Being A Mother : My Life Of My Mother
My mother is the most diligent worker I know and I highly respect her for that. My mom, sister,
and I moved across the globe to find better opportunities for jobs and Education. She worked two
jobs as a single mother, and was still able to take care of and support my sister and me in anything
we aspired to do. Being a mother itself is difficult enough because it is an everyday job with no
brakes or vacation. She is the person who inspires me and the person who motivates me to do my
best at everything I do. To her, my sister and I's happiness was worth more to her than her own and
for that I truly believe she is the best person in the world. Even when things get hard for her, she
does not take time out for herself. During the death of my grandfather, she had no time to grieve
over him because she told us that she has work to keep my sister and I fed and happy. That was
when I realized that if she is going through all the gruelling effort just to keep me and my sister
happy, then my goal in life would just to give back to her by making her proud of me. With her as
my motivation I joined things that would make her proud. Freshmen year, I auditioned for the high
school traveling band, which was a truly challenging band to get into. I was one of only six
freshmen to get in. Joining that band allowed me to experience my first time traveling with the
school across the country to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, one of the most prestigious
halls to perform in the world. I

My Mother And Mother
My mother was my primary caregiver throughout all of my childhood. While my father was in the
picture for a majority of my childhood, he was also a severe alcoholic which greatly impacted my
upbringing. My rules, obligations, and expectations were not always set in stone and did often
depend on the time, situation, and/or mood of my parents. I think it is normal for parents to differ
slightly in their parenting styles occasionally. As a young kid I remember my sister and I being very
aware that the mood my mother was in greatly contributed to the outcome of a question or event. I
think most, if not all of us can relate to this. Overall however, I would say that my mother had an
authoritative parenting style. My mother made is very clear that she was the parent and in charge,
however she was welcoming and understanding enough that I felt comfortable coming to her with
questions or problems. My mom was also very encouraging and supportive. She always pushed
me to do my best but never made me feel bad if I did not reach my goals. I was lucky to have such
a great relationship with my mom, not everyone does. As a young teenager I had many friends who
would come to me with questions and concerns because they knew my mom was so open–minded
and understanding. My mom was always my parent first and my friend second. I knew what was
expected of me and I was disciplined for bad behavior, however I always knew I could go to her with
anything I needed.
My father, like many addicts was

Profile of My Mother
Getting to know my Mom It took me eighteen years to spend some quality time with my mother
and discover what an incredible journey she has had with my brothers and me. She is the kind of
person who has always been very involved with all parts of our daily lives. In fact, she was the kind
of mother who always had time for her three sons, worked full–time and had time to devote to
community projects too. Her energy and enthusiasm for all of these things seemed endless and she
always tried to teach the three of us to see the value in the idea of giving back to the community. I
was always glad that she was present at my games and supported me through school, but it took me
over a decade to learn what motivated her to be so...show more content...
My mother also says, "...I am pretty sure God intended for me to have sons. I am more of a
tomboy than I am barbie doll. I am sure I would not have done well teaching a daughter how to do
all the girlie things. Not to mention, when my nieces were little, I noticed the drama began very
early on and they talked incessantly." Of course she winks and grins with these remarks. She was
like a second mother to my cousins and loves them dearly. As much as she is quick to point out
the reasons she loved having sons and why they are so easy to raise, there is more to this story. I
can 't count the times she has asked all of us why we need to scratch ourselves all of the time. This
is not something females understand. It is not something males really want or feel they need to
explain because it is just what we do. She can laugh about it and enjoyed imitating us and asking if
we would like to see her walking around the house in her underwear scratching or fondling her parts.
My mother was less tolerant of another brotherly trait – squabbling. That was another part of our
dynamic which just seemed normal to my brothers and me. We just liked to agitate each other. To
my mother this was upsetting because she didn 't want anyone hurt and she wanted to make sure
we had good relationships in the future. It was not easy for her to get us to engage in conversations
about feelings and relationships. Try as she might, we were most often not did not feel her same

