Persuasive Essay On Pollution
Your day has been great so far. You went on vacation, you found a dollar bill on the floor, you ate
your favorite dish, nothing can be better than this. As soon as you walk on the boardwalk you are
hoping to see big waves and fish in the sea, instead, you see dead fish and some animals floating in
the water next to old car tires, trash, and fertilizer. Now you feel terrible and want to go home.
Pollution is devastating. The reason why I researched this topic is that I do not want my family
nor my planet to get sick. Pollution can be stopped very easily, it's just that people "don't know"
how to stop or they just don't care, which is a serious problem. I want people to see that pollution
is mainly caused by humans, and also for them to see that it is a horrible thing that is happening.
Some kids litter because they see their parents and their whole family doing it. When I was
researching this topic, I noticed that I needed to find out more information, so I asked questions
to myself. When did pollution get so bad? How many animals have gone extinct because of
pollution? How many people die each year because of pollution? How much does everyone on
the planet pollute each year? What is the best way to stop pollution? Can just one person make a
difference? After a lot of research, I found out lots of ways that we can stop pollution, so it is
possible to end it. Or at least improve the air. Pollution is caused by people littering, throwing their
trash everywhere, wasting energy, and burning fuel from vehicles. Pollution effects all animals and
plants from around the world. It can harm them and kill them. Some animals have gone extinct
because of pollution, thanks to humans. To be exact, over 11 species of animals have gone extinct
because of pollution, Not to mention people have died too! How much? Well, about 6.5 million
people have mainly because of respiratory problems (lung cancer caused by air pollution) . Yea, its
really bad. Pollution has been around for a long time in the U.S since the mid–19 centuries. It got
worse because of the industrial revolution. This caused the air and water to become polluted because
of all of the manufacturing factories, which uses coal for their factories and threw their waste

Essay about Pollution
Pollution has become a major issue over the years because it contaminates the Earth's environment
and affects human health. While some environmental pollution is a result of natural causes such as
volcanic eruptions, most is caused by human activities. The increase of various types of pollution has
made cancer pollutant more prevalent among the people, raising the risk of getting cancer. After
being exposed to theses pollutants, the effects may be immediate or delayed. Some of the delayed
effects, due to the exposure, can go unnoticed for many years. Another major issue thatpollution
creates is the tremendous cost for preventing and cleaning it up. However, we can not regulate the
pollutants to the extent where there are no more possible...show more content...
One possible way to control the carcinogenic pollutant is to get a bill passed by Congress, which
makes it mandatory for industrial places to reduce the amount of pollution they create. By reducing
the amount of pollution production, the exposure level of the carcinogenic pollutant will decrease.
This law enforces the industrial companies to establish new methods and strategies to create their
products with less pollution distribution in the end. As another preventive measure, there are
products available to the population that contains carcinogenic elements that can be taken off the
market until they are redesigned and approved by the government. One last effort to regulate the
cancer pollutant is to increase the funds for research so that we can have a better understanding of
cancer and how to cure it. Consequently, we can create better drugs available to the population,
which can decrease the chances of people, with cancer, from dying.
Now that we have the regulations into effect, the next thing to do is determine appropriate levels of
exposure and the risk level. However, this raises the question of how do determine what a human life
is worth. There is no conclusive answer to this question, so we have to take risks. If we take the
total number of deaths that occur every year in the world or a particular country and divide that by
the number deaths

Abstract On Environmental Pollution
Abstract
Environmental pollution is anything that can cause harm to the environment. Pollution is any
undesired alteration of the environment and is often caused by human activities (Mader, 2016, pg.
552). Types of human pollution would be air, water, soil, radioactive, thermal, noise, and light. Each
of these forms of pollution has been known to cause the enormous amount of concern for the
environment. There are laws in place now that are limiting pollution and to help control the issue.
Environmental pollution is a serious problem we are facing globally. It is the debate concerning
pollution, which we have been pondering for the past century. Prior to the industrial revolution,
scientists thought that the atmosphere was untouched by man–made pollutants until they found air
bubbles hidden in the core of Greenland's ice shelf (Stromberg). After finding this essential
development, scientist began to reconsider the initial cause of pollution and how to decrease the
lasting effects of it. With this discovery, pollution was traced back to Ancient Rome and it was
decided that globally we needed a new approach for dealing with this problem. There are numerous
types of pollution and they each have a devastating effect on the global climate. A scientist has been
working on ways to re–direct the negative effects of pollution and at the same time encourage
people to try to find ways to do that part to help with this effort. We all can find some way to
improve the world and decrease pollution.
The problems with air pollution seem to be one of the largest most discussed situations. The Natural
Resource Defense Council (NRDC) air pollution is the release of pollutants into the air that is
damaging human health and world. There are many forms of air pollution and smog and soot are
two of them. These two are discussed more when dissecting this problem due to them being the
most common forms of air position, which are also the most detrimental of them all. When the
sunlight and emissions from fossil fuels interact that is how smog is created. The creation of soot
formed from smoke, dust, allergens and other particles are spread throughout the air in gas or solid
form. Methane is also a huge component of the

Ocean Pollution Essay
Everything in this world we use comes from the ocean in some way. The air we breathe, the water
we drink, even the products we use day to day, would not be possible without the ocean. That's
why the issue of ocean pollution is so important and needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
We depend on the ocean for so much in our life, without it we would surely become extinct.
People seem to think that since the ocean is so large and vast, we can dump as much waste as
we'd like into it and it will never have an effect on us. However, since we've been polluting the ocean
as far back as Roman times, the evidence of ocean pollution becoming a major problem is all too
clear.
There are many different ways the ocean can become polluted....show more content...
Fishnets improperly discarded into the ocean can also cause major issues, tangling into unsuspecting
mammals and fish. According to the Marin Academy's Oceanography website, there are over
46,000 pieces of plastic floating in each square mile of ocean off the Northeast coast of the United
States, which contributes to the death of 100,000 marine mammals and two millions sea birds yearly.
A way you wouldn't expect pollution to be caused is by noise. The pressure from the sounds omitted
by ships, sonar devices, oil rigs, and earthquakes can disrupt communication, hunting, migration, and
reproduction patterns from many marine animals like whales and dolphins. This can throw the
whole system off balance. Air pollution can also cause ocean pollution by being absorbed into the
water and contaminating it, and vice versa. Ocean pollution can eventually cause air pollution. Dirt
can also spill into waterways from top soil or silt from fields or construction sites, causing
endangerment to fish and wildlife habitats.
Out of all of these ways, oil spills can cause a noticeably excessive amount of damage to the ocean.
Although only 12% of the oil entering the sea is caused by spills, they can deteriorate ocean life and
environment more than any other pollution. One gallon of used oil spilled into the ocean, which
contains toxic chemicals and heavy metals severely dangerous to the micro–organism at the base of
the food chain, can cause an eight–acre layer

Air And Water Pollution Essay
Air and water pollution is one of the biggest problems the environment faces today. It is one of the
highest leading cause of death. Air and water pollution has been affecting the environment for
many years causing many diseases among people especially children. I will study and examine the
early childhood growth between two countries which are Australia and Tanzania. I will discuss how
clean and polluted their air and water is for each country. Their access to clean water. I will also
explain the effects that can occur when water is contaminated. How children are affected when they
don 't have access to primary essentials and how each country and their environment and living
condition might threatened a child 's life.

