Descriptive Essay About My City
Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town,
whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our
local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often
take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We
often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights
that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my
town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park.
Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining
restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the
needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and
widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of
Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to
complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small
bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a
biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings
consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow

Great waves toss and turn with great force. Rushing as they collide with the earth soaking the soft
sand. The ocean seemed to be howling as every wave grew as tall as a mountain. Slowly, the
water creeps forward, then lazily seeping back in the vast ocean, only to do the same over and
over again. The deep sea is a mysterious place where sea creatures lurk beneath the waves. Blue,
sparkling water is everywhere you look with no end. The humming waves seem to whisper as if
telling me the most confidential secret. You can never really hear them clearly until you dive in
deeper and deeper. I breathe in the warm air as I gaze out at my beautiful home. So wide I'm not
even certain I've seen all it's beauty that lies beneath. I can see the shadows of tiny fish swimming
above the soft sand. They are so small they look as though they are microscopic. I reach down and
run my hands through the wet substance that is so thick that my muscles grow tired the deeper
my hand goes. As I lift my hand up, the sand makes a cloud of powder, slowly drifting through the
water. The waters are so calm as though nothing could anger them. Each wave slowly rocking
back and forth to the rhythm of the sea. I lower my fins beneath the water and a coolness rushes
through me as I feel the cold, wet water. The soft breeze brushes against my skin with the scent of
an indescribable satisfaction. Hours passed as the warmth of the sun seemed to just soak into my
skin and relax my mind. As the day goes on, it

Descriptive Essay : Words, Words
Words? What is the meaning of words? Through someone's aspect, it could be considered as the
most efficient communicating tool of human being. On the other hand, some people may treat it as
an irreplaceable expression of their emotion. Objectively speaking, "words" could definitely be
concluded in both ways above, but in my opinion, using words is a privilege and honor. I use
words to gain knowledge and words give me all kinds of possibilities of understanding new stuff
when I intend to enhance my personal abilities.
–When do you like words; when not? Mostly, words represents simple language communication and
stand for a carrier of people's emotion. For example, I felt very upset and frustrated when I got a
few deny letters from some universities I applied in the last year of my high school. During that
time, every single word from these letters turned to be sharp and dreadful. However, when I have
a chat with my old friends, I usually enjoy every moment of texting and also enjoy every word I
type during those chats. In general, whether I like or dislike some certain words, it is not only
depends on words itself, but also depends on the words–using in its different situations.
–What's easy; what's not? Personally, I think poems and some traditional literatures are very hard
for me. In contrast, I feel easy when I read novels and scientific papers.
–Who are you as a reader, writer, thinker, speaker, listener?
– If you're lucky enough to think, read, hear, write in

Descriptive Essay On The Desert
The hot, arid air burned into my soul as I faced the barren desert surrounding me. My family and I
were on a long–awaited vacation to the Grand Canyon, yet we had to drive over 15 hours – I
radiated impatience throughout the journey. Walls of heat shrouded me as I gasped for air– my
efforts were fruitless, however, swallowing nothing but fire. As the fire in my lungs grew, I
looked out the window and into the looming suns heart. Suddenly, my eyes collapsed and tears
engulfed them till they took their true form; a forest blanketed with soft, gleaming snow.
However, I was evoked from my reverie by a vehement cry and I was staring into the eyes of
tattered vultures, of every discrepancy, who recited a prophecy only I could hear. "Who dares enter
our land!" they screeched in a dissonant manner. Trembling, I gazed at the sun and was standing
amidst a perpetual desert – the vultures' eyes glued to me. I froze with fear, though the sun baked
my skin. "A meal for today," the vultures rasped flamboyantly, "cooked to a crisp!" "Uh," I sighed,
"I couldn't wait 10 minutes to save me from you repulsive demons!" I woke up like a corpse rises
from the grave, my red eyes flooded with tears. The cool air lulled my throat; dissipating the faint
memory of a raging fire and loathsome vultures scavenging my flesh. As the tears coated my face, I
sat up until a symphony of cracks sang from my spine. Despite the agonizing pain, I turned around
and the world revealed itself as a contemporary

