I would like to take this opportunity to express our satisfaction and appreciation for the virtual radiology
reporting services rendered by Pivotal Teleradiology (Mumbai).
World Health Partners (WHP) is a non-profit society based in Delhi with headquarters in San Francisco,
USA. Under the initiative “Ananya”, which is a large health project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation in cooperation with the Government of Bihar, WHP is engaging a large network of rural
private providers in Bihar to improve health care delivery in 4 infectious disease areas: TB, kala azar,
childhood pneumonia and diarrhea.
As part of our TB programming in rural Bihar, we are working to improve the diagnostic utility of chest
radiography films that are easily obtained in rural areas, yet which are rarely reported by qualified
radiologists, if at all. Through the efficient, high-quality radiology reporting services offered through
Pivotal Teleradiology, plain film images transmitted from rural telemedicine centres are being reported
successfully and TB-infected patients are thereby getting registered for the treatment they need.
As our rural telemedicine centres link patients with city-based doctors for a broad range of primary and
preventative care services, we may receive reporting requests for imaging beyond chest radiography.
We anticipate such avenues opening up in the near future, and look forward to ongoing collaboration
with your company for virtual reporting of chest plain films that makes a real difference in TB diagnosis.
