does your
startup do?
Started with a joint vision to preserve values and culture through the medium of language, Raedhun is an
attempt to strengthen and propagate an otherwise oral society. We chose Gujarati because we belong to
those roots. Other regions and religions are listed in our steady pipeline.
It is a unique Integration of Technology and Culture, tailored to suit modern day consumption habits.
Raedhun enables Gujaratis and Gujarati-lovers worldwide to connect and keep in touch with their culture &
heritage—traditional and modern, celebrate its richness and freshness, everything in a spoken & audio
format.
One can listen to the classics and the legends, the masters and the mavericks, in genres as diverse as humor,
literature, drama, faith, folklore.
We began our journey on the 20th of January, 2014 and launched Raedhun on the 1st of May, Gujarat
Foundation Day.

Trained in Industrial Design, his work includes virtually every design
discipline. He consults with industries, NGOs and research groups, and
has taught in various institutes of design in India. He has been involved
in several startups, including an environmental NGO, a strategic design
consultancy and a design business incubator.

Founder of Swar Prabha & Gyan Prabha, the city’s first customized
library that managed HNIs of the Ahmedabad. He conceptualised
Raedhun from his insights into cultural production and consumption
trends.

7. How is
your startup
different
from the
other
startups?
Firstly, our prime motivation is not quick returns, but the successful strengthening and promotion of
the Gujarati Culture and other Indian languages over time. This is our sole focus and will remain
over time.
Secondly, our application is completely non-commercial. Authentic Gujarati content for free, and in
due course many more language too.
On the Supply part, we already have an accumulated data of 1500+ hours in 12 different categories.
We also have tie ups with 50+ artists, writers, poets, academicians, journalists, etc. To sum it up, we
have a huge tranche of cultural content in stock.
On the Demand side, we attracted 5000+ users since our launch and are currently in terms of tie-
ups with more than 10 organisations which include the Swaminarayan and Jain societies.
Our Editorial team filters every single file before its upload, ensuring quality and authenticity.

transforming
India?
Technology is currently the most transformative force that plays a major part in our lives. It has
more pushed people away from their roots than bring them together.
Raedhun aims to transform not just India but Indians all over the world by re-connecting them with
their mother tongue and the trove of knowledge and wisdom that our languages contain.
It will counter the incessant imitation of the western world and provide a level to our writers,
creators, artists, etc to present their works to appreciative audiences without any geographical
barriers.

your startup
transforming
India?
A response to the Prime Minister’s call to leverage the power of modern technology to massively
and substantially enhance the quality of life of the people, made when he was the Chief Minister of
India’s forefront state, Gujarat.
Based on the observation that audio and video are far more effective and engaging, not to forget,
more user-friendly, convenient and in sync with the majority of traditional culture, Raedhun was
conceived as a culture platform that makes available authentic cultural content in user-friendly
“audio bytes”.
The eye-catching UI of Raedhun is inspired by iTunes, and is driven by a passion for quality in
design as well as engineering. Various enablers have been deployed, including a unique “Mood
Navigator” feature with 135 different mood based track suggestions that lets the app choose tracks
for you. Easy Social Media connectivity. Sound compression algorithm reduces the size of the audio
file which allows easy usage with EDGE and 2G.
Raedhun is now starting the Phase II where we will upload content in Sanskrit, Bengali and Nepali
languages too. Over period in time we intent to have 27 Indian languages
on the Raedhun platform.