Descriptive Essay About My Mom
In my 16 years of life thus far, few people have influenced me more than my mother. She is the
reason I have a life, after all, and I am extremely thankful for her and everything she does for me.
Mothers tend to be great listeners and advice–givers for their children. I am fortunate enough to have
my mother be a professional counselor, making her exceptional at both qualities. A couple of
years ago, she earned a master's degree, became both a school counselor and a clinical counselor,
and specialized in helping young people. This proved especially beneficial for me during my
awkward and confusing preteen years and remains that way during my late teen years. From
conferences and meetings, she learned about how the teenage brain grows and...show more content...
Stress about school, my appearance, my social status, my future, among other worries consumed my
thoughts, and I could not figure out why. To satisfy my problems, I came to the incorrect assumption
that nothing I did mattered in the long run. This only shifted my sadness from stress about
everything to the empty feeling that I was living for no reason. I drifted through the days,
attempting to forget about my ridiculous idea, but for some reason my birthday triggered the
insecurity inside. I tried to hide my pain, so no one would not worry about me. After a small
party with my family, during which I faked smiles and pretended to be happy, my mother
approached me in the kitchen of our house. Family tends to stay late at parties, so by the time
everyone was gone my father and siblings were already asleep, and my mother and I were basically
alone.
"What's the matter?" she said, affectionately. She explained that throughout the day she noticed my
sulking around the house, but did not want to confront me in front of our family.
"Nothing," I replied, "I'm fine." Most people would not like to delve any further than that; moody
kids are usually not the best conversationalists. She could have used this as a way out and gone to
bed and avoid discussing my odd behavior, but she wanted to confirm everything was honestly all
right, or rather, discover what was wrong.
"Seriously," she persisted. "I'm not going

Growing Lily
At age three I said "I love you mommy." At age seven I said, "Mom, stop kissing my cheek!" At age
fifteen I say, "You're so annoying– I can't wait to move out!" At age eighteen, I'll be saying "I miss
home." At age twenty–seven I'll be saying "I miss my mom." At age forty I'll be saying "I miss you
so much; I wish you didn't have to go." My mom is the sun to my shine. My mother is a hard worker.
She loves what she does for a living. She does arrangements for peoples' houses. I've seen her
work from 7 a.m. to midnight at times. The hard work pays off but most of her earnings go to bills
or groceries. When she has a new project, she goes shopping for flowers to make what mental image

under control when you're too rowdy and get angry when needed. Family is an important thing to my
mother. She loves to spend as much time as she can with them. She believes in the Hawaiian
saying, "Ohanna: Nobody gets left behind." This past summer we went on a cruise ship. The
whole side of my mom's family had gone. I enjoyed my time there, especially when we arrived in
Cozumel, MX. One of the most embarrassing things that could happen to me frightened my mom
to death. Purging is said to make you lose weight. The banging on the restroom door startled me
knowing I would be caught. From that point on she took extra care of my health. Looking after
what I ate, when I should exercise etc. When I was fourteen, my parents and I made a deal that if I
lost twenty pounds, I would be able to get my first tattoo. She supported me with it, thus, me losing
the weight. Not everyone grows up with manners. I have a high tolerance for respect. Growing up
going to church every Sunday due to my mom helped me adapt to maturity. Not that I'm highly
bipolar, but I do lose my temper really drastically. I've been taught by my mom to forgive and
forget. Through the worst of her times that people have put her through; she forgives. She tells me

A Gift for My Mother
The story "A Gift for My Mother" is a short story written by Viv McDade which deals with a family
of three; a set of parents and their daughter. The mother envies the beautiful houses with hallways
and moulded skirting boards on the other side of the railway, and she usually gets angry about the
differences between her own family and their property compared to the house on other side of the
railway. The mother is a housewife, and the narrator lets the reader get to know this on page 8,
where the father comes home with his paycheck and the mother responds "What you've earned isn't
enough for us to live on" (pg. 8). – Clearly the father's paycheck is what pays for the family. The
father on the other hand is a...show more content...
However the daughter states "I heard Dad's car and ran out to meet him" (pg. 8), so clearly they
must have enough money to own a car and pay the gas.
The main character has two different types of relationship to her parents. The relationship to her
dad, is a "daddy's little girl" relationship comprehended by the fact the father calls his daughter "my
precious" (pg. 8) and the main character sees her father as a down–to–earth superhero, so to say. – A
superhero in her everyday life. He gets paychecks, he helps her with school if she has a difficulty
and she enjoys getting help from him. She also enjoys letting him know if she did a good job in
school and as she tells him "'I was the only one who could spell illiterate,' I tell him" (pg. 8), he
responds by giving her a big compliment, which completes the idea of him being a superhero/loving
father. The relationship to the mother is different kind of relationship compared to the father. The
daughter does not like it when the mother is angry or is mad the father. She picked the mother a
bunch of flowers to get the houses on the other side of the railway off the mother's mind, and when
the mother grumble about the paycheck and their financial circumstances, and daughter decides to
take action. The daughter takes action by getting a lot of bunches of flowers and sells the flowers to