Description of My Room Essay
The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the
place where I can really be myself and do what I want; it's the place I come home to, and wake up
every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always
crazy, with my dog barking, and my siblings running around making noise, my room is the only
place in the house where I can come and relax without caring about everything else, the only place
that I can go to clear my mind.
My room has many characteristics of which I share; it has many pictures that I have taken, about
my friends or other interesting things that I have found. It is the only place that I can make my own,
I can be creative and decorate...show more content...
Another reason that my room makes me feel comfortable is that I love to dance, but I am
embarrassed to do it in front of other people, so whenever I am in my room I can turn the radio
and put on some of my favorite music and dance my best. My room gives me the confidence that I
don't have in other places, it helps me to have trust in myself, I can do the most ridiculous thing
but my room won't say anything, it will never judge me. My room is the only place where I will
try new things and if I feel confident I will try them outside of it. I will give it my best and that is
how my room helps me, by doing something there first I believe more in myself.
It is the place where I can concentrate and think about everything that is going on around me, not
only around my city or state, but all over the world. I get the chance to relax and think in what I
want to do with my life, the kind of future I want to achieve. My room is the place where I can go
and do my homework without getting distracted, where I can write down my feelings and open
my mind to new ideas. Many times I have gone to my room and just write about things that are
going around in the world that will affect me sooner or later, like global warming. I will think about
everything I have heard, and my room makes me feel comfortable like there is nothing that can stop
me from making a comment and saying what is on my mind.
The way I act in my bedroom, and the way I act outside are

Description Of My Physical Body
Describing my physical body, I have an oval head shape and I have fair skin complexion. My eyes
are small and bright. My lips are puffy and big, I have white teeth, which brings out my smile. My
siblings always make jokes about how big my nose is, but I honestly think that I have the cutest
noise on earth. My nose is wide and curved. My eyebrows are not thick, but I love them and they
make look different. This because I have a cut in between my left eyebrows and it makes me
different. The color of my hair is brown, the texture is kinky and it is long and thick. I am 5'11
and I weigh 195 pounds. I have broad shoulders and a full figured body. My favorite part about my
physical body is my smile. Smiling brings out my inner beauty and I love to smile a lot even
when I am down. I can never go a day without smiling. I know that I can always smile even though
I may be hurt inside. I smile through my pain, and I know that smiling can brighten up someone
else's day and that makes me feel good about myself. It is good to smile because it can help others
think about me in a positive way and not judge. It also draws people closer and they find it
comforting and warming. If I have a mean face all the time, people would not want to come around
me. One's body is what makes us who we are as a person. Self–image is not something a person is
born with. In my opinion, self–image is built over a long period of experience and cultural
background. Everyone is unique in his or her

The Importance Of Descriptive Writing
The use of descriptive writing is often found in works of fiction, giving the reader the opportunity to
visualize the world that the author wants them to see. Descriptive writing becomes much more
valuable, however, when it is used in non–fiction works that may be used to survive. The ability to
precisely describe plants, animals, and the environment can be the difference between life and death.
This was indeed the case with the journals of the early explorers Meriwether Lewis, William Clark,
and other party members as they explored North America in the early 1800s. The accounts produced
by members of the expedition party, both written and drawn, would eventually lead to the expansion
of the United States by providing accurate and...show more content...
The men on this journey were all healthy young men excited about a paid adventure. One must
consider the exertion the expedition party faced and be able to compare the party's progress against
one's own ability. If the men grew tired over a stretch of land, then the later traveler must be aware of
their own capability and accept their limitations when considering the explorer's timeframe and the
amount of ground covered.
After an accident with a canoe, which occurred on the 6th of August 1805, had left Whitehouse
and Clark injured Lewis wrote, "Whitehouse is in much pain this evening with the injury one of
his legs sustained from the canoe today at the time it upset and swing over him. Capt Clarks
ankle is also very painfull [sic] to him. We should have given the party a days [sic] rest some
where [sic] near this place". Since the injuries occurred, the party continued to walk for at least 10
miles before setting up camp. This was an impressive venture, considering Whitehouse could have
died had the water been any shallower. The men's ability to continue their journey despite injuries
was remarkable and not easily replicated. A later traveler should recognize this feat and should not
compare himself to the accomplishment of the expedition party. Lewis had even wanted to stop the
party to give the injured men at least a day's rest, but they persevered. Also, the fact that members of
the party were injured, was not necessary to include. It would

Descriptive Essay On Fire
Personal Metaphor Writing Assignment
Fire is one of the few elements that does not exist in a natural state. In order to exist it must
consume, transforming matter and changing the world. It is unforgiving and resolute in its effort
to grow larger, and burns with intensity and passion. I am fire. In pursuing my goals I can be
relentless, perhaps to the point of disillusion. Such relentless spirit is fueled with zeal, a "fire" that
one has to be careful not to put out. It is due to these qualities that I am akin to flame, qualities I
will further explain over the course of this essay.
By nature, fire is aggressive and relentless. It is hot, spreads rapidly, and before you know it you
have a blazing inferno on your hands. I am not aggressive in the sense that I enjoy fighting (though
perhaps that's not entirely true as I do wrestle and box), but in that I am relentless in pursuing my
goals. To be relentless does not mean to neverwant to give up, to not feel fear or doubt; to be
relentless is to continue onward despite those pressures, despite failure. I have failed many times
in my life already, and will undoubtedly have many more failures as time progresses. In spite of
this, for each of those failures lies either a success or a lesson, and so I do not fear failing again. I
will surely not enjoy it, but I will not fear it. Once you have failed there is nowhere to go but up.
For example, very recently I had a wrestling tournament where I did not do as well as I would
have liked to. I let my nerves get to me, and they drastically affected my performance. While I
would have loved to have done better, I now understand what I need to work on and what I will
work on to do better in the future. Winning gold at a tournament is always a great feeling, but I do
not learn as much from those successes. Failure is what allows me to grow and have the success I
seek. It is in my nature to not give up that I am fire, working with effort to keep myself ablaze.
Fire, in its effort to spread and conflagrate, can become its own undoing. It may spread itself too
thin and thus putter out. I find that in wanting to try and have new experiences and generally
improve as a person, I often spread myself too thin. I have a habit of

