68. COMMON PASSWORD PITFALLS TO AVOID
Cyber criminals use sophisticated tools that can
rapidly decipher passwords.
Avoid creating passwords that use:
Dictionary words in any language.
Words spelled backwards, common misspellings, and
abbreviations.
Sequences or repeated characters. Examples:
12345678, 222222, abcdefg, or adjacent letters on
your keyboard (qwerty).
Personal information. Your name, birthday, driver's
license, passport number, or similar information.
69. CREATE A STRONG PASSWORD
The password contains characters from three of
the following four categories:
Uppercase letters (A through Z)
Lowercase letters (a through z)
Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
Non-alphanumeric characters such as: exclamation
point (!), dollar sign ($), number sign (#), or percent
(%).
Passwords can be up to 128 characters long.
You should use passwords that are as long and
complex as possible.