Becoming a Mom Changed My Life Essay
Two of the greatest days of my life were the days my daughters were born. The first time I held the
both of them and gazed into their eyes I felt a sense of relief and hope. The feeling is a warm
tingling sensation that engulfed my entire body. The emotions that I felt are beyond what words can
explain. It's amazing to me that in the first few minutes of their lives they completely changed my
perception of the world.
Motherhood has taught me many life lessons. Before becoming a mother, I was a self centered child. I
had no motivation to succeed. All I was worried about was where the next party was. At that time I
had no want to try because I was so scared to fail. I was slowly progressing to go nowhere and do
nothing with my life....show more content...
They just want to learn about the world around them. They have inspired me to go out and try new
things. Every day they grow a little bit more independent. As they grow, I grow.
I have learned a lot about success from my daughters. For example, I watched them learn to walk.
They weeble, they wobble and fall down. But no matter how many times they fall, they get up and
try again. It has taught me that no matter what obstacles occur, if I just continue to try I can and will
succeed.
My daughters are my motivation to succeed. Each day I work very hard to provide for them.
Some days I really just want to give up. I don't want to be a student, I don't want to work. I just
want to quit. But when I think to myself how their faces light up at the sight of me, Mommy. I
realize that if I quit now I'm quitting on them. It is no longer about my wants and needs it is about
their wants and needs first.
The greatest reward of being a mother is the love I share with my children. It is like no other. It is
pure and unconditional. There is no greater feeling than when my two year old say "Mommy I
love you" or when my ten month old gives me kisses. The love we share is the greatest gift from
God that I have ever received.
In the short time that I have been a mother I have learned many things. I have realized that every
day is a learning experience. I have taken the mistakes that I have made and learned from them. My
children have pushed me to strive for

My Mother And My Childhood
To this day, I can still remember standing at the end of my driveway watching my mother arrive
home from the bus stop. This day was different; she was not coming home empty handed. In fact,
she had stopped at a yard sale on the way home and bought a prize for me, a doll named Suzy. This
memory, from the age of two, embraces the story of my mother and my entire childhood. In
Indianapolis, Indiana in September 1980, I was born to a single mother. Throughout her life, she
worked for the phone company in downtown Indianapolis. Even though she raised us through
hardships and despair, she always took the time to love my brother and me outwardly. Until
second grade, I have no recollection of my father visiting more than three occasions. At last, in
fourth grade we began to spend weekends at his house and with his family. Sadly, when I was
eleven we learned that my father had cancer. One week before Christmas, after a school music
program, I read his obituary in the paper and told my mother he had passed away. From that
moment, our family forever changed, specifically my relationship with my mother. During
childhood, I took enjoyment in reading, school, and the arts. Escaping into books and my
schoolwork would be my escape from real life. Since school was the priority in our household, there
was little time for extracurricular activities. Similarly, through my high school years, determined to
make my mother proud, I pushed myself to succeed. Above all else, college was the goal

Essay About My Mother 's Pregnancy
They talked just long enough for my father to get what we wanted out of the deal. Shortly after, she
discovered that she was pregnant with me. I think it 's so funny now because my father likes to say
"I just blew on your mom, and she got pregnant. I don 't know how that happened." During my
mother 's pregnancy, she discovered a lot of things about my father that would make the average
woman infuriated. She found out that he already had a daughter (my oldest sister, Tia) with
another woman from his hometown, Detroit, Michigan. And while he was "seeing" her (for a
better choice of words) he was also "seeing" another woman who lived in the same area of the city
that she lived. And if that wasn 't enough, she found out that woman was also pregnant by my father
with my oldest brother, Angel, who is only five months older than me. To make it even worse, she
did not obtain any of this information from my father. She learned this information on a trip to the
mall, from a mutual friend that my mother and Angel 's mother did not know they shared. My
mother was extremely heartbroken and depressed after finding out all of this. She actually believed
that her and my father had a future together; which is a joke in itself knowing my father's past.
She was in a deep depression for a long period of time. But she knew that she would have to get over
it because she was about to have a daughter. She that she would have to raise me regardless if my
father were going to be in the picture

Growing Up With a Single Mother
People all grow up in different places, around different people, under different circumstance and,
all of these cause different effects on their lives. People are who they are today because of the
experiences that they faced. Until I was a teenager, it was always just my mom and I. I never met
my "dad", not even from day one. I never was able to get to know him, or see him, but I did have a
mom. I faced the odds of becoming the stereotypical kid with a single parent that went down the
wrong path, but I never did. Life caused me to have a single mother that has made me the strong
person that I am today. Watching my mother live from pay check to pay check when I was young
was difficult. It was always hard for my mom to keep up with other parents but, she still somehow
managed to get me everything I wanted, and more. Even though I was too young to understand, I
could feel the stress, and the struggles my mom faced every day. She was only 20 years old when
I was born and, because of that she had no choice but to grow up fast. At such a young age, I saw
the effects of being a single parent, and the ways it changed my mom. She not only had to be a
young mother but, she had to find a way to replace the void of a father, or a father figure in my
life. My mom was strong, independent and courageous. Growing up watching her live her dreams
under all the circumstances she faced, made me want to strive for a better life for myself. Seeing
how hard is was to live and to have enough

My Mother Is My Mom
Growing up I've always had my mom and my grandmother taking care of me but, at times my
mom would always have to work and I hated it. My mom worked late hours or went in early in the

home with us, was it that hard for her to just stay home? My granny did her very best taking care
of us and I loved her so much for that. There was still always this though in my head everyday that i
always thought of and that was "would mommy ever take off work and spend more time with us".

