I do not plagiarise other people’s work, I do however, periodically disrupt literary hegemonies by way of unintentional subversive alternative discourse. This is a humorous look at the new GDPR rules which come into force on 25 May 2018. As part of the 2018 Leeds Digital Festival, this was presented as a video (you can find it on my YouTube channel) to the delegates of #LeedsHack. The video was speeded up to meet the judging criteria at #LeedsHack so it's easier to work thorugh this SlideShare.

For emails . . . or spam . . . or whatever

6. When I think of the nightmare that we

To withstand serious vetting
We should do our mar-ketting
By using that mail chimpanzee

8. G D P R - I’ve read what they’ve written
It’s a great monster, with an ugly big zit on
It’s just the same as before
But double the chore
An’ all that’s missing, is a pic, of a kitten

10. We need help with our data precision
So YOU have to make a decision
Please tell us what’s better
email, phone call or letter
Smoke signal or carrier pigeon

12. We’ve got flags, we can do semaphore
But Morse Code is a tedious bore
The law is a tyrant
We WILL be compliant
We justWon’tBe user friendly any more

14. There’s a new database field to populate
Cos we delete things which are out of date
So all the stuff gets a label
If they’re old, then we’re able
To work out which customers to exterminate