Descriptive Essay About Art
The more I learn about art in art class the more I pay attention to everything I see. I try to
understand the meaning of each art I see, and what the artist is trying to inform me or to the
world. In the study of art you have to pay attention to every detail in an art work and what color or
shapes he or she used. Of all the art works that I saw in the Museum of Fine Arts, there were three
art works which I preferred out of hundreds of arts works in the museum. The very first art work
that I saw at the museum is one of my favorite ones. The artist that created the art work his name is
Frederic Remington. His art work is an American made in 1861–1909. The painting was made with
oil paint on canvas to make it look shinny. The painting is representational because the three horse
raiders resemble real things from the real world. In this painting Frederic Remington creates
tension by suspending the action at its climax. As the raiders and horses rush headlong into the
viewer's space, the fate of the fallen raider is unclear. While the facial expressions of the raiders
appear calm, the rearing heads and flared nostrils of the horses convey the horror of the scene. His
painting catches your eye right away because of the light colors he uses to distinguish between the
sky and the terrain. The color of the sky looks very realistic because of the combination of colors
blue and white. Yet he didn't use white for the clouds, but you can tell that it is sunny because of the
shadow that

Description of My Best Friend
DESCRIPTION OF MY BEST FRIEND
Azeneth has been my best friend for the last 6 years. I know her since I entered high school and
since that day we have become the most inseparable friends in the world. I have much affection to
her because we have lived many things together, through thick and thin, she always has been there
for me when I needed her.
I remember the day I met her, it was the first day of high school and I was very nervous because I did
not know anybody from there. I remember that day like it had been yesterday. It was 6:40 in the
morning so the sky was dark like it was still nighttime, it was raining and there was too much traffic

always say to her she should dedicate to bake when she get older. She could put a cake store and I

The only defect I can found to her is her boyfriend. They have been dating for approximately two
years but they have a really bad relationship. The guy is very jealous and controlling. When I go
out with her, he is constantly calling, asking her where is she and with who, those typical
questions that crazy boyfriends make. He gets really angry when my friend wears a dress and he
always tries to convince her to get changed but she never listens to him and that is why they are
always discussing and having problems. I have talk to her many times and told her that she should
end that relationship, "you are living in hell'', I told her one day, because its true, I do not like this
guy for her.
But anyways, out of that, I really love this girl, she is like the sister I never had. She is always there
for me when I need her, when I feel sad she tries to make me laugh and she always achieves that. I
think that nowadays is really difficult to find sincere friendships like ours and I am really happy I
met her. They say that friends are like a sister destiny forgot to give and I think this fits up really
well. Because we act like we were

Descriptive Essay About A Hero
When talking about a hero, some people might think of a veteran, a fire fighter, or even
superman. The definition of the word "hero" varies between different people; however, my
definition of a hero is someone who is selfless, brave, and strong. Someone who doesn't runaway
when things get hard, who gives their all just for the wellbeing of others regardless of the strain it
puts on themselves. When thinking of the word "hero" the only person who comes to my mind
is my cousin Cassy. Cassy fits my own personal description of a hero; she is selfless, brave, and
strong. She doesn't run away when things get tough and most importantly, she looks out for
others no matter what the situation is. What is a hero to you? On September 24th of 2017, my
parents, along with my sister and I, walked into my grandma's house around three o'clock in the
afternoon. My aunt Patty had told us she had very important news for us to hear that evening. As
we sat down in the living room of my grandma's small condo, everybody looked at one another
awkwardly waiting for someone to speak first. My mom started the conversation by asking how
long my aunt was going to be in town. My aunt slightly teared up as she tried to spit out her
response. She began to tell us that she was actually moving back home to Fargo from the farm
place her and her boyfriend lived at near Devils Lake. My aunt started to stutter after a while and

My definition for home cannot be described by words or by a simple thought, but home is rather

where exactly that place was, and I didn't know that the answer was always right in front of me.
This feeling would come and go, and I would never recognize it because I knew that only the

The city that once had homed thousands and been the most economically successful country ever,