No matter how hard life gets for me and how chaotic things can become there has always been one

nothing will stop her and what an impossible feat it is to change her mind on something. She is
very impatient; when she wants something done she wants it done at this very moment, no later.
She is idealistic and she enjoys the simpler things that life has to offer. She loves nature and would
love nothing more than to be living in a cabin in the mountains while listening to country music.
She does not pay much attention to news happening outside her local area and prefers to focus on
what's happening in her immediate area. From my mother I have learned how to be the person that

opportunity to. Form her I have learned compassion for those around me and for animals. Even

My Reflection On My Mother Essay
A mother is someone who can take the place of all others but no one can take the place of her.
There are many different definitions you could use to describe your mother. My mother, Pam Krull,
fits every one of those. Today I decided to pick the three that I thought was most important to me. I
admire and aspire to be like my mother because of how supportive, how selfless, and how loving
she is. My mom has gone through a lot to get where she is today. I will begin by telling you a little
bit about my mom's background. My mom grew up outside of George with her parents, Harris and
Bev Kaster, and her three siblings, Erik, Brad, and Kristy. She attended George High School
when they were still Blue Jays. My mom was involved in a lot of different activities. She was in
the play, large group and individual speech, a cheerleader, played the drums in band, was in
student council, secretary of her class, REC club, band, and jazz band. In her free time she hung
out with friends and her sister. She had a few jobs growing up also. She babysat a lot, worked at
the library, and the dentist office. My mother also helped teach bible school, catechism, and attended
youth group at Hope Reformed Church. My mother met my dad, Doug Krull when she was a junior
in high school. They dated for a while and ended getting married. They then had three beautiful
daughters, Allyssa, Megan, and Rebecca. My mom went to Northwestern College in Orange City,
Iowa, to get her education

Being a Teenage Mother Essay
It was a beautiful afternoon on the bay of Huntington Beach. Just what would be expected of any
regular day in California. The sun was shining inexplicably, as if it knew what was coming, the
sky was clear with one cloud across the horizon, the sand was boiling and I could literally feel the
bottom of my foot melting away. The air was scented with the sweetness of spring and refreshed by
gentle breezes. There are families everywhere I look, playing endlessly with their kids, throwing
beach balls around, tanning their bodies until it turns to ebony, walking their precious dogs, and
riding their bicycles until their muscles deteriorated. The beach is adult's playground.

the single most difficult thing I have ever gone through. Having my daughter at the age of

and all the situations life has brought her, Amanda still knows that all the decisions she took may

make me stronger. Without these mistakes I would have never learned, and I would have never
been mature enough to take care of my beautiful kids. So for me, I try not to regret anything that
I've done. I accept what was, cherish what is, and hope for a future that is filled with promise in the
things to come". In the background Harmony and Adam

My Most Important Mentors In My Life : My Mother
I could say I have many mentors in my life, but my most important mentor is my mom. A mentor

learning from their life experiences and wisdom. The only person who meets my idea of a
mentor is my mom. I have known her since birth and have always felt loved and cared by her. She
gives me every tool I could possibly need to succeed through primary school and onto
postsecondary schooling. She has always given me words of encouragement, been honest when I

Sunday, which is family day in our house. We went out to lunch with my brother since he was
visiting from college, and I got the opportunity to ask my mom about her views on Mitch's and
my topics. In my conversation with my mom we talked about three topics; A meaningful life,
Family, and Education. Mitch's first topic was what it means to have a meaningful life. My mom
believes that what it means to have a meaningful life, is that it should not be defined by money or
other people's opinions. But rather it should be defined by your happiness and compassion for the
things you do in your everyday life. When discussing Mitch's second topic, family, my mom

My mom think about her dad everyday and think about the positive impact he had on her. My
mom tells us stories about what he dad would do if he was still with us now. Throughout the
stories my mom has told us I know many characteristics of my grandpa. My favorite stories are
the ones that my mom likes the best, which are all of them. My mom has always told my sister
and I if we ever want to talk to our grandpa or be with him he is always there for us and here with
us even though he isn't here. She also had bears made for us so we could be with our grandpa and
act as though the bear is him. My sister and I sleep with our bears on our bed every night, this
helps us sleep and get a better night's rest. The reason the bears are so special to us is because they
are made from my grandpas robe. This is important to me, because even though my has a hard time
with the situation she still helps other people with the situation. As you can tell my mom can act as
though nothing is wrong and help other people. That's why she represents

