Some awareness does modify behavior (show picture of a shark, bear, ..)
Smoking kills. Drinking ruins your brain and liver. A plant based diet saves the planet.
But what about the stuff like Afghanistan war, 120,000,000 orphans, 38,000 people dying of starvation, Christians kill Muslims, Christians kill Hindus, Christian kills Jews. We know this is happening but we DO NOTHING.

Keeston and I had the best conversation about courage as I was driving him to the airport after winter break – I said I think that real courage is when someone risks their, comfort zone, social standing, acceptance to do what they know in their heart is right. Please close your eyes (chocolate handed out) Stand up shake it a bit and sit down, with your back strait and close your eyes - we are going to meditate for a minute then chat about culture, action, virtue ad living a principled lifeSo lets think about this idea of Courage and peace..we know that habits take less energy than forgoing our habits - if our habit is to ignore our influence on the oworld - do we use drugs, drink, eat foods that are unhealthy for the environment, watch as other treat people, themselves or the environment poorly? Are we an example of "Doing the right thing?" pause pause = But are we a person that spreads joy, is peace, is happy, sees the good in all . In the Buddhist tradition the greatest gift you can give is a smile - a simple sincere smile - and also in that tradition SUFFERING EXISTS So we have something to do…sp lets meditate for a minute - just breath and feel the wonderful air going into your lungs , feel the woarmth of those around you - realize that nearly every breath you take contains an atom that every person who ever lived has breathed…IF chocolate meditation do the rest