Descriptive Essay About Doctor's Office
I've seen disinfectant commercials where the customer is blindfolded and surrounded by garbage
and asked, "Can you tell where you are right now?" The customer answers "It smells so good in
here, is it a meadow or something?" Then the blindfold is removed and the customer is shocked,
never imagining a room full of garbage could smell so clean. My doctor's office is kind of like
that commercial. It seems nice and pretty; it usually smells of some kind of disinfectant. This past
year I've spent a lot of time at my doctor's office. Sometimes I'd be there for hours, my phone
would die and I would just sit there, looking around. It wasn't until I started looking deeper that I
realized I was surrounded; my doctor's office is overflowing with metaphorical garbage; it's a
place to dump low income kids and their families. For ease of reading I will refer to my doctor's
office as Garbage Clinic. Garbage Clinic sits on the second floor of a large building. The first
time I went to Garbage Clinic I got lost. It's a large grey building with intimidating architecture;
there are three sets of doors in the front of the building, but only one is ever unlocked. The first
floor didn't seem like a clinic to me. I was expecting old people and sick people. I was surprised
when I didn't see any little kids running around while their parents tirelessly try to corral them.
Instead the facility seemed empty. I've always thought of the downstairs clinic as 'Rich Clinic'.

Descriptive Essay About The Sun
Yearning for the urge to see the sun as it moves around the earth and stops in Orlando, thi would be
the first time I get to see the sun shine its light on the dirt diamond and bring life to the blades of
grass that lie in the shape of a quarter circle. The sun overcomes the gigantic trees, leaving the human
eye to see the tiny drops of water on every perfectly cut dark green blade of grass; not a single blade
out of place. The dull yellow along with the tangy orange light behind the soft grey clouds, slowly
moving with the spin of the world, illuminate the diamond in such beauty and awe, too good not to
capture. The diamond is amazing; the sun reflects the little specks of dirt as if they are glowing.
Looking over the woven yellow fence, the clouds partially cover the sun and direct its rays through
the gap in the trees; it looks as if the sun is trying to hide behind the trees, but keeps popping out
like a little kid playing peek–a–boo. The sun that breaks through lets a white puff of smoke to
appear every time my lungs let out air, they breathe in the fresh cold air, bringing new life to the
body every time. The crisp air is blended into the smell of the sugary cake that was made the night
before at the building less than sixty feet away from where I began my day, and as it sinks into my
nose making the morning savory and sweet, I realize the day is going to be a new experience.

sea, Sydney's beaches are one of the numerous tourist attractions that the destination has to offer. The
great infrastructure of the Opera house and Harbour Bridge and natural beauty present in Sydney's
beaches and National Parks makes it an ideal destination for tourists near and far. Since hosting the
2000 Olympic games, Sydney has had the opportunity to host numerous major events and offer
convention and exhibition space. The olympic park facility is now home to about 45 international
events per year.
Sydney has hosts almost 3 million international visitors that spend almost 59 million nights in the
city and about 6 billion dollars. Visitors come from all over the world from China, Germany, the UK,
and the US to name a few. Sydney also hosts about 50,000 international students whose education
contributes almost 2 billion dollars for the local economy. National tourists frequent the attractions
more than international, as the number skyrockets to about 8 million. This number is at its peak
during school holidays. Similar to life here in Orlando, everything you would want and need is right
up the highway at your disposal. Tourism in Sydney has created 26,700 jobs due to tourism and
contributes an average of $36 million to the city per day. While there are many reasons to visit the
country down under between the beaches, the zoos, the food and much more we are going to start
off with ever so famous Sydney Opera House. It holds the number one destination to visit while
one is in Sydney Australia and see 400 million different visitors a year. It is one of the best known
architectural buildings in the world, being able to be recognized by anyone. Secondly are the
beaches. Right off the city there are beaches that stretch from miles and miles down the island
that include parades and some of the clearest water one will ever set their eyes on. Just watch out
for the great whites. Sydney is less than 30 minutes away from Queensland that is home to the
Great Barrier Reef where a visitor will have the privilege to see the Coral Reef as well as visit the
Australia Zoo which is widely known as the Steve Irwin Zoo.