But in recent studies it has shown that in some communities in Australia struggle to meet water
standards. (Schwarzenbach et al., 2010) has recently shown that drinking water in some parts of
Australia has shown to be contaminated with uranium, faecal bacteria and nitrates.
(Schwarzenbach, R., Egli, T., Hofstetter, T., Von Gunten, U., & Wehrli, B. (2010).Meaning those
who don 't have access to clean water in Australia will likely become sick or catch a disease
affecting not only their growth but a child growth as well. Water is important to the human body.
As we not only depend on it to live it helps our cells to function properly. Not having clean water
can hinder our development but can affect our organs as well.As that being said low income
communities in Australia will most likely have less access to clean water as opposed to those who
are of high income. (Health, J., & Kim. (2004) found that air pollution can cause chronic effects on
the development of a child that can lead to many illnesses like asthma and bronchitis as a result of
living in high–ozone country meaning high pollutant than those who live in a low–ozone
country.Committee on Environmental Health, J., & Kim. (2004). In Australia, food security is
considered to be an important social determinant of health and a significant public health issue at
national and state levels. Food insecurity is, however, especially important to child and family

Global Pollution Essay
Pollution is a growing issue in the world and is the major cause that contributes to many
environmental problems. What is usually classified as pollution, what kind of pollution is present
in the world, and what the people are doing to deal with this pollution issue in the world. There are
several problems with world pollution that are associated with global warming and include waste
disposal, water pollution, and air pollution. These things are usually caused by people on the planet
who produce waste. This has been a growing complication and is (omit) now been taken as a serious
issue. Solutions to these situations have been considered to keep the Earth and all the things in it.
One of the situations that are involved with world...show more content...
"The problem of exposure to hazardous materials remains, except that it is spread over a wider area"
(Newton).
Illegal waste disposal is also another reason that contributes to world pollution.
It may be defined as the improper disposal of waste at any site other than a regularly licensed
landfill or other facility. Usually this kind of disposal is done because people are unaware of the
law and are unwilling to take the time or refuse to pay the costs for properly disposing materials,
or are in possession of toxic materials that may cause legal problems. (Watts) "Illegal waste
dumping ranges from being a simple nuisance to a serious health hazard and often occur in isolated
or desolate places. In the United States, illegal waste dumping is often thought of as a local
problem; however, the motives and types of people who engage in it–including multinational
corporations, criminal syndicates, and individuals–persist throughout the world" (Watts).
The dangers of disposing of waste illegally are often unknown by some corporations or even
ignored. By not getting rid of waste properly it encourages more dumping, so a small problem may
rapidly become a major hazard. Another danger is the health risks posed by the type of material
being discarded. Dangerous materials commonly dumped illegally include such medical wastes as
used syringes

Essay On Air Pollution
Introduction:
Pollution is when a harmful or poisonous gas is emitted in the presence of air that can be very
harmful to the environment even for humans, especially when we don't do anything . We might
think that pollution is not really a problem in the world but it is one major problem and some
countries are suffering from it now. There are many ways that we can stop pollution about but we
just don't really take matter of it, if people will just observe how pollution is affecting the
environment they might do something about it. There are many types of Pollutions there are, Water,
Land, Air , etc but Air pollution is the main topic in this paper. These days, there are many countries

(A Review of Air Pollution Control in Beijing: 1998–2013.) The air pollution in Beijing causes their
neighboring countries experience smog covering some part of their country. Also there is a new
problem of their pollution problem which is the urbanization which people demands different new
manufacture to be develop. Lots of different cars are being developed that are now record for 17
millions new cars on the road in the year of 2014. The rapid urbanization growth increases lot of
demands and new industries.
Chemical Reaction: The main causes to build pollution are Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Dioxide,
Sulfur Dioxide, Particulates and Ammonia. In Beijing the chemical reaction they have is Sulfur
Dioxide, Ozone, and Carbon Monoxide. One of the chemical reaction of the air pollution in
Beijing, is Sulfur Dioxide and this is one the reason because of their coal industry. Sulfur dioxide
can cause people to have a hard time breathing if you inhaled too much. Second one is Ozone is a
colourless gas that creates smog, this chemical can make experience some respiratory problem.
The other one is Carbon Monoxide and this one is caused by vehicles. It is also an odorless and
colorless gas but this gas is very dangerous for human. It can cause your nervous system and heart

Pollution refers to impurity into the environment of particles which has harmful effect on health.
There are many forms of pollution, like air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution which impact
health and environment. High air pollution level is responsible for health issues in Delhi. Over the
last few years, the level of pollution has changed significantly in India and specifically in
Delhi.Due to increased traffic on roads, traffic movement is slow which forces vehicles to move in
lower speed which reduces efficiency and emission level increases. Another cause of vehicular
pollution is increase in number of diesel vehicles, which is also a major contributor to air pollution.
According to Department of Transport of Delhi, there are more than 7.6 million vehicles on
National Capital region and which grows at a target rate of 14% per annum. Due to air pollution
people are suffering from Lung and heart disease. In addition to 7.6 million registered vehicles of
Delhi and equal number of vehicles enter Delhi everyday which add to air pollution. In order to
control Vehicular pollution, we have to adopt and implement stringent steps to reduce the vehicular
pollution. The feasible solutions to control pollution is to reduce the number of vehicles on roads
by introducing concept of odd/even rule for playing the vehicles, ban on registration of diesel cars
which is major source of vehicular pollution, introduction of CNG (Combined National GAS) for
taxis coming in delhi these steps will reduce vehicular pollution and help people to breath clean air.
In order to reduce the congestion of road, the proposal is to apply odd/even rule for playing the
vehicles wherein vehicles with odd number registration plates will run on odd dates and vehicles
with even number registration plates will run on Even dates. This will be applicable between 8
AM to 8 PM and will result into challan but no compounding of Vehicles. This rule will be
applicable to all the government Vehicles and vehicles coming out of Delhi. There will be
exemption for CNG Cars, cars driven by women with kids, President of India Vehicles, Prime
minister and