It took me a few years to realize what an extraordinary influence my mother has been on my life.
She's the kind of person who always has time for her kids, always interested in learning something
new, would sacrifice herself for her family, and is easily the strongest woman in my eyes. Growing
up, I know I haven't been the best son in the world but if you were to ask her, she would say
otherwise. Looking back, my mom is the most positive and important influence on my life. My
mother actually is an ordinary woman but in her tiny appearance shines an extraordinary fortitude,
perseverance, an altruistic soul and is very kind hearted. The kind of mother who brought me up with
her whole kindly heart, the kind of persistent woman with...show more content...
Growing up in a poor family, my mother must work very hard to earn her living since an early age.
Due to shortage of material condition, she herself has trained an extremely strong will and ability
to sedately deal with each difficulty and stand up to move on from her failures. I vividly
remember the calamity poured down on my family when my mother' business went bankrupt. We
had to sell our house and leave for another town to begin from "zero". This critical time made
every member in my family really upset. But it was my mother, the persistent and brave women,
strongly stood up and started over again after this great adversity. Each of her failures, her grief,
and the way she overcame difficulties to move on has made an indelible impression in my mind,
leaving me with precious lessons about the values of strong wills and indefatigable endeavors to
firmly confront with setbacks and bravely conquer them. There was time when I felt that there
was no more hope in life, that I felt very weary and was about to give up everything. After the
constant moving from one place to another and my grades slipping down the drain I was unable to
deal with any small problems and felt embarrassed to meet my relatives and friends. However, that
was also the time that I acquired from my mother how to learn from her mistakes and developed my
own set of tools to take more lessons from them to realize the proper meanings of determination.

My Mother In My Life
My mother is a very complicated woman. I believe the best way to describe her would be, "the
road to hell is paved with good intentions." I know, weird way to start off my literary story, right?
As much as I do not like my mother, I love her, and respect her. While I am being honest, I owe my
work ethic and a vast majority of my success to her, as much as I hate to admit it. The way she
lived her life, most college graduates and the societal hoity toity types would raise their noses to.
However, you can't deny her dedication to her children and their education, she is the start of my
literacy journey. My mother wasn't always...how do it put this? Let's go with questionable, and she
was stable and the picture–perfect mother when she was married to my father. My mother and
father thought it would be beneficial for her to stay at home with my twin brother and I. Flash
cards were always there, before Kindergarten my mom made sure my twin and I could count to
100, we knew our ABC's, we could write our names, our parents' names, knew our address and
phone number. Every Thursday we went to the public library for story time and to pick out our
books for the week. Before nap and before bed we would read one of Miguel's books and one of
mine, some of the books we read so much that my brother and I memorized the stories. We would
even pretend to read those favorite stories. As the years went on and we went to school my mother
was super involved. She had all our grades emailed to her,

Personal Essay : Losing My Mother
Losing My Mother I can still remember vividly the day my mother passed away. My mother
passed away at a critical point in my life when I was seventeen years old from a short term illness.
She was sick for a week and I remember thinking this could be serious, however, my mother
declined to go to the hospital because of the distance and financial hardship. I had loss my father
when I was three years old, so my mother was a single mother. I have step sisters and brother, but
I was not particularly close to them. Losing my mother was a defining moment in my life for it
changed my life irrevocably. I was devastated, but I had to become strong, proactive and it spurred
me to choose a new career path. Losing my mother was very traumatising. She was the only
parent I knew since the age of three and the one person I knew I could depend on one hundred
percent. I was in school when one of my cousin came to inform me that I was to return home
immediately. In my gut I knew something serious must have happened to my mother. I do not
remember how I got home. When I saw several people crying at my home and nobody was really
make eye contact with me, I just started to cry too and that is when someone told me how sorry
they were for my loss. I was in shock for more than three days. I did not sleep nor eat and I did not
shade single tears after the initial outburst. Basically I just wanted to crawl in a corner and never
wake up from the nightmare. However, I had to become an adult and I

Becoming a Teenage Mother Essay
Shyla Henry September 11, 2012 Becoming a Teenage Mother I never thought having
unprotected sex would lead to a teen pregnancy. However, I was wrong. Being young, immature,
and thinking I was invincible led me to becoming a teenage mother. The disbelief came first,
followed quickly by panic, before the realization and acceptance arrived. I had sex and I had to be
mature and deal with the consequences and grow up faster than most teenagers. The days of my
carefree teen life are now behind me as I tend to my eight month old son's every need. At first,
finding out I was pregnant was a devastating shock to not only myself but everyone around me. I
was only eighteen and was a senior in high school. I had such high expectations for myself....show