Essay Description

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About My City Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town, whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park. Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Great waves toss and turn with great force. Rushing as they collide with the earth soaking the soft sand. The ocean seemed to be howling as every wave grew as tall as a mountain. Slowly, the water creeps forward, then lazily seeping back in the vast ocean, only to do the same over and over again. The deep sea is a mysterious place where sea creatures lurk beneath the waves. Blue, sparkling water is everywhere you look with no end. The humming waves seem to whisper as if telling me the most confidential secret. You can never really hear them clearly until you dive in deeper and deeper. I breathe in the warm air as I gaze out at my beautiful home. So wide I'm not even certain I've seen all it's beauty that lies beneath. I can see the shadows of tiny fish swimming above the soft sand. They are so small they look as though they are microscopic. I reach down and run my hands through the wet substance that is so thick that my muscles grow tired the deeper my hand goes. As I lift my hand up, the sand makes a cloud of powder, slowly drifting through the water. The waters are so calm as though nothing could anger them. Each wave slowly rocking back and forth to the rhythm of the sea. I lower my fins beneath the water and a coolness rushes through me as I feel the cold, wet water. The soft breeze brushes against my skin with the scent of an indescribable satisfaction. Hours passed as the warmth of the sun seemed to just soak into my skin and relax my mind. As the day goes on, it Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Essay : Words, Words Words? What is the meaning of words? Through someone's aspect, it could be considered as the most efficient communicating tool of human being. On the other hand, some people may treat it as an irreplaceable expression of their emotion. Objectively speaking, "words" could definitely be concluded in both ways above, but in my opinion, using words is a privilege and honor. I use words to gain knowledge and words give me all kinds of possibilities of understanding new stuff when I intend to enhance my personal abilities. –When do you like words; when not? Mostly, words represents simple language communication and stand for a carrier of people's emotion. For example, I felt very upset and frustrated when I got a few deny letters from some universities I applied in the last year of my high school. During that time, every single word from these letters turned to be sharp and dreadful. However, when I have a chat with my old friends, I usually enjoy every moment of texting and also enjoy every word I type during those chats. In general, whether I like or dislike some certain words, it is not only depends on words itself, but also depends on the words–using in its different situations. –What's easy; what's not? Personally, I think poems and some traditional literatures are very hard for me. In contrast, I feel easy when I read novels and scientific papers. –Who are you as a reader, writer, thinker, speaker, listener? – If you're lucky enough to think, read, hear, write in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Descriptive Essay On The Desert The hot, arid air burned into my soul as I faced the barren desert surrounding me. My family and I were on a long–awaited vacation to the Grand Canyon, yet we had to drive over 15 hours – I radiated impatience throughout the journey. Walls of heat shrouded me as I gasped for air– my efforts were fruitless, however, swallowing nothing but fire. As the fire in my lungs grew, I looked out the window and into the looming suns heart. Suddenly, my eyes collapsed and tears engulfed them till they took their true form; a forest blanketed with soft, gleaming snow. However, I was evoked from my reverie by a vehement cry and I was staring into the eyes of tattered vultures, of every discrepancy, who recited a prophecy only I could hear. "Who dares enter our land!" they screeched in a dissonant manner. Trembling, I gazed at the sun and was standing amidst a perpetual desert – the vultures' eyes glued to me. I froze with fear, though the sun baked my skin. "A meal for today," the vultures rasped flamboyantly, "cooked to a crisp!" "Uh," I sighed, "I couldn't wait 10 minutes to save me from you repulsive demons!" I woke up like a corpse rises from the grave, my red eyes flooded with tears. The cool air lulled my throat; dissipating the faint memory of a raging fire and loathsome vultures scavenging my flesh. As the tears coated my face, I sat up until a symphony of cracks sang from my spine. Despite the agonizing pain, I turned around and the world revealed itself as a contemporary Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Description of My Room Essay The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the place where I can really be myself and do what I want; it's the place I come home to, and wake up every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always crazy, with my dog barking, and my siblings running around making noise, my room is the only place in the house where I can come and relax without caring about everything else, the only place that I can go to clear my mind. My room has many characteristics of which I share; it has many pictures that I have taken, about my friends or other interesting things that I have found. It is the only place that I can make my own, I can be creative and decorate...show more content... Another reason that my room makes me feel comfortable is that I love to dance, but I am embarrassed to do it in front of other people, so whenever I am in my room I can turn the radio and put on some of my favorite music and dance my best. My room gives me the confidence that I don't have in other places, it helps me to have trust in myself, I can do the most ridiculous thing but my room won't say anything, it will never judge me. My room is the only place where I will try new things and if I feel confident I will try them outside of it. I will give it my best and that is how my room helps me, by doing something there first I believe more in myself. It is the place where I can concentrate and think about everything that is going on around me, not only around my city or state, but all over the world. I get the chance to relax and think in what I want to do with my life, the kind of future I want to achieve. My room is the place where I can go and do my homework without getting distracted, where I can