5. Quiz Structure
Competition Levels
• Qualifying Round (QR)
• All registrations are ONLINE. Students just need to form their own team of 5 (Five)
students each.
• Each team member have to sit for the Qualifying Test Online. The test consists of
50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and they are given 30 minutes to complete
the test.
• The TOP 50% of the total teams participating in the Qualifying Round (i.e. based
on the total marks of all 5 members) will qualify for the Preliminary Round.

• Preliminary Round (PR)
• A test of 50 MCQs for each team members to be completed in 30 minutes.
• The TOP 50% of the total teams participating in the Preliminary Round will proceed
to the Quarter Final.
• Quarter Finals (QF)
• A test of 50 MCQs for each team members to be completed in 30 minutes.
• The TOP 50% of the total teams participating in the Quarter Finals will proceed to
the Semi Finals.

• Semi Finals (SF)
• A test of 50 MCQs for each team members to be completed in 30 minutes.
• ONLY Top 10 teams will be selected (based on their teams total marks) to proceed to
the Finals.

• Finals (LIVE)
• The selected 10 teams will be competing for the National Champion in the Grand
Final.
• There will be two (2) categories as follows:
• Individual Category [one (1) member] – carried out in two (2) rounds
• Team Category [four (4) members] – carried out in three (3) rounds

• Finals (LIVE) – Individual Category (1 Team Member)
Round 1: MCQs
• Sit for 50 MCQs in the computer Lab and he/she has to complete it within 20 mins.
• The top five (5) individuals will proceed to Round 2
Round 2: Push Buzz Button
• Each participant will also be tested on the speed by pushing the buzz button to answer the
question. Any wrong answer, marks will be deducted and the Quiz Master will open the
question for a second attempt to the rest of the individual. Any wrong answer, marks will be
deducted as well. This will be carried out in two (2) cycles.
• The total marks in Round 2 will determine the Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up
for the Individual Category.
• Should there be a tie in points earned after Round 2 (Push Buzz Button), the Sudden Death
Round will be implemented as follows:
The participant will have to hit the buzzer after the Quiz Master read the question, and
he/she will have to provide the answer within 15 seconds. If the answer is correct, he/she
will automatically become the winner. If failed to provide an accurate answer, the Quiz
Master will open the question for a second attempt to the remaining individuals.

• Finals (LIVE) – Team Category (4 Team Members)
Round 1 - MCQs
• All team members will be sitting for 50 MCQs in the computer Lab and they have to
complete it within 20 minutes.
Round 2 - Questions Selection for Opponent Teams
• Each team is allow to select the question number for their opponent team. Any wrong
answer, marks will be deducted. This round will be carried out in two (2) cycles.
• The top five (5) teams with the highest total point in Round 1 and Round 2 will proceed to
Round 3.
Round 3 - Push Buzz Button
• Each team will also be tested on the speed by pushing the buzz button to answer the
question. Any wrong answer, marks will be deducted and the Quiz Master will open the
question for a second attempt to the rest of the team. Any wrong answer, marks will be