I woke my boyfriend up and called my mother and we rushed to the hospital. I was nervous and
excited at the same time. After eight hours of labor, the baby wasn't cooperating at all. I wouldn't
dilate past eight and I already had three epidurals. I was in so much pain. After being in labor for
twenty three hours, the doctors said it was time for a cesarean. I was so scared. All of a sudden, I
heard my son screaming. My heart melted and I couldn't keep the tears from coming. That was
the best moment of my life. Justin and I named our son, Bentley Michael McCartney. He weighed
eight pounds and thirteen ounces and he was twenty one inches tall. He was beautiful and
healthy. Seeing my son made me realize that I was now an adult and I would be the best mother I
possibly could be. Becoming a teenage mother is more difficult then most teenagers realize. I go
to college, work, clean and cook, and take care of my family. I love Bentley with all of my heart
and wouldn't trade him for anything. However, if I waited to have Bentley, I would be done with
college and not have to worry or struggle. I encourage young teenage girls to use protection and
wait to have children. Life with a child is very hard. However, I wouldn't have my life any other

Mother. The definition of mother is to bring up a child with care and affection. Mother. My
definition of mother is a touch different. When someone mentions "mother" or "mom" to me I
think of hollering, screaming and cruel. I used to think the world of my mom but I few years ago
I changed my mind. When I was only three years old my parents got a divorce and separated. My
mom didn't want to see us until a few months after the divorce. She moved to an one bedroom
studio apartment in downtown Des Moines and she couldn't take care of my brother and I,
therefore we went and lived with my dad. We were not supposed to go and stay with my mom

My Mother Essay
What can one say about their mother? One may talk about her positive and negative characteristics.
There are so many great traits I love and admire about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair
to write about just one. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits,
which my mother possesses.
Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I
financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself. My mom gave her all, by that I
mean, she worked two jobs to make sure her children ate properly and that they had the essential
amenities to grow happily and successfully. Another way she supported us was with love and care.

She would encourage me by simply saying, "Complaining is a useless way to solve problems, but
becoming active on the issue is a great way to conquer it. My mother My mother has always had
strong faith and views in her religion. When I was younger, every day and night, she would bring
prayer time to me and my brother's attention. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the
seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time
was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it.
One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us
with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle.
My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's
rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although my mother's intentions were good,
occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family, came
to my mother in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the
agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly installments. My mom never did see
the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give,
whether is it a donation, or volunteering your time in your community. My

My Mother, My Friend
My Mother, My Friend It is not easy, moving back home with your parents as an adult. Especially
when you are the parent of grown children yourself. Due to circumstances beyond my control, that
is what I had to do. Although I had been out of my parents home for over thirty years and had
been married (and divorced) moving back home kind of felt like I had never left. I believe that is
because my parents were treating me as though I was the unruly teenager I once was. That and the
fact I was in MY bedroom. I choose to do my relationship analysis paper on my relationship with my
mother Juanita. My mom has Alzheimer's, and communication can be frustrating at times. The three
communication concepts I will focus on are, 1. Becoming a better listener, 2, Expressing myself
to her in a way she can better understand and 3. Paying better attention to her nonverbal cues. I
love my mother dearly, and want to be able to communicate with her the best we can. My mother
is one of the most important people in my life. In fact, she is probably THE most important
person in my life. She is beautiful, she is kind, she is thoughtful and she is honest. She is a good
wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There is not a mean bone in her body. I have
worked for the last fifteen years doing in Home Health Care for Alzheimer's patients and their
families, so when my mom got diagnosed I was devastated. I was devastated because I know how

Being a Single Mom Essay
One thing in my life that I had to dive into doing was being a single parent. I no longer had just
myself to worry about and to take care of; I was going to have another person to be responsible for. I
had a mixture of feelings when I found out I was pregnant. I did not know if his dad was going to be
around or not to help me. I was worried, nervous, scared and excited all at the same time.
I was not working at the time, so I had very little money and his father only paid child support
when he decided to, or when the courts forced him to pay. It is a very scary feeling to be on your own

After what seemed like an eternity they finally came, we hopped into the ambulance and sped off
to the ER. They stripped him down to nothing but his diaper and helped cool him off with a wet
washcloth until we arrived at the hospital. After waiting for what seemed like forever, the doctor
came to check him and diagnosed that the reason he had this seizure was because in just a short
time he went from being a normal kid to having a such a high temperature that his body reacted in
quite a frightening and scary way. They gave him a shot of Motrin and we waited until his fever
started to come down.
There have been other times that have been challenging in being a single parent, but we have gotten
through them with the help of friends and family. As he got older he was diagnosed as having
Asperger's Syndrome, a form of Autism, which is a developmental disorder that affects a child's
ability to socialize and communicate effectively with others. He struggles in school with his
homework and relating to other people.
With this disorder he gets stressed out very easily. When he is feeling overwhelmed he tends to
shut down or give up. He was given an IEP, anIndividualized Education Program, which helps kids
reach educational goals easier than they otherwise would. It gives him leeway when it comes to
certain things like homework and tests. They limit the amount homework he has

