Several would agree that innovation is a source for prosperity but who is really getting involved for
change? How can we really develop a culture of innovation in our organization?
Selection of ideas

Make it easier to get ideas funded.

Adopt a more positive attitude toward investing
in new ideas;
Development

Invest enough ressources to finish new project
on time.

Involve managers who have traction developing
new businesses;
Diffusion of ideas

Increase speed to roll out new products and
businesses.

Increase access to innovative communication
networks worldwide;

Penetrate all possible channels, customer
groups, and regions with your products and
services.
Idea Generation

Develop a culture helping people to put forward
new ideas;

Help people in your unit to come up with very
good ideas on their own;
Cross-pollination

Involve team members from different units or
subsidiaries to generate new ideas.

Help people to collaborate among businesses
on projects across units, businesses or
subsidiaries;
External sourcing

Encourage adoption of ideas for new products
and businesses coming from outside the
organization

Consider ideas from outside as valuable as
those invented within;

  • 1. For a culture of innovation and action Pierre.Dumas@multi-city.org Several would agree that innovation is a source for prosperity but who is really getting involved for change? How can we really develop a culture of innovation in our organization? Selection of ideas  Make it easier to get ideas funded.  Adopt a more positive attitude toward investing in new ideas; Development  Invest enough ressources to finish new project on time.  Involve managers who have traction developing new businesses; Diffusion of ideas  Increase speed to roll out new products and businesses.  Increase access to innovative communication networks worldwide;  Penetrate all possible channels, customer groups, and regions with your products and services. Idea Generation  Develop a culture helping people to put forward new ideas;  Help people in your unit to come up with very good ideas on their own; Cross-pollination  Involve team members from different units or subsidiaries to generate new ideas.  Help people to collaborate among businesses on projects across units, businesses or subsidiaries; External sourcing  Encourage adoption of ideas for new products and businesses coming from outside the organization  Consider ideas from outside as valuable as those invented within; Ref: The Innovation Value Chain, from Morten T.