Persuasive Essay On Water Pollution
The one thing humans need on this planet to survive is water. If we need water to survive, then why
are polluting it? Most of our nation's waterways are in terrible condition because of the pollution in
the water. Water pollution not only can cause illnesses, but also deaths for humans. Humans aren't
the only thing that water pollution causes harm to. It is also hurting our ecosystem. Humans are the
leading cause of most water pollution. We keep throwing wastes into the water making the water
unsafe for humans to drink. Scientists are coming up with ways for humans to decrease the amount
of wastes they are putting in the water. We need to stop polluting the one thing that keeps us alive.
Water pollution is a change or decrease in water...show more content...
There is a new chemical that "decreases male fertility, hormones, and testosterone" ("Declining Male
Fertility"). The chemicals are in the shape or form of medicine and pesticides and can affect fish and
other species in the water. Some research has shown that these "chemicals make male fish believe
they are turning into females which is declining the male fertility in the water. These chemicals are
getting in the water through the sewage pipes leading into the water. This not only harms the water,
but also the organisms inside the water. Water pollution isn't just hurting the environment, but also
costing Americans money. Instead of drinking water from the faucets, people are buying more
expensive types of bottled water. Since most people are buying expensive bottles of water, this is
going to cost them more money. "Water pollution is costing the government, facilities, and
Americans nearly $4.3 billion" ("Freshwater Pollution Cost $4.3 Billion"). These pollutants can
cause harmful effects on us humans. Water pollution impacts how humans and other living
organisms live their life. Most common way humans are effected by water pollution is through
diseases while drinking the water. Scientists have found over "five hundred different types of
diseases" that can affect humans. (Book). These diseases get into the water streams by human and
animal wastes. The diseases in the water can often lead to death for humans. Recent research has
shown that that each year

The Pros And Cons Of Pollution
Chapter 1: Pollution
Look at any ecosystem and there could be multiple forms of contamination–streams full of toxic
chemicals from industrial processes, rivers overloaded with nutrients from farms, trash blowing
away from landfills, city skies covered in smog. Even landscapes that appear pristine can experience
the effects of pollution sources located hundreds or thousands of miles away.
Pollution may muddy landscapes, poison soils and waterways, or kill plants and animals. Humans
are also regularly harmed by pollution. Long–term exposure to air pollution, for example, can lead to
chronic respiratory disease, lung cancer and other diseases. Toxic chemicals that accumulate in top
predators can make some species unsafe to eat.
Water Pollution
Our rivers, lakes, and oceans aren't unlimited sources that can handle whatever we take out or dump
in. Litter in the world's oceans comes from many sources, including containers that fall off ships
during storms, trash that washes off city streets into rivers that lead into the sea, and waste from
landfills that blows into streams or directly into the ocean. Once in the ocean, this debris may
degrade slowly and persist for years, traveling the currents, accumulating in large patches and
washing up on beaches.
Land Pollution
Use of pesticides and fertilizers on farms has increased by 26–fold over the past 50 years, fueling
increases in crop production globally. But there have been serious environmental consequences.

Persuasive Essay On Ocean Pollution
There are four named oceans in the world: Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, and Arctic. Roughly 70% of the
earth's oxygen is produced by marine plants and only 27% by rainforests. Over 80% of ocean
pollution comes from land based activity. This activity can include, but is not limited to, burning oil
and not recycling plastics. With knowing those statistics, people should undoubtedly be more
concerned with our ocean's health and well being than what they currently are. Yes, there are a
copious amount of websites that accept donations but there are other ways that do not involve
breaking the bank to save and protect the oceans. By using reusable plastics, reducing our carbon
footprint, and buying ocean–friendly products and food, the oceans dying process could not
completely stop, but slow down drastically.
The numbers of how much plastic and trash that are dumped into our oceans every year are
sickening. According to Julie Mailto (2017) from her website Plastic Oceans, "More than 8
million tons of plastic are dumped into our oceans every year" (para. 1). Plastic debris in oceans
affect more than just simply ocean plants. Around 250 species of ocean animals are affected and
are known to suffer from the consequences of severe plastic pollution. Reusable plastics are a
great alternative to single use plastics. By using refillable water bottles the amount of plastic
waste could be drastically decreased. Not using plastic straws, silverware, and sandwich bags
could also lessen the effect of waste in our oceans. Recycling is the best way to cut back on how
much debris ends up in the water. I have been recycling since I can remember. If people got paid
to recycle then everyone would without question. I believe recycling should be a law in our state
because it already is in other states and has been shown to reduce waste pollution so I believe it
needs to be implicated in ours.
Minding your carbon footprint does not involve never driving a car, boat, or anything that involves
gas again; it just means limiting it. Earth naturally releases carbon dioxide into the ground which
help keep the it warm. Natural CO2 plays a large role in many key biological processes, like
photosynthesis, which helps plants create oxygen for us

In a broader term environment means everything that surrounds us. It includes living or biotic life,
e.g. plants and animals and non–living or biotic components like air, water and soil. Environmental
pollution refers to degradation of air and water by mixing of harmful and undesirable pollutants in
them.
Today, pollution has become the biggest global problem because it has grown in magnitude and
threatens to endanger all life on the living planet. As a matter of fact the gravity of situation created
by pollution worldwide has been voiced at many national and international levels by various
dignitaries and organisations to emphasise the need to realise the problem in all its seriousness and
take whatever measures necessary in all earnest....show more content...
As trees are natural purifiers of air, deforestation worsens the problem of pollution.
With the development of trade and business there has been a corresponding increase in the
transportation system. With the building up of vast network of roads in almost every country, the
number of vehicles has increased many times. Buses, trucks, cars, two–wheelers, and many other
types of vehicles that run on petrol or diesel give out huge quantity of smoke in the air every day.
These smokes contain many harmful chemicals and vitiate the air. Big cities have been the most
affected by air pollution because of presence of large number vehicles. The air in the metropolitan
cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai is so much polluted that many people suffer from
diseases like asthma, cancer, eye burning, skin rashes, etc. Another major cause of air pollution is
the burning of wood and coal in household for cooking. The LPG gas is available in cities and
towns. In rural areas, wood, coal and kerosene are the only source to make fire and cook food. The
rural hearths are therefore another cause of air pollution. The problem is worsened with the fact that
trees are being cut to get fire