Essay About A Mother

  • 1. Being A Mother : My Life Of My Mother My mother is the most diligent worker I know and I highly respect her for that. My mom, sister, and I moved across the globe to find better opportunities for jobs and Education. She worked two jobs as a single mother, and was still able to take care of and support my sister and me in anything we aspired to do. Being a mother itself is difficult enough because it is an everyday job with no brakes or vacation. She is the person who inspires me and the person who motivates me to do my best at everything I do. To her, my sister and I's happiness was worth more to her than her own and for that I truly believe she is the best person in the world. Even when things get hard for her, she does not take time out for herself. During the death of my grandfather, she had no time to grieve over him because she told us that she has work to keep my sister and I fed and happy. That was when I realized that if she is going through all the gruelling effort just to keep me and my sister happy, then my goal in life would just to give back to her by making her proud of me. With her as my motivation I joined things that would make her proud. Freshmen year, I auditioned for the high school traveling band, which was a truly challenging band to get into. I was one of only six freshmen to get in. Joining that band allowed me to experience my first time traveling with the school across the country to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, one of the most prestigious halls to perform in the world. • 2. My Mother And Mother My mother was my primary caregiver throughout all of my childhood. While my father was in the picture for a majority of my childhood, he was also a severe alcoholic which greatly impacted my upbringing. My rules, obligations, and expectations were not always set in stone and did often depend on the time, situation, and/or mood of my parents. I think it is normal for parents to differ slightly in their parenting styles occasionally. As a young kid I remember my sister and I being very aware that the mood my mother was in greatly contributed to the outcome of a question or event. I think most, if not all of us can relate to this. Overall however, I would say that my mother had an authoritative parenting style. My mother made is very clear that she was the parent and in charge, however she was welcoming and understanding enough that I felt comfortable coming to her with questions or problems. My mom was also very encouraging and supportive. She always pushed me to do my best but never made me feel bad if I did not reach my goals. I was lucky to have such a great relationship with my mom, not everyone does. As a young teenager I had many friends who would come to me with questions and concerns because they knew my mom was so open–minded and understanding. My mom was always my parent first and my friend second. I knew what was expected of me and I was disciplined for bad behavior, however I always knew I could go to her with anything I needed. My father, like many addicts was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Profile of My Mother Getting to know my Mom It took me eighteen years to spend some quality time with my mother and discover what an incredible journey she has had with my brothers and me. She is the kind of person who has always been very involved with all parts of our daily lives. In fact, she was the kind of mother who always had time for her three sons, worked full–time and had time to devote to community projects too. Her energy and enthusiasm for all of these things seemed endless and she always tried to teach the three of us to see the value in the idea of giving back to the community. I was always glad that she was present at my games and supported me through school, but it took me over a decade to learn what motivated her to be so...show more content... My mother also says, "...I am pretty sure God intended for me to have sons. I am more of a tomboy than I am barbie doll. I am sure I would not have done well teaching a daughter how to do all the girlie things. Not to mention, when my nieces were little, I noticed the drama began very early on and they talked incessantly." Of course she winks and grins with these remarks. She was like a second mother to my cousins and loves them dearly. As much as she is quick to point out the reasons she loved having sons and why they are so easy to raise, there is more to this story. I can 't count the times she has asked all of us why we need to scratch ourselves all of the time. This is not something females understand. It is not something males really want or feel they need to explain because it is just what we do. She can laugh about it and enjoyed imitating us and asking if we would like to see her walking around the house in her underwear scratching or fondling her parts. My mother was less tolerant of another brotherly trait – squabbling. That was another part of our dynamic which just seemed normal to my brothers and me. We just liked to agitate each other. To my mother this was upsetting because she didn 't want anyone hurt and she wanted to make sure we had good relationships in the future. It was not easy for her to get us to engage in conversations about feelings and relationships. Try as she might, we were most often not did not feel her same Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Descriptive Essay About My Mom In my 16 years of life thus far, few people have influenced me more than my mother. She is the reason I have a life, after all, and I am extremely thankful for her and everything she does for me. Mothers tend to be great listeners and advice–givers for their children. I am fortunate enough to have my mother be a professional counselor, making her exceptional at both qualities. A couple of years ago, she earned a master's degree, became both a school counselor and a clinical counselor, and specialized in helping young people. To satisfy my problems, I came to the incorrect assumption that nothing I did mattered in the long run. I drifted through the days, attempting to forget about my ridiculous idea, but for some reason my birthday triggered the insecurity inside. I tried to hide my pain, so no one would not worry about me. After a small party with my family, during which I faked smiles and pretended to be happy, my mother approached me in the kitchen of our house. Family tends to stay late at parties, so by the