ECONOMIC UPDATES
 A number of distributors have come under the radar of the Association of
Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) for failing to pay back „clawback
commission‟ to asset management companies (AMCs).
 The valedictory session of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2015 ended with
the chief minister announcing over 21,000 separate investment intentions
have been signed, with 1,250 partnership agreements.
SEBI/CORPORATE UPDATES
 Circular ref CIR/MRD/DP/ 1 /2015 dated January 12, 2015 issued by SEBI
to the Depositories regarding Risk Management Policy at the Depositories.
 SEBI has issued Consultative paper on managing/advising of Offshore
Pooled Assets by Local Mutual Fund Managers.
 SEBI has issued Circular ref CIR/MRD/DP/02/2015 dated January 12,
2015 to All Stock Exchanges regarding Index based market-wide circuit
breaker mechanism.
 Notification dated 09.01.2015 authorizing officers for filing complaint
under section 159 read with section 155 of the Companies Act, 2013 issued
by MCA
RBI/TAX LAW UPDATES
 Circular No. 01/15-Customs dated 12/01/2015 ref no- F. No. 450/25/2013-
Cus IV (Pt.) issued by Central Board of Excise and Customs regarding
Merging of Commercial invoice and packing list.
 Speech delivered by Shri R. Gandhi, Deputy Governor at the “Indian PSU
Banking Industry: Road Ahead” Summit organized by Bengal Chamber of
Commerce and Industry on January 10, 2015 at Kolkata.
 Dr. Raghuram Rajan, Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Dr.
Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank (ECB) today signed
a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of
central banking.
