Origiin IP Solutions LLP announces flexible options for training
on Patent Agent Examination training for the year– 2011.
Details are as follows:
Examination details
Qualifying examination for Patent Agents will be held at centres located at Kolkata, Mumbai,
Chennai and New Delhi on the following dates.
15th January, 2011
Paper-I – Patents Act and Rules, Time: 10.30 am- 1.30 pm
Paper-II- Drafting and Interpretation of the Patent Specification and other documents,
Timings: 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm
16th January, 2011
VIVA-VOCE, 10.00 am onwards which may extend to the following day/days depending on
the number of candidates.
Pattern of Questions
 Paper I will have 40 objective type questions of one mark each and descriptive type
questions of 60 marks.
 Paper II will have a set of two questions (different sets for science and engineering) on
drafting of 30 marks each consisting of:
o Drafting of specification from given claims and background.
o Drafting of claims from given specification.
 The rest will be descriptive/interpretative type questions of 40 marks.
 Viva-voce examination will be based only on domain knowledge.

2. Course Details
PAE-Distance™ (Distance Education)
This is a Distance Education Program wherein printed study material
will be mailed by courier to the candidates along with assignments.
Candidates will solve the assignments and send it back for
verification. The study material comprised of 3 modules:
Module 1: Patent Act and Rules
Module 2: PCT, License agreements, Conventions and treaties, Patent
drafting skills
Module 3: Solution of previous year question papers
Fee: 14000 INR
Participants opting for Distance Education can attend all class-room sessions with additional fee of
6000 INR.
PAE-Complete™(Classroom Training)
Classroom training program conducted by experienced Patent
Attorneys and Patent Agents.
Duration: 35 hrs
Dates: 13th, 20th, 27th November and 4th, 11th, 18th and 19th December
2010
Fee: 20,000 INR
 Limited seats [15]
 You can book your seat by paying 5000 INR advance.
 Last 2 days are based on solution of previous years question papers.
 Candidates get all printed material of PAE-Distance
The candidates may enrol separately for following:
11th December: Sessions on Patent drafting [Registration fee: 3000 INR]
18th and 19th December: Solution of previous year question papers and tips for viva
[Registration Fee: 6000 INR]. All candidates get complimentary printed copy of the PAE-
Solution.

3. PAE-Online™(Online Tutorials)
Online tutorials are offered through the Origiin web site wherein a
user can log on to the Web site and access all the study material
online. Online tutorials are divided into three parts out of which
candidates can choose any module (s) depending upon the
requirement.
 Module 1: Patent Act and Rules [Fee: 8000 INR]
 Module 2: PCT, Patent Drafting, License Agreements, Tips for
viva [Fee: 4000 INR]
 Module 3: Question bank [Fee: 4000 INR]
PAE-Solutions™
All the previous year Question Papers (Paper I and II from year 2004-
2010) will be solved and discussed in this module providing a practical
exposure to the examination pattern. Solutions will be provided in the
form of Paper Back copies to each candidate.
Fee: 3,000 INR only
Candidates opting for PAE-Solutions™ can attend last 2 days of Class-
room training on 18th and 19th December, 2010 with additional fee of 3000 INR only.

5. Working people need a structure to study for an examination. It is difficult to sit down and look at
grey print after a tiring day at work. Bindu Sharma and Anita Kalia went through the course
