ECONOMIC NEWS
 The government has allowed certain eligible branches to issue ATM cards to
their account holders and also account statements instead of giving out
passbooks, as most private sector banks do.
 TRAI recommends base price of Rs 2,720 cr. for 2100MHz spectrum. The
regulator reiterated that spectrum in the 2100MHz band should be auctioned
along with other bands - 800, 900 and 1800MHz -- that are scheduled for
February 2015

 SEBI issues Discussion Paper on “Re-classification of Promoters as Public.”
 Circular ref CIR/ MIRSD/5/ 2014 dated December 30, 2014 issued by SEBI to
All Depositories regarding Single Registration for Depository Participants.
 SEBI issued exit order in respect of Ludhiana Stock Exchange Limited.
 Clarifications regarding Registration for the purpose of Foreign Accounts Tax
Compliance Act (FATCA) given by SEBI to All Intermediaries registered with
SEBI vide Circular reference CIR/MIRSD/6/2014 dated December 30, 2014.
 SEBI issues Concept Paper on proposed framework for issuance & listing of
debt securities by municipalities.
 Government amends Arbitration and Conciliation Act to attract maximum
foreign investment. The Ordinance has been sent to President Pranab
Mukherjee for assent, after which it will come into force.

 RBI issued Notification ref RBI/2014-15/372 DBR. AML.No.
9644/14.07.018/2014-15 dated December 30, 2014 regarding Inter-
Governmental Agreement (IGA) with United States of America (US) under