Essay about Pollution
Pollution
Pollution is the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment. It is a major
problem in America and as well as the world. Pollution not only damages the environment, but
damages us also. It has cause many problems ranging from lung cancer to the greenhouse effect. It
is all among us but we continue to live in our own filth. What is the reason behind this flawed
logic? In this paper I will examine the problems and solutions for this issue.
Automobiles are undeniable the greatest source of pollution. The noise pollution created by cars is
immense. Another polluting effect of cars is the heat it creates. This heat makes it unpleasant to be
near the car while its running. And of course the most famous...show more content...
American citizens throw away millions of tons of garbage each year, and this trash has to go
somewhere. While there are projects underway to clean and reuse this refuse most of it gets dumped
into huge landfills. These landfills are disgusting festering blisters on our country's landscape. But
people continue to consume and throw away more and more in the name of convenience. As they see
it, when things get old, throw it away and get a new one. They blame the government for the trash
problem, but the truth blame should be placed on themselves.
The last great source of pollution lays in the businesses. Although not common, businesses have been
known to dump their waste products into streams, lakes, and rivers. This may seem like a relatively
small occurrence that really is not your concern, but you're wrong. Each time one of these companies
pollutes there are horrible consequences to pay. Mutations, destroyed ecosystems, and human death
have all occurred as a direct result of illegal dumping. It contaminates our drinking water and soil. It
causes entire communities of humans (not to mention animals) to move on to new places not to
return for at least a century. The pollutants dumped by industry are so concentrated that a single
barrel can destroy an entire lake's ecosystem. Not only do companies dump chemicals, but also hot
water. This hot water kills most life it comes into contact with, but also causes an overgrowth

light pollution Essay
Light pollution happened slowly at first which was several decades ago it was a process that was
hardly noticeable. A light here, a light there, burning way into the dark nighttime realm, helping us
see in the darkness when people all their our beds fast asleep. The process still continues today, with
little thought ever given to what we are stealing away. Our intentions are good but our methods need
adjustment, and they needs to be done immediately. In fact, our methods should have been changed
years ago, but nearly everyone has resisted, perhaps due to a profound lack of awareness. The use of
too many lights at night can cause environmental pollution, known as light pollution. Light pollution

So if a crashing comet was coming towards earth for impact, the astronomers might not get to see it
until it might be too late for the government to do something to destroy it in a safe distance from
earth. But we are lucky that the only time this happened before was in the instance where the comets
were the size of briefcases and they evaporated in the atmosphere, but maybe the next time mankind
might not be so lucky.
So by using only the amount of light we need in different areas, we would be able to properly
manage our light resource and easily solve this problem. This will save towns, its citizens, and its
business owner's lots of money. It will improve the quality of life for everyone who has directed
light unnecessarily beaming into their windows and across their yards at night. It will vastly
improve the safety for all drivers and pedestrians, and it will greatly enhance the nighttime
appearance of people's community's by removing the needless visual clutter and glare that is always
typical of obtrusive outdoor lighting.
There are several types of light pollution, such as glare, the light that blinds and harms our eyes;
light trespass, which is when someone uses a light resource that offends us; clutter, that makes the
objects difficult to see at night; and energy waste. Light pollution is caused by light coming from

Marine Pollution: Causes and Solutions Essay
As the world develops and the human population grows there is more pollution being dumped into
the oceans, causing major problems to marine life and ecosystems. Major causes of marine pollution
involve non–point pollutants, marine garbage, toxic ocean pollutants and sewage disposal in
oceans. From heavy metal poisoning including lead and mercury killing predators such as sharks
and whales, to waste getting trapped in the digestive tracts of marine animals, this essay focuses on
how human interference causes horrifying problems to the marine life, but also how to fix it. It will

reproductive effectiveness of marine animals. Oil spills and the burning of wood and coal can cause
poly–aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which has a negative effect on all wildlife causing genetic

Global Warming
Global warming is a major problem when providing a suitable habitat and lifestyle for ample marine
life. With sea levels rising there are consequences to plant life in coastal wetlands that can not handle
the amount of water being provided. The wetlands are important in their job to protect the species
they contain and for stabilizing coastlines. Storms are increasing in magnitude and severity, causing
the transport of nutrients to marine life to be disturbed. As shores move further inland animals will
have to move and adapt, history has shown how this can decrease populations. In the future both rare
and abundant species could become locally extinct, with rare species on the verge of becoming
totally extinct.
Marine garbage
Another cause of marine pollution is the discarding of garbage into oceans, rivers and dams. The
situation is a major problem causing harm to marine life and ecosystems all over the world. Old

Some ways that plastic enters the marine environment can be through improper waste
management, intentional or accidental dumping and littering near shorelines or at sea, or it
could even be through stormwater runoff carrying them to sea. "Plastics are used in many

in water, which makes plastic debris a very visible part of the marine debris problem."(OR&R's

Sea creatures depend on them for protection, camouflage, as a home, and also for food. Scientists

effects on young coral that can damage their DNA,

Essay about Causes and Effects of Water Pollution
There are many causes for water pollution. The main one is plastics. The reason for that is that
plastics take four hundred and fifty years to decompose in the water. Also many companies use
plastic and people throw it in the waterways. Because water can float and be carried by the wind, it
can cause harm to unsuspecting creatures hundreds of feet from where it was originally dumped.
Such waste includes bags, bottles, cups, straws, cup lids, utensils, six pack holders, cling wrap,
fishing line, bait bags, and floats.
The second highest cause of water pollution is ship waste. Ships used to take much garbage with
them on their ships and dump them. This was very common until the government took action. They

Some of the businesses that contribute to the water pollution are businesses that repair and maintain
motor vehicles, electroplate, operate printing and coping equipment, perform dry cleaning and
laundry services, process photographs, operate labs, involve building and construct roads, provide
pest control, preserve wood, and make Furniture.
Water pollution doesnВ№t just effect humans, it affects are whole ecosystem. Birds and marine
life are affected by it. More than fifty species of birds are known to ingest plastic. When they eat
plastic, they feel full, so some of them die of starvation. Algal blooms are another thing that kills
marine life. Algal blooms are sea scum, whale food, and sea sawdust. Algal blooms are bundles of
fine threads, rusty brown, they have a fishy smell, and are common in
August through December.
Water is our main source of our life. We need it to live, drink, bathe, recreation, manufacturing, and
power. We need water for almost everything, if we don't start cleaning up we will be in big trouble.
Bunches of families dispose of chemicals everyday. It affects us drastically and we depend on it to
be clean.

Persuasive Essay On Pollution
We live in a world that offers so many things to us. A home, food, water, life itself, yet we don 't
take much care of it and are destroying it instead. The presence of pollution has been around for
such a great amount of time now that you would expect us as humans, to start noticing the mass
destruction we are causing and start doing something about it. Glaciers are melting, water levels
are rising, the water and air around is being polluted if it 's not polluted already. There is little
being done to try and stop or at least slow down this fatal event. If we do not start taking care of
our own home, we will soon be left with no home at all, and the only one's we can blame for that, is
ourselves. One of the many things that has been...show more content...
This has been done over and over again throughout the years. All though plastic is biodegradable,
it takes an average of 450 years for it to do so. Some bottles can take up to 1000 years for this to
happen. By that time our planet will not be able to support such thing and will give up on us.
Plastic usually breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces of plastic over the years before it to
fully biodegrade. These tiny pieces of plastic are eaten by so many marine animals that live
around them and every single animal that eats these tiny pieces are affected by it and many times
die. All these tons of plastic don't just disappear or get eaten by the animals though, they
accumulate. The great pacific garbage patch is an example of this happening. This area is around
7 million tons heavy and twice the size of texas, it can also get 9 feet deep. Facts say that there is 6
times more plastic than plankton. In case you didn 't know, plankton is the main food for many
animals living in the ocean, from small fish to the great whale shark depend on plankton to stay alive.
The great coral reef is an example of what the pollution in the ocean can do. The great barrier reef
is considered the largest living thing in the whole world. All though it's considered pretty young, it
is around 500,000 years old. The reef is located off the coast of Northeastern Australia. Every part
of the reef takes a couple of thousands of years to be formed. It is one of many beauties that nature