write down my feelings and open my mind to new ideas. Many times I have gone to my room and just write about things that are going around in the world that will affect me sooner or later, like global warming. I will think about everything I have heard, and my room makes me feel comfortable like there is nothing that can stop me from making a comment and saying what is on my mind. The way I act in my bedroom, and the way I act outside are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Description Of My Physical Body Describing my physical body, I have an oval head shape and I have fair skin complexion. My eyes are small and bright. My lips are puffy and big, I have white teeth, which brings out my smile. My siblings always make jokes about how big my nose is, but I honestly think that I have the cutest noise on earth. My nose is wide and curved. My eyebrows are not thick, but I love them and they make look different. This because I have a cut in between my left eyebrows and it makes me different. The color of my hair is brown, the texture is kinky and it is long and thick. I am 5'11 and I weigh 195 pounds. I have broad shoulders and a full figured body. My favorite part about my physical body is my smile. Smiling brings out my inner beauty and I love to smile a lot even when I am down. I can never go a day without smiling. I know that I can always smile even though I may be hurt inside. I smile through my pain, and I know that smiling can brighten up someone else's day and that makes me feel good about myself. It is good to smile because it can help others think about me in a positive way and not judge. It also draws people closer and they find it comforting and warming. If I have a mean face all the time, people would not want to come around me. One's body is what makes us who we are as a person. Self–image is not something a person is born with. In my opinion, self–image is built over a long period of experience and cultural background. Everyone is unique in his or her Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Importance Of Descriptive Writing The use of descriptive writing is often found in works of fiction, giving the reader the opportunity to visualize the world that the author wants them to see. Descriptive writing becomes much more valuable, however, when it is used in non–fiction works that may be used to survive. The ability to precisely describe plants, animals, and the environment can be the difference between life and death. This was indeed the case with the journals of the early explorers Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and other party members as they explored North America in the early 1800s. The accounts produced by members of the expedition party, both written and drawn, would eventually lead to the expansion of the United States by providing accurate and...show more content... The men on this journey were all healthy young men excited about a paid adventure. One must consider the exertion the expedition party faced and be able to compare the party's progress against one's own ability. If the men grew tired over a stretch of land, then the later traveler must be aware of their own capability and accept their limitations when considering the explorer's timeframe and the amount of ground covered. After an accident with a canoe, which occurred on the 6th of August 1805, had left Whitehouse and Clark injured Lewis wrote, "Whitehouse is in much pain this evening with the injury one of his legs sustained from the canoe today at the time it upset and swing over him. Capt Clarks ankle is also very painfull [sic] to him. We should have given the party a days [sic] rest some where [sic] near this place". Since the injuries occurred, the party continued to walk for at least 10 miles before setting up camp. This was an impressive venture, considering Whitehouse could have died had the water been any shallower. The men's ability to continue their journey despite injuries was remarkable and not easily replicated. A later traveler should recognize this feat and should not compare himself to the accomplishment of the expedition party. Lewis had even wanted to stop the party to give the injured men at least a day's rest, but they persevered. Also, the fact that members of the party were injured, was not necessary to include. • 9. Descriptive Essay On Fire Personal Metaphor Writing Assignment Fire is one of the few elements that does not exist in a natural state. In order to exist it must consume, transforming matter and changing the world. It is unforgiving and resolute in its effort to grow larger, and burns with intensity and passion. I am fire. In pursuing my goals I can be relentless, perhaps to the point of disillusion. Such relentless spirit is fueled with zeal, a "fire" that one has to be careful not to put out. It is due to these qualities that I am akin to flame, qualities I will further explain over the course of this essay. By nature, fire is aggressive and relentless. It is hot, spreads rapidly, and before you know it you have a blazing inferno on your hands. I am not aggressive in the sense that I enjoy fighting (though perhaps that's not entirely true as I do wrestle and box), but in that I am relentless in pursuing my goals. To be relentless does not mean to neverwant to give up, to not feel fear or doubt; to be relentless is to continue onward despite those pressures, despite failure. I have failed many times in my life already, and will undoubtedly have many more failures as time progresses. In spite of this, for each of those failures lies either a success or a lesson, and so I do not fear failing again. I will surely not enjoy it, but I will not fear it. Once you have failed there is nowhere to go but up. For example, very recently I had a wrestling tournament where I did not do as well as I would have liked to. I let my nerves get to me, and they drastically affected my performance. While I would have loved to have done better, I now understand what I need to work on and what I will work on to do better in the future. Winning gold at a tournament is always a great feeling, but I do not learn as much from those successes. Failure is what allows me to grow and have the success I seek. It is in my nature to not give up that I am fire, working with effort to keep myself ablaze. Fire, in its effort to spread and conflagrate, can become its own undoing. It may spread itself too thin and thus putter out. I find that in wanting to try and have new experiences and generally improve as a person, I often spread myself too thin. I have a habit of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Descriptive Essay