a law unto themselves and do whatever they want and flout
normal conventions.
 In these situations it is no good complaining or trying to raise hell with
the issue – because it will do our client no good.

 We just have to accept the decision and hope that the local ratepayers
complain about the lack of value for money and how the local supplier
is ripping off the town with their exorbitant prices.

those situations no matter how much we don’t agree with them.
