(independent of the operating system)1, removal of treads and copying data;
● ArcaVir RescueDrive use as a media/carrier of data.
2. Features
Arcavir RescueDrive is divided in two partitions:
● Read-only (about 300MB)
You can find there programs, installers, ArcaNix system etc. It is not possible to remove
information from this partition;
● To read and write on (its capacity depends on USB memory’s capacity)
Unlimited space available to the user, for use as a portable USM memory stick.

If disk partitions are encrypted, to check them after starting your computer with/from Arcavir
RescueDrive, first you must decrypt them using the encryption system (usually installed applications
installed on Windows). Without implementation of the decryption is not possible to verify them at the
ArcaNix system level run with Arcavir RescueDrive.

9. III. Emergency computer startup by using ArcaVir RescueDrive
device.
1. Computer startup with flash memory
You have already ArcaVir RescueDrive device, with which you can start/launch the
computer. Time to customize your computer to be able to run with this tool. Typically, the
BIOS configuration is necessary as ArcaVir RescueDrive is treated as a hard disk, but with
the lower priority than your computer’s hard drive. Therefore, the default configuration of
BIOS does not even try to boot from it.
It is important to connect the device to your computer before it’s switched off. Otherwise
BIOS can not detect it.
Award BIOS configuration
Some Award BIOSes distinguish USB flash memory from hard drives, using USB-HDD sign
for them. Others treat it as a regular hard drive.
● When you start the computer, press the [F2] or [DEL] key to enter the BIOS
configuration program.
● Go to the section and press [Enter].
● Go to the[Floppy]] position and press [Enter]
● On the unfolded list search USB-HDD position. If available, select it and confirm with
[Enter] key. You can skip the next steps - when you save your changes and reboot
your computer, it runs from a USB flash drive.
● If the BIOS does not give the USB-HDD option, select:
● In the Advanced BIOS Features section search function ►Hard Disk Boot Priority
and press [Enter]. A list of drives that BIOS detected will appear. At the first position
there probably will be a hard disk:
● By pressing [Page Down], move the hard drive under the USB drive. In this way USB
flash memory will become the first media, which will run the system:
● With [Esc] key exit to the main window. Then go to Save &Exit Setup option and
press [Enter].This saves the changes to the BIOS and reboots your computer – this
time with a USB drive.
9
10. Phoenix BIOS configuration
Phoenix BIOSes almost always recognize USB memory as a hard disk.
● While starting the computer press [F2] or [Del] key to enter the BIOS configuration
program.
● Go to Boot section and then ►Boot Device Priority and press [Enter]. For the 1st
Boot Device set:
● With [Esc] key exit to the main window of the Boot section, then go to the ►Hard
Disk Driver position (if the USB flash drive is not connected, this function will appear)
and press [Enter].
● Usually the first item in the list is a hard drive, the USB flash memory afterwards:
● With [Page down] key move the hard drive on the second position, to put the USB
flash drive on the first:
● With [Esc] key exit to the main window , then go to the Exit section and choose Exit &
Save changes. This saves the changes to the BIOS and reboots the computer and
the USB flash drive.
When you save your changes and restart the computer, the system will be run with from USB
memory.
Often, however, occurs that after removing and re-insert the USB flash memory, it is
recognizable by the BIOS again and hits the end of the list from which the system starts.
To restart your computer with USB flash drive, you need to perform again the steps
presented in this chapter.
Great help can be boot menu of some motherboards (it usually appears after pressing [F8]
or [F12]), that lists the available media and allows you to choose e.g.: USB flash drive
without entering BIOS.
10

RAM is defective and you should replace it for a working one.
NOTICE! The program DOES NOT REPAIR the memory, neither conceals damaged areas.
Its task is only to DETECT damage and indicate which cells are potentially defective.
