2. Natalia Volgina came into athletics at
the age of eight years. In
1996, Alexander Sakov began to train
her, and soon she became a master of
sports, winning the championship of
Russia in the 5 km race. She is the
champion in the 10 km race as
well, taking the second place in the
classic marathon in Paris (2006), in
2010 she won the classical marathon in
Dusseldorf.
3. 36-year-old Natalia Volgina,
master of sports of the international
class, at the end of March at the
marathon "Two Oceans" in Cape
Town, South Africa a second time
won at the super-long distances.
First she won the marathon in
Cape Town 11 years ago. Three
more times Natalya took the second
place in the 56 km ultramarafon
distance (classic marathon distance
is 42 km) between the Indian and
the Atlantic Ocean to the Cape of
Good Hope.
4. Marathon "Two Oceans" was held in Cape Town in 44th times.
Applications for participation in the marathon were given by more than 11
thousand participants, most of whom were athletes from South Africa. In the
race there were both men and women. Distance extending between the Indian
and the Atlantic Ocean, distinguished by a complex terrain. Athletes have to
overcome a few steep climbs, which is determined by the leader of the
marathon.
5. It is the fifth Natalia
Volgina’s gold medal in
the marathon "Two
Oceans" , so this year
she entered the "Club
Blue numbers": now in
Cape Town, she will
always run with a
personal number 4496.
6. Natalia said that she received an award – the rank
of captain given for the service in the MIA
Vladimir.