Pollution is Destroying Our Planet Essay
The Earth is a beautiful place to live in, it's amazing how many things we take for granted.
When you can't be bothered leaving your bed, you don't think about the experiences you can have
in this world. You don't take notice of the true beauty it brings, instead you overlook it and all you
see is cold mornings and school. But what if one day you wake up and it's all gone? Then you
would have wished you appreciated it more. You never realise how much you take for granted until
you've lost it. Pollution is destroying our planet, through our air, water and land. When will you
realise how much your planet does for you?
Above all, air pollution is threatening all life on earth. Most of air pollution we cause results from

Waterways are in serious danger of environmental catastrophe as a result of industrial waste and
domestic rubbish. Everything living thing depends on water for life.
Pollution affects marine life and freshwater animals. Factories built on the banks of estuaries
have been found dumping residue and waste in waterways. Poisons and other toxins have leaked
into the banks destroying species of native and endangered flora and causing outbreaks of disease
within these plants. Similar to this has been the impact on the habitats of waterborne creatures
interrupting delicate ecosystems and leading to the starvation and death of fish species. The flow
on the effect of diseased estuaries can be found in oceans where the food sources of large fish
species are being depleted. The impact of waste is compounded by the dumping of domestic
rubbish. Plastic bags, aluminium, tin and other rubbish that is an eyesore, becomes an ideal
breeding ground for dangerous bacteria that can cause disease. Did you know there is such thing as
a pacific garbage patch?
In late 1997 there was a discovery of a new continent that exists between the Hawaiian
Islands and the coast of California. This continent which is approximately two times the size of
Texas is not one that is comprised by land. Disturbingly it is a result of an estimated 3.5 million tons
of floating plastic garbage that continuously circles in

