• Same as plain forcep .
• Only difference is having tooth at tip of
both limbs .
• Uses – Used to hold tough structure like
fascia, skin,rectus sheath

21. Alli’s Tissue holding forceps
• Blades are straight along it’s long axis &
are separated by a space ,except at it’s
tip. Tip has sharp teeth ,which can be
interlocked
• Uses – Used to hold thin but tough
structures like skin, deep fascia etc.
• Also used to hold tissues like Fibrous
capsule of a structure of dissection

23. Plain Forcep
• It has 2 limbs.
• Outer surface of forcep is made rough by
groove & ridges which helps giving a firm
grip.
• Uses – Used for holding delicate
structures like Peritonium,vessels,bowel
wall etc.
• Used to dissect soft friable tissues.

• Light but strong .
• Blades are small & curved. It has catch
lock mechanism. Tips are sharply pointed
for better grasping .
• Uses – To fix drapes. Also can be used in
place of tongue holding forcep but it may
cause injury to tongue

27. Kocher’s Forcep
• It has tooth ,single & sharp.
• It has catch clamp .
• Uses – To hold retracting ,cut ends of
vessels in tough fibrous tissue, To hold
gauze – pellets for blunt dissection

29. Babcock’s Tissue Forcep
• Non Traumatizing type of Tissue Forcep
.Blades are curved & fenestrated.
• Uses – Used to hold soft & delicate tissues
like Fallopian tubes, ureter like tubular
structures .
• Also can be used to hold gut wall in
Colostomy or Gastrostomy
