- Mesmer was the first to propose the basics of hypnosis and a
consistent method. Hypnosis was used to control pain, prepare for
surgery, or calm nerves.

• Ericksonian
• NLP ( Neurolinguistic Programming)

5. Hypnosis is used for many things such as: stress
management, weight loss, quit smoking, pain
reduction, depression, mental health
6. Career in hypnosis
• To find a job as a hypnotist you have to be certified
by American Society of Clinical Hypnosis or Society
for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis.