About Art The more I learn about art in art class the more I pay attention to everything I see. I try to understand the meaning of each art I see, and what the artist is trying to inform me or to the world. In the study of art you have to pay attention to every detail in an art work and what color or shapes he or she used. Of all the art works that I saw in the Museum of Fine Arts, there were three art works which I preferred out of hundreds of arts works in the museum. The very first art work that I saw at the museum is one of my favorite ones. The artist that created the art work his name is Frederic Remington. His art work is an American made in 1861–1909. The painting was made with oil paint on canvas to make it look shinny. The painting is representational because the three horse raiders resemble real things from the real world. In this painting Frederic Remington creates tension by suspending the action at its climax. As the raiders and horses rush headlong into the viewer's space, the fate of the fallen raider is unclear. While the facial expressions of the raiders appear calm, the rearing heads and flared nostrils of the horses convey the horror of the scene. His painting catches your eye right away because of the light colors he uses to distinguish between the sky and the terrain. The color of the sky looks very realistic because of the combination of colors blue and white. Yet he didn't use white for the clouds, but you can tell that it is sunny because of the shadow that Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 12. Description of My Best Friend DESCRIPTION OF MY BEST FRIEND Azeneth has been my best friend for the last 6 years. I know her since I entered high school and since that day we have become the most inseparable friends in the world. I have much affection to her because we have lived many things together, through thick and thin, she always has been there for me when I needed her. I remember the day I met her, it was the first day of high school and I was very nervous because I did not know anybody from there. I remember that day like it had been yesterday. It was 6:40 in the morning so the sky was dark like it was still nighttime, it was raining and there was too much traffic on the street. I always say to her she should dedicate to bake when she get older. She could put a cake store and I am pretty sure she would be very successful. The only defect I can found to her is her boyfriend. They have been dating for approximately two years but they have a really bad relationship. The guy is very jealous and controlling. When I go out with her, he is constantly calling, asking her where is she and with who, those typical questions that crazy boyfriends make. He gets really angry when my friend wears a dress and he always tries to convince her to get changed but she never listens to him and that is why they are always discussing and having problems. I have talk to her many times and told her that she should end that relationship, "you are living in hell'', I told her one day, because its true, I do not like this guy for her. But anyways, out of that, I really love this girl, she is like the sister I never had. She is always there for me when I need her, when I feel sad she tries to make me laugh and she always achieves that. I think that nowadays is really difficult to find sincere friendships like ours and I am really happy I met her. They say that friends are like a sister destiny forgot to give and I think this fits up really well. Because we act like we were Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 14. Descriptive Essay About A Hero When talking about a hero, some people might think of a veteran, a fire fighter, or even superman. The definition of the word "hero" varies between different people; however, my definition of a hero is someone who is selfless, brave, and strong. Someone who doesn't runaway when things get hard, who gives their all just for the wellbeing of others regardless of the strain it puts on themselves. When thinking of the word "hero" the only person who comes to my mind is my cousin Cassy. Cassy fits my own personal description of a hero; she is selfless, brave, and strong. She doesn't run away when things get tough and most importantly, she looks out for others no matter what the situation is. What is a hero to you? On September 24th of 2017, my parents, along with my sister and I, walked into my grandma's house around three o'clock in the afternoon. My aunt Patty had told us she had very important news for us to hear that evening. As we sat down in the living room of my grandma's small condo, everybody looked at one another awkwardly waiting for someone to speak first. My mom started the conversation by asking how long my aunt was going to be in town. My aunt slightly teared up as she tried to spit out her response. She began to tell us that she was actually moving back home to Fargo from the farm place her and her boyfriend lived at near Devils Lake. My aunt started to stutter after a while and then finally blurted out the sentence that nobody ever wants to hear come from a loved Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Descriptive Essay About Home My definition for home cannot be described by words or by a simple thought, but home is rather of a feeling. Home is the calmness and serenity that settles over me like a blanket on a cold snowy night, just a silent assurance telling me I belong there. It took me quite a bit of time to understand where exactly that place was, and I didn't know that the answer was always right in front of me. This feeling would come and go, and I would never recognize it because I knew that only the house I lived in was my home. I never realized that the place I lived was not my home, that home was in fact more than what the words in the dictionary say. When I was younger, I lived in the Philippines, my backyard were the rice fields and I would...show more content... During lunch, my grandma and mother would cook in the kitchen and set up the food in the big picnic basket to later share with everyone. We would walk along to thefield and my job was to carry the cold water jug. As we reached the field, all the farmers would smile and greet us, and some would even admire me for being such a helper. At lunchtime, I sat there along with all those workers, eating with them and listening. Their conversations mostly consists of the weather and how they could improve the rice farm. Often, I would make a comment saying, "Don't worry, I will help", and they loved me. I was the farm's little helper–––this was my home. There was a tiny pond with a small bridge in beside