Planned activities:
2015/2016 TARGET, language trainers, at this time preparations are being made and
a team is formed to start in Maastricht with a new kind of language training institute
called TARGET.
This institute differs from other language training programs, because of its very strong
emphasis on focused practice instead of general theory: limit yourself strictly to train a
student, solely to reach his target, and nothing else! This means a limited use of theory
and a lot of one on one practice: one teacher one student. Every training session is
tailor-made.
Origin of the idea: Marc Daenen has given for more than 20 years Dutch and English
Language and culture training, in the USA, China, Indonesia and Japan. In Cologne he
has trained many German students, and in Maastricht literally dozens of nationalities at
Maastricht University. He has set up a format to train students which is both effective
and efficient, and not unimportant: affordable for a student. Time consuming matter is,
at this time, the recruitment process of good teachers/trainers: a combination of a great
deal of experience and the right mindset is an absolute necessity and difficult to find.
Work experience:
2005 - July 2009: Marc Daenen’s major task is to internationalize a business-school in
Cologne, Germany, in the function of Director of International Cooperation. (www.
Cbs-edu.de). With his two teams of German staff members he cooperated both on the
development of new programs, fit for international students, as well as the marketing of
the newly developed programs.

Daenen. Nine major agreements have been signed with highly competitive universities all
over the world, in particular the United States, China and Indonesia. These agreements
facilitate student and faculty mobility The new programs which were developed are so
called double degree programs, in paricular:3+1 (top up) programs, 2+2 programs , and
so called Sandwich programs. Furthermore Marc Daenen set up various new summer
