Sign and Display Boards get the Message out to a Visual Generation



A well researched observation is that young consumers who have been constantly
exposed to visual media throughout their formative years, no longer respond to large
blocks of text, either in printed material, or advertising media such as brochures, flyers,
and even web pages. However, they will take notice of anything visual which is no
surprise given their early environment. It is one of the changes moving through society
as a result of new technology, and needs to be understood by advertising and marketing
people as they struggle to find the most effective means of spreading their message.
Anything pictorial like sign and display boards, has much more impact on this
demographic than an older one.

Knowing that, marketing and advertising people are refining the way in which they
communicate their message if they are particularly targeting Gen Y. Of course, this
strategy can also be effective on other age groups, especially if it’s catchy and
interesting, and one particular method of getting the message across is the use of sign
boards Brisbane. These boards are suitable for both indoors and outdoors, depending
on the materials used, and can incorporate both picture and text for maximum impact.

Sign and display boards can also be portable when made from Foamcore, a light board
available in both white and black. Foamcore is inexpensive and available in a number of
sizes, making it an excellent choice for presentations and trade displays. The A4 size can
be slipped into a briefcase, and the larger A3 simply tucked under the arm, ready to be
slipped out on the board room table to dazzle a client with visual information. They also
stick easily to a wall with Velcro or hangers.

Modern technology has saved many a disorganised salesperson, since these days, only
short lead times are required to have sign and display boards made and ready to use.
Often it is less than a twenty four hour turnaround to have a board printed and some
jobs can be done in a few hours. Dye based inks are used for indoor signs, but for an
outdoor sign that must withstand the elements, UV dyes are used to keep the colours
and outlines sharp and clear.

Foamcore is just one of a range of materials used in sign and display boards, depending
on their purpose. For a more elegant look, Blockmount MDF with routed coloured edges
looks great for a foyer or reception area, and more well known types such as Kraftboard,
Colorbond, Perspex, Acrylic and Expanded PVC also perform well in a range of
conditions, and are excellent choices for display boards Brisbane.

Whatever the final choice for a visual display, anyone hoping to capture the attention of
the younger generation must put effort into understanding how they take in information.
If they can make it dazzling at the same time, they are on a winner.