our old house. The water was so clear that you could see your reflection, just like a mirror. The summer was the fishing season; I was on a mission. I had my bright–pink, half gallon bucket in one hand and a little piece of mosquito net on the other. I wore my shorts and my favourite T–shirt, with my long hair tied back, a true fisher look, I thought. I put my biggest toe in first to check the temperature of the water, but I always ended up soaking myself all the way, up to my head trying to catch the fish –– now that's working hard! My friends and I filled that bright–pink bucket full and our hearts were filled with the sense of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Descriptive Essay On Dystopia Dystopian Setting The city that once had homed thousands and been the most economically successful country ever, was now a contaminated wasteland. The land looked dry, destroyed and lonely. The morning breeze felt like crying sorrows, and the grey deceitful sky awed down at us. In the deepest corner of despair lies dystopia where hope dies. As someone looks through the eyes of the devil, they see his utopia. Only visible by the dim light of the moon was the great wall. Beyond the wall? No one knew. Stretching away from the wall was a humongous bridge that towered the wall. Standing tall on the bridge was a tower, which had two circles that almost looked like eyes. Those mysterious, creepy and dangerous looking eyes stared down at the city giving away a haunting look. The reek of death hangs in the air throughout the land. Filling the mouths of those who lived in this abandoned land was the taste of burnt garlic. The screams and cries of terror undistinguishable between beast and human fill the ears of the last ones living. The sky, which was lit by the glow of fires, is grey and empty. Decaying bodies and...show more content... As I walked, the air of this haunted, dreadful and sorrowful land had sucked the life out of everything and roared as humanity began to disappear. Aggressively, the wind walked past the building with its cruddy feeling, blowing away all signs of life. Deeper and deeper into the land was a burning car door. The fire roared and crackled. The roaring and crackling of the burning car door merged with the aggressive air and created the loudest sounds ever heard on land. Growing darker, the skies made me feel nauseous. The fear of not waking up if a human fell asleep towered Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Descriptive Essay About Doctor's Office I've seen disinfectant commercials where the customer is blindfolded and surrounded by garbage and asked, "Can you tell where you are right now?" The customer answers "It smells so good in here, is it a meadow or something?" Then the blindfold is removed and the customer is shocked, never imagining a room full of garbage could smell so clean. My doctor's office is kind of like that commercial. It seems nice and pretty; it usually smells of some kind of disinfectant. This past year I've spent a lot of time at my doctor's office. Sometimes I'd be there for hours, my phone would die and I would just sit there, looking around. It wasn't until I started looking deeper that I realized I was surrounded; my doctor's office is overflowing with metaphorical garbage; it's a place to dump low income kids and their families. For ease of reading I will refer to my doctor's office as Garbage Clinic. Garbage Clinic sits on the second floor of a large building. The first time I went to Garbage Clinic I got lost. It's a large grey building with intimidating architecture; there are three sets of doors in the front of the building, but only one is ever unlocked. The first floor didn't seem like a clinic to me. I was expecting old people and sick people. I was surprised when I didn't see any little kids running around while their parents tirelessly try to corral them. Instead the facility seemed empty. I've always thought of the downstairs clinic as 'Rich Clinic'. There's a lone security guard Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Descriptive Essay About The Sun Yearning for the urge to see the sun as it moves around the earth and stops in Orlando, thi would be the first time I get to see the sun shine its light on the dirt diamond and bring life to the blades of grass that lie in the shape of a quarter circle. The sun overcomes the gigantic trees, leaving the human eye to see the tiny drops of water on every perfectly cut dark green blade of grass; not a single blade out of place. The dull yellow along with the tangy orange light behind the soft grey clouds, slowly moving with the spin of the world, illuminate the diamond in such beauty and awe, too good not to capture. The diamond is amazing; the sun reflects the little specks of dirt as if they are glowing. Looking over the woven yellow fence, the clouds partially cover the sun and direct its rays through the gap in the trees; it looks as if the sun is trying to hide behind the trees, but keeps popping out like a little kid playing peek–a–boo. The sun that breaks through lets a white puff of smoke to appear every time my lungs let out air, they breathe in the fresh cold air, bringing new life to the body every time. The crisp air is blended into the smell of the sugary cake that was made the night before at the building less than sixty feet away from where I began my day, and as it sinks into my nose making the morning savory and sweet, I realize the day is going to be a new experience. Although the wonderment of the diamond is breathtaking the view does not last long, for the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Located on the coast of the Tasman sea, Sydney's beaches are one of the numerous tourist attractions that the destination has to offer. The great infrastructure of the Opera house and Harbour Bridge and natural beauty present in Sydney's beaches and National Parks makes it an ideal destination for tourists near and far. It holds the number one destination to visit while one is in Sydney Australia and see 400 million different visitors a year. It is one of the best known architectural buildings in the world, being able to be recognized by anyone. Secondly are the beaches. Right off the city there are beaches that stretch from miles and miles down the island that include parades and some of the clearest water one will ever set their eyes on. Just watch out for the great whites. Sydney is less than 30 minutes away from Queensland that is home to the Great Barrier Reef where a visitor will have the privilege to see the Coral Reef as well as visit the Australia Zoo which is widely known as the Steve Irwin Zoo.