time everyone was gone my father and siblings were already asleep, and my mother and I were basically alone. "What's the matter?" she said, affectionately. She explained that throughout the day she noticed my sulking around the house, but did not want to confront me in front of our family. "Nothing," I replied, "I'm fine." Most people would not like to delve any further than that; moody kids are usually not the best conversationalists. • 6. Essay A Gift for My Mother The story "A Gift for My Mother" is a short story written by Viv McDade which deals with a family of three; a set of parents and their daughter. The mother envies the beautiful houses with hallways and moulded skirting boards on the other side of the railway, and she usually gets angry about the differences between her own family and their property compared to the house on other side of the railway. The mother is a housewife, and the narrator lets the reader get to know this on page 8, where the father comes home with his paycheck and the mother responds "What you've earned isn't enough for us to live on" (pg. 8). – Clearly the father's paycheck is what pays for the family. The first time I held the both of them and gazed into their eyes I felt a sense of relief and hope. The feeling is a warm tingling sensation that engulfed my entire body. The emotions that I felt are beyond what words can explain. It's amazing to me that in the first few minutes of their lives they completely changed my perception of the world. Motherhood has taught me many life lessons. Before becoming a mother, I was a self centered child. I had no motivation to succeed. All I was worried about was where the next party was. But no matter how many times they fall, they get up and try again. It has taught me that no matter what obstacles occur, if I just continue to try I can and will succeed. My daughters are my motivation to succeed. Each day I work very hard to provide for them. Some days I really just want to give up. I don't want to be a student, I don't want to work. • 8. My Mother And My Childhood To this day, I can still remember standing at the end of my driveway watching my mother arrive home from the bus stop. This day was different; she was not coming home empty handed. In fact, she had stopped at a yard sale on the way home and bought a prize for me, a doll named Suzy. This memory, from the age of two, embraces the story of my mother and my entire childhood. In Indianapolis, Indiana in September 1980, I was born to a single mother. Throughout her life, she worked for the phone company in downtown Indianapolis. Even though she raised us through hardships and despair, she always took the time to love my brother and me outwardly. Until second grade, I have no recollection of my father visiting more than three occasions. At last, in fourth grade we began to spend weekends at his house and with his family. Sadly, when I was eleven we learned that my father had cancer. One week before Christmas, after a school music program, I read his obituary in the paper and told my mother he had passed away. From that moment, our family forever changed, specifically my relationship with my mother. During childhood, I took enjoyment in reading, school, and the arts. Escaping into books and my schoolwork would be my escape from real life. Since school was the priority in our household, there was little time for extracurricular activities. Similarly, through my high school years, determined to make my mother proud, I pushed myself to succeed. Above all else, college was the goal Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Essay About My Mother 's Pregnancy They talked just long enough for my father to get what we wanted out of the deal. Shortly after, she discovered that she was pregnant with me. I think it 's so funny now because my father likes to say "I just blew on your mom, and she got pregnant. I don 't know how that happened." During my mother 's pregnancy, she discovered a lot of things about my father that would make the average woman infuriated. She found out that he already had a daughter (my oldest sister, Tia) with another woman from his hometown, Detroit, Michigan. And while he was "seeing" her (for a better choice of words) he was also "seeing" another woman who lived in the same area of the city that she lived. And if that wasn 't enough, she found out that woman was also pregnant by my father with my oldest brother, Angel, who is only five months older than me. To make it even worse, she did not obtain any of this information from my father. She learned this information on a trip to the mall, from a mutual friend that my mother and Angel 's mother did not know they shared. My mother was extremely heartbroken and depressed after finding out all of this. She actually believed that her and my father had a future together; which is a joke in itself knowing my father's past. She was in a deep depression for a long period of time. But she knew that she would have to get over it because she was about to have a daughter. People are who they are today because of the experiences that they faced. Until I was a teenager, it was always just my mom and I. I never met my "dad", not even from day one. I never was able to get to know him, or see him, but I did have a mom. I faced the odds of becoming the stereotypical kid with a single parent that went down the wrong path, but I never did. Life caused me to have a single mother that has made me the strong person that I am today. Watching my mother live from pay check to pay check when I was young was difficult. It was always hard for my mom to keep up with other parents but, she still somehow managed to get me everything I wanted, and more. Even though I was too young to understand, I could feel the stress, and the struggles my mom faced every day. She was only 20 years old when I was born and, because of that she had no choice but to grow up fast. At such a young age, I saw the effects of being a single parent, and the ways it changed my mom. She not only had to be a young mother but, she had to find a way to replace the void of a father, or a father figure in my life. My mom was strong, independent and courageous. Growing up watching her live her dreams under all the circumstances she faced, made me want to strive for a better life for myself. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits, which my mother possesses. Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually by herself.
