Samenwerken en verantwoordelijkheid nemen om voedselderving in keten terug te brengen Eric Prieur komt special voor het congres uit Frankrijk naar Nederland om een lezing te houden over voedselderving. Volgens hem is het belangrijk dat de hele vers sector, inclusief installateurs en fabrikanten van apparatuur, zich bewust zijn van de voedselderving die in de keten plaatsvindt. Onderzoek maakt duidelijk dat 40 procent van vers voedsel verloren gaat. En dat terwijl er meer dan 800 miljoen mensen wereldwijd ondervoed zijn. De gigantische hoeveelheid voedsel die verloren gaat betekent tevens dat massa’s CO2 voor niets in de atmosfeer komen en dat jaarlijks een bedrag van die keer het Nederlandse nationaal product voor niets wordt uitgegeven. Het grootste deel van de voedselderving vindt plaats in de distributieketen. Om dat terug te brengen vindt Prieur het tijd dat de partijen in de keten meer hun verantwoordelijkheid nemen en gaan samenwerken.
