Obesity is a growing global health problem, with over 2.1 billion people worldwide now considered obese. Deaths from obesity-related heart disease in India are projected to increase 61% by 2020. Three out of four urban Indians are overweight, and obesity rates have been rising sharply over the past two decades according to an analysis of global obesity trends. While awareness of obesity and its links to diseases is increasing, many Indians still lack knowledge about unhealthy diets and health risks of excess weight.
