They introduced the first mobile phones in the 1980s, which differed significantly from modern smartphones. Mobile technology advanced through 1G analog signal phones in the 1980s, 2G digital phones in the 1990s, 3G data-enabled phones in the 2000s, and 4G high-speed data services launched globally in 2008 and in India in 2010. 5G, which is up to 10 times faster than 4G, began launching in India and other countries around 2020 with speeds up to 2.5Gbps.