Essay Writing Pollution

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Pollution Your day has been great so far. You went on vacation, you found a dollar bill on the floor, you ate your favorite dish, nothing can be better than this. As soon as you walk on the boardwalk you are hoping to see big waves and fish in the sea, instead, you see dead fish and some animals floating in the water next to old car tires, trash, and fertilizer. Now you feel terrible and want to go home. Pollution is devastating. The reason why I researched this topic is that I do not want my family nor my planet to get sick. Pollution can be stopped very easily, it's just that people "don't know" how to stop or they just don't care, which is a serious problem. I want people to see that pollution is mainly caused by humans, and also for them to see that it is a horrible thing that is happening. Some kids litter because they see their parents and their whole family doing it. When I was researching this topic, I noticed that I needed to find out more information, so I asked questions to myself. When did pollution get so bad? How many animals have gone extinct because of pollution? How many people die each year because of pollution? How much does everyone on the planet pollute each year? What is the best way to stop pollution? Can just one person make a difference? After a lot of research, I found out lots of ways that we can stop pollution, so it is possible to end it. Or at least improve the air. Pollution is caused by people littering, throwing their trash everywhere, wasting energy, and burning fuel from vehicles. Pollution effects all animals and plants from around the world. It can harm them and kill them. Some animals have gone extinct because of pollution, thanks to humans. To be exact, over 11 species of animals have gone extinct because of pollution, Not to mention people have died too! How much? Well, about 6.5 million people have mainly because of respiratory problems (lung cancer caused by air pollution) . Yea, its really bad. Pollution has been around for a long time in the U.S since the mid–19 centuries. It got worse because of the industrial revolution. This caused the air and water to become polluted because of all of the manufacturing factories, which uses coal for their factories and threw their waste Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Essay about Pollution Pollution has become a major issue over the years because it contaminates the Earth's environment and affects human health. While some environmental pollution is a result of natural causes such as volcanic eruptions, most is caused by human activities. The increase of various types of pollution has made cancer pollutant more prevalent among the people, raising the risk of getting cancer. After being exposed to theses pollutants, the effects may be immediate or delayed. Some of the delayed effects, due to the exposure, can go unnoticed for many years. Another major issue thatpollution creates is the tremendous cost for preventing and cleaning it up. However, we can not regulate the pollutants to the extent where there are no more possible...show more content... One possible way to control the carcinogenic pollutant is to get a bill passed by Congress, which makes it mandatory for industrial places to reduce the amount of pollution they create. By reducing the amount of pollution production, the exposure level of the carcinogenic pollutant will decrease. This law enforces the industrial companies to establish new methods and strategies to create their products with less pollution distribution in the end. As another preventive measure, there are products available to the population that contains carcinogenic elements that can be taken off the market until they are redesigned and approved by the government. One last effort to regulate the cancer pollutant is to increase the funds for research so that we can have a better understanding of cancer and how to cure it. Consequently, we can create better drugs available to the population, which can decrease the chances of people, with cancer, from dying. Now that we have the regulations into effect, the next thing to do is determine appropriate levels of exposure and the risk level. However, this raises the question of how do determine what a human life is worth. There is no conclusive answer to this question, so we have to take risks. If we take the total number of deaths that occur every year in the world or a particular country and divide that by the number deaths Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Abstract On Environmental Pollution Abstract Environmental pollution is anything that can cause harm to the environment. Pollution is any undesired alteration of the environment and is often caused by human activities (Mader, 2016, pg. 552). Types of human pollution would be air, water, soil, radioactive, thermal, noise, and light. Each of these forms of pollution has been known to cause the enormous amount of concern for the environment. There are laws in place now that are limiting pollution and to help control the issue. Environmental pollution is a serious problem we are facing globally. It is the debate concerning pollution, which we have been pondering for the past century. Prior to the industrial revolution, scientists thought that the atmosphere was untouched by man–made pollutants until they found air bubbles hidden in the core of Greenland's ice shelf (Stromberg). After finding this essential development, scientist began to reconsider the initial cause of pollution and how to decrease the lasting effects of it. With this discovery, pollution was traced back to Ancient Rome and it was decided that globally we needed a new approach for dealing with this problem. There are numerous types of pollution and they each have a devastating effect on the global climate. A scientist has been working on ways to re–direct the negative effects of pollution and at the same time encourage people to try to find ways to do that part to help with this effort. We all can find some way to improve the world and decrease pollution. The problems with air pollution seem to be one of the largest most discussed situations. The Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) air pollution is the release of pollutants into the air that is damaging human health and world. There are many forms of air pollution and smog and soot are two of them. These two are discussed more when dissecting this problem due to them being the most common forms of air position, which are also the most detrimental of them all. When the sunlight and emissions from fossil fuels interact that is how smog is created. The creation of soot formed from smoke, dust, allergens and other particles are spread throughout the air in gas or solid form. Methane is also a huge component of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Ocean Pollution Essay Everything in this world we use comes from the ocean in some way. The air we breathe, the water we drink, even the products we use day to day, would not be possible without the ocean. That's why the issue of ocean pollution is so important and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. We depend on the ocean for so much in our life, without it we would surely become extinct. People seem to think that since the ocean is so large and vast, we can dump as much waste as we'd like into it and it will never have an effect on us. However, since we've been polluting the ocean as far back as Roman times, the evidence of ocean pollution becoming a major problem is all too clear. There are many different ways the ocean can become polluted....show more content... Fishnets improperly discarded into the ocean can also cause major issues, tangling into unsuspecting mammals and fish. According to the Marin Academy's Oceanography website, there are over 46,000 pieces of plastic floating in each square mile of ocean off the Northeast coast of the United States, which contributes to the death of 100,000 marine mammals and two millions sea birds yearly. A way you wouldn't expect pollution to be caused is by noise. The pressure from the sounds omitted by ships, sonar devices, oil rigs, and earthquakes can disrupt communication, hunting, migration, and reproduction patterns from many marine animals like whales and dolphins. This can throw the whole system off balance. Air pollution can also cause ocean pollution by being absorbed into the water and contaminating it, and vice versa. Ocean pollution can eventually cause air pollution. Dirt can also spill into waterways from top soil or silt from fields or construction sites, causing endangerment to fish and wildlife habitats. Out of all of these ways, oil spills can cause a noticeably excessive amount of damage to the ocean. Although only 12% of the oil entering the sea is caused by spills, they can deteriorate ocean life and environment more than any other pollution. One gallon of used oil spilled into the ocean, which contains toxic chemicals and heavy metals severely dangerous to the micro–organism at the base of the food chain, can cause an eight–acre layer Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Water is important to the human body. As we not only depend on it to live it helps our cells to function properly. Not having clean water can hinder our development but can affect our organs as well.As that being said low income communities in Australia will most likely have less access to clean water as opposed to those who are of high income. What is usually classified as pollution, what kind of pollution is present in the world, and what the people are doing to deal with this pollution issue in the world. There are several problems with world pollution that are associated with global warming and include waste disposal, water pollution, and air pollution. "The problem of exposure to hazardous materials remains, except that it is spread over a wider area" (Newton). Illegal waste disposal is also another reason that contributes to world pollution. It may be defined as the improper disposal of waste at any site other than a regularly licensed landfill or other facility. Usually this kind of disposal is done because people are unaware of the law and are unwilling to take the time or refuse to pay the costs for properly disposing materials, or are in possession of toxic materials that may cause legal problems. (Watts) "Illegal waste dumping ranges from being a simple nuisance to a serious health hazard and often occur in isolated or desolate places. In the United States, illegal waste dumping is often thought of as a local problem; however, the motives and types of people who engage in it–including multinational corporations, criminal syndicates, and individuals–persist throughout the world" (Watts). The dangers of disposing of waste illegally are often unknown by some corporations or even ignored. By not getting rid of waste properly it encourages more dumping, so a small problem may rapidly become a major hazard. Another danger is the health risks posed by the type of material being discarded. Dangerous materials commonly dumped illegally include such medical wastes as used syringes Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In Beijing the chemical reaction they have is Sulfur Dioxide, Ozone, and Carbon Monoxide. One of the chemical reaction of the air pollution in Beijing, is Sulfur Dioxide and this is one the reason because of their coal industry. Sulfur dioxide can cause people to have a hard time breathing if you inhaled too much. • 8. Proposal Essay On Pollution Proposal Essay Suneet Mahajan Western Governors University WGU Student ID #000704510 Pollution refers to impurity into the environment of particles which has harmful effect on health. There are many forms of pollution, like air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution which impact health and environment. High air pollution level is responsible for health issues in Delhi. Over the last few years, the level of pollution has changed significantly in India and specifically in Delhi.Due to increased traffic on roads, traffic movement is slow which forces vehicles to move in lower speed which reduces efficiency and emission level increases. Another cause of vehicular pollution is increase in number of diesel vehicles, which is also a major contributor to air pollution. According to Department of Transport of Delhi, there are more than 7.6 million vehicles on National Capital region and which grows at a target rate of 14% per annum. Due to air pollution people are suffering from Lung and heart disease. In addition to 7.6 million registered vehicles of Delhi and equal number of vehicles enter Delhi everyday which add to air pollution. In order to control Vehicular pollution, we have to adopt and implement stringent steps to reduce the vehicular pollution. The feasible solutions to control pollution is to reduce the number of vehicles on roads by introducing concept of odd/even rule for playing the vehicles, ban on registration of diesel cars which is major source of vehicular pollution, introduction of CNG (Combined National GAS) for taxis coming in delhi these steps will reduce vehicular pollution and help people to breath clean air. In order to reduce the congestion of road, the proposal is to apply odd/even rule for playing the vehicles wherein vehicles with odd number registration plates will run on odd dates and vehicles with even number registration plates will run on Even dates. This will be applicable between 8 AM to 8 PM and will result into challan but no compounding of Vehicles. This rule will be applicable to all the government Vehicles and vehicles coming out of Delhi. Most of our nation's waterways are in terrible condition because of the pollution in the water. Water pollution not only can cause illnesses, but also deaths for humans. Humans aren't the only thing that water pollution causes harm to. It is also hurting our ecosystem. Humans are the leading cause of most water pollution. We keep throwing wastes into the water making the water unsafe for humans to drink. Scientists are coming up with ways for humans to decrease the amount of wastes they are putting in the water. These chemicals are getting in the water through the sewage pipes leading into the water. This not only harms the water, but also the organisms inside the water. Water pollution isn't just hurting the environment, but also costing Americans money. Instead of drinking water from the faucets, people are buying more expensive types of bottled water. Since most people are buying expensive bottles of water, this is going to cost them more money. "Water pollution is costing the government, facilities, and Americans nearly $4.3 billion" ("Freshwater Pollution Cost $4.3 Billion"). These pollutants can cause harmful effects on us humans. Water pollution impacts how humans and other living organisms live their life. Most common way humans are effected by water pollution is through diseases while drinking the water. • 10. The Pros And Cons Of Pollution Chapter 1: Pollution Look at any ecosystem and there could be multiple forms of contamination–streams full of toxic chemicals from industrial processes, rivers overloaded with nutrients from farms, trash blowing away from landfills, city skies covered in smog. Even landscapes that appear pristine can experience the effects of pollution sources located hundreds or thousands of miles away. Pollution may muddy landscapes, poison soils and waterways, or kill plants and animals. Humans are also regularly harmed by pollution. Long–term exposure to air pollution, for example, can lead to chronic respiratory disease, lung cancer and other diseases. Toxic chemicals that accumulate in top predators can make some species unsafe to eat. Water Pollution Our rivers, lakes, and oceans aren't unlimited sources that can handle whatever we take out or dump in. Litter in the world's oceans comes from many sources, including containers that fall off ships during storms, trash that washes off city streets into rivers that lead into the sea, and waste from landfills that blows into streams or directly into the ocean. Once in the ocean, this debris may degrade slowly and persist for years, traveling the currents, accumulating in large patches and washing up on beaches. Land Pollution Use of pesticides and fertilizers on farms has increased by 26–fold over the past 50 years, fueling increases in crop production globally. But there have been serious environmental consequences. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Roughly 70% of the earth's oxygen is produced by marine plants and only 27% by rainforests. Over 80% of ocean pollution comes from land based activity. This activity can include, but is not limited to, burning oil and not recycling plastics. With knowing those statistics, people should undoubtedly be more concerned with our ocean's health and well being than what they currently are. Yes, there are a copious amount of websites that accept donations but there are other ways that do not involve breaking the bank to save and protect the oceans. By using reusable plastics, reducing our carbon footprint, and buying ocean–friendly products and food, the oceans dying process could not completely stop, but slow down drastically. The numbers of how much plastic and trash that are dumped into our oceans every year are sickening. According to Julie Mailto (2017) from her website Plastic Oceans, "More than 8 million tons of plastic are dumped into our oceans every year" (para. 1). Plastic debris in oceans affect more than just simply ocean plants. Around 250 species of ocean animals are affected and are known to suffer from the consequences of severe plastic pollution. Reusable plastics are a great alternative to single use plastics. By using refillable water bottles the amount of plastic waste could be drastically decreased. Not using plastic straws, silverware, and sandwich bags could also lessen the effect of waste in our oceans. Recycling is the best way to cut back on how much debris ends up in the water. I have been recycling since I can remember. If people got paid to recycle then everyone would without question. I believe recycling should be a law in our state because it already is in other states and has been shown to reduce waste pollution so I believe it needs to be implicated in ours. Minding your carbon footprint does not involve never driving a car, boat, or anything that involves gas again; it just means limiting it. Earth naturally releases carbon dioxide into the ground which help keep the it warm. Natural CO2 plays a large role in many key biological processes, like photosynthesis, which helps plants create oxygen for us Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. In a broader term environment means everything that surrounds us. It includes living or biotic life, e.g. plants and animals and non–living or biotic components like air, water and soil. Environmental pollution refers to degradation of air and water by mixing of harmful and undesirable pollutants in them. Today, pollution has become the biggest global problem because it has grown in magnitude and threatens to endanger all life on the living planet. As a matter of fact the gravity of situation created by pollution worldwide has been voiced at many national and international levels by various dignitaries and organisations to emphasise the need to realise the problem in all its seriousness and take whatever measures necessary in all earnest....show more content... As trees are natural purifiers of air, deforestation worsens the problem of pollution. With the development of trade and business there has been a corresponding increase in the transportation system. With the building up of vast network of roads in almost every country, the number of vehicles has increased many times. Buses, trucks, cars, two–wheelers, and many other types of vehicles that run on petrol or diesel give out huge quantity of smoke in the air every day. These smokes contain many harmful chemicals and vitiate the air. Big cities have been the most affected by air pollution because of presence of large number vehicles. The air in the metropolitan cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai is so much polluted that many people suffer from diseases like asthma, cancer, eye burning, skin rashes, etc. Another major cause of air pollution is the burning of wood and coal in household for cooking. The LPG gas is available in cities and towns. In rural areas, wood, coal and kerosene are the only source to make fire and cook food. The rural hearths are therefore another cause of air pollution. The problem is worsened with the fact that trees are being cut to get fire Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Essay about Pollution Pollution Pollution is the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment. It is a major problem in America and as well as the world. Pollution not only damages the environment, but damages us also. It has cause many problems ranging from lung cancer to the greenhouse effect. It is all among us but we continue to live in our own filth. What is the reason behind this flawed logic? In this paper I will examine the problems and solutions for this issue. Automobiles are undeniable the greatest source of pollution. The noise pollution created by cars is immense. Another polluting effect of cars is the heat it creates. This heat makes it unpleasant to be near the car while its running. And of course the most famous...show more content... American citizens throw away millions of tons of garbage each year, and this trash has to go somewhere. While there are projects underway to clean and reuse this refuse most of it gets dumped into huge landfills. These landfills are disgusting festering blisters on our country's landscape. But people continue to consume and throw away more and more in the name of convenience. As they see it, when things get old, throw it away and get a new one. They blame the government for the trash problem, but the truth blame should be placed on themselves. The last great source of pollution lays in the businesses. Although not common, businesses have been known to dump their waste products into streams, lakes, and rivers. This may seem like a relatively small occurrence that really is not your concern, but you're wrong. Each time one of these companies pollutes there are horrible consequences to pay. Mutations, destroyed ecosystems, and human death have all occurred as a direct result of illegal dumping. It contaminates our drinking water and soil. It causes entire communities of humans (not to mention animals) to move on to new places not to return for at least a century. The pollutants dumped by industry are so concentrated that a single barrel can destroy an entire lake's ecosystem. Not only do companies dump chemicals, but also hot water. This hot water kills most life it comes into contact with, but also causes an overgrowth Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. light pollution Essay Light pollution happened slowly at first which was several decades ago it was a process that was hardly noticeable. A light here, a light there, burning way into the dark nighttime realm, helping us see in the darkness when people all their our beds fast asleep. The process still continues today, with little thought ever given to what we are stealing away. Our intentions are good but our methods need adjustment, and they needs to be done immediately. In fact, our methods should have been changed years ago, but nearly everyone has resisted, perhaps due to a profound lack of awareness. The use of too many lights at night can cause environmental pollution, known as light pollution. Light pollution can block our ability to see the original...show more content... So if a crashing comet was coming towards earth for impact, the astronomers might not get to see it until it might be too late for the government to do something to destroy it in a safe distance from earth. But we are lucky that the only time this happened before was in the instance where the comets were the size of briefcases and they evaporated in the atmosphere, but maybe the next time mankind might not be so lucky. So by using only the amount of light we need in different areas, we would be able to properly manage our light resource and easily solve this problem. This will save towns, its citizens, and its business owner's lots of money. It will improve the quality of life for everyone who has directed light unnecessarily beaming into their windows and across their yards at night. It will vastly improve the safety for all drivers and pedestrians, and it will greatly enhance the nighttime appearance of people's community's by removing the needless visual clutter and glare that is always typical of obtrusive outdoor lighting. There are several types of light pollution, such as glare, the light that blinds and harms our eyes; light trespass, which is when someone uses a light resource that offends us; clutter, that makes the objects difficult to see at night; and energy waste. Light pollution is caused by light coming from improperly designed street and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Marine Pollution: Causes and Solutions Essay As the world develops and the human population grows there is more pollution being dumped into the oceans, causing major problems to marine life and ecosystems. Major causes of marine pollution involve non–point pollutants, marine garbage, toxic ocean pollutants and sewage disposal in oceans. From heavy metal poisoning including lead and mercury killing predators such as sharks and whales, to waste getting trapped in the digestive tracts of marine animals, this essay focuses on how human interference causes horrifying problems to the marine life, but also how to fix it. It will also explore the normal activities of people including farming and how this can cause an imbalance in an ecosystem. Everyday activities can cause massive nutrient...show more content... PCB's (polychlorinated biphenyls) and dioxins have been in focus recently as there are concerns that the different structures are appearing to mimic the effects of female oestrogenic hormones. (Gray 1996) These chemicals can cause genetic chromosomal problems and major concerns to the reproductive effectiveness of marine animals. Oil spills and the burning of wood and coal can cause poly–aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which has a negative effect on all wildlife causing genetic abnormalities. (EMCBTAP–ENVIS Newsletter 2002). Global Warming Global warming is a major problem when providing a suitable habitat and lifestyle for ample marine life. With sea levels rising there are consequences to plant life in coastal wetlands that can not handle the amount of water being provided. The wetlands are important in their job to protect the species they contain and for stabilizing coastlines. Storms are increasing in magnitude and severity, causing the transport of nutrients to marine life to be disturbed. As shores move further inland animals will have to move and adapt, history has shown how this can decrease populations. In the future both rare and abundant species could become locally extinct, with rare species on the verge of becoming totally extinct. Marine garbage Another cause of marine pollution is the discarding of garbage into oceans, rivers and dams. The situation is a major problem causing harm to marine life and ecosystems all over the world. Old Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Some ways that plastic enters the marine environment can be through improper waste management, intentional or accidental dumping and littering near shorelines or at sea, or it could even be through stormwater runoff carrying them to sea. "Plastics are used in many aspects of daily life and are a big part of our waste stream. Many plastics are colorful and will float in water, which makes plastic debris a very visible part of the marine debris problem."(OR&R's Marine Debris)". Plastic is used by humans everyday because it is in mostly everything. From phones to water bottles to your toothbrush. Plastic comes in many colors and can easily seen floating on the water's surface. That means that it is even easier for fish to see and be mistaken for food. Coral reef destruction is a big deal. There are many environmental threats on coral reefs which means they are slowly dying. Coral reefs play a very important part in marine ecosystems. Sea creatures depend on them for protection, camouflage, as a home, and also for food. Scientists believe this could be from natural causes like erosion, and global warming as reasons that coral reefs die off but one of the main reasons is pollution. There are many different ways pollution can affect coral reefs. There is a chemical in sunscreen called oxybenzone that may be contributing to the destruction of coral reefs as swimmers are trying to protect their skin. This chemical has toxic effects on young coral that can damage their DNA, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Essay about Causes and Effects of Water Pollution There are many causes for water pollution. The main one is plastics. The reason for that is that plastics take four hundred and fifty years to decompose in the water. Also many companies use plastic and people throw it in the waterways. Because water can float and be carried by the wind, it can cause harm to unsuspecting creatures hundreds of feet from where it was originally dumped. Such waste includes bags, bottles, cups, straws, cup lids, utensils, six pack holders, cling wrap, fishing line, bait bags, and floats. The second highest cause of water pollution is ship waste. Ships used to take much garbage with them on their ships and dump them. This was very common until the government took action. They were giving sailors...show more content... Water pollution doesnВ№t just effect humans, it affects are whole ecosystem. Birds and marine life are affected by it. More than fifty species of birds are known to ingest plastic. When they eat plastic, they feel full, so some of them die of starvation. Algal blooms are another thing that kills marine life. Algal blooms are sea scum, whale food, and sea sawdust. Algal blooms are bundles of fine threads, rusty brown, they have a fishy smell, and are common in August through December. Water is our main source of our life. We need it to live, drink, bathe, recreation, manufacturing, and power. We need water for almost everything, if we don't start cleaning up we will be in big trouble. Bunches of families dispose of chemicals everyday. It affects us drastically and we depend on it to be clean. Right now the government is fining people for illegal dumping. But that is all the government is doing. People in cities are organizing water pollution groups. A lot of people are producing fliers and giving them out. • 19. Persuasive Essay On Pollution We live in a world that offers so many things to us. A home, food, water, life itself, yet we don 't take much care of it and are destroying it instead. The presence of pollution has been around for such a great amount of time now that you would expect us as humans, to start noticing the mass destruction we are causing and start doing something about it. Glaciers are melting, water levels are rising, the water and air around is being polluted if it 's not polluted already. There is little being done to try and stop or at least slow down this fatal event. If we do not start taking care of our own home, we will soon be left with no home at all, and the only one's we can blame for that, is ourselves. One of the many things that has been...show more content... This has been done over and over again throughout the years. All though plastic is biodegradable, it takes an average of 450 years for it to do so. Some bottles can take up to 1000 years for this to happen. By that time our planet will not be able to support such thing and will give up on us. Plastic usually breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces of plastic over the years before it to fully biodegrade. These tiny pieces of plastic are eaten by so many marine animals that live around them and every single animal that eats these tiny pieces are affected by it and many times die. All these tons of plastic don't just disappear or get eaten by the animals though, they accumulate. The great pacific garbage patch is an example of this happening. This area is around 7 million tons heavy and twice the size of texas, it can also get 9 feet deep. Facts say that there is 6 times more plastic than plankton. In case you didn 't know, plankton is the main food for many animals living in the ocean, from small fish to the great whale shark depend on plankton to stay alive. The great coral reef is an example of what the pollution in the ocean can do. The great barrier reef is considered the largest living thing in the whole world. All though it's considered pretty young, it is around 500,000 years old. The reef is located off the coast of Northeastern Australia. Every part of the reef takes a couple of thousands of years to be formed. It is one of many beauties that nature has to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Waterways are in serious danger of environmental catastrophe as a result of industrial waste and domestic rubbish. Everything living thing depends on water for life. Pollution affects marine life and freshwater animals. Factories built on the banks of estuaries have been found dumping residue and waste in waterways. Poisons and other toxins have leaked into the banks destroying species of native and endangered flora and causing outbreaks of disease within these plants. Similar to this has been the impact on the habitats of waterborne creatures interrupting delicate ecosystems and leading to the starvation and death of fish species. The flow on the effect of diseased estuaries can be found in oceans where the food sources of large fish species are being depleted. The impact of waste is compounded by the dumping of domestic rubbish. Plastic bags, aluminium, tin and other rubbish that is an eyesore, becomes an ideal breeding ground for dangerous bacteria that can cause disease. Did you know there is such thing as a pacific garbage patch? In late 1997 there was a discovery of a new continent that exists between the Hawaiian Islands and the coast of California. This continent which is approximately two times the size of Texas is not one that is comprised by land.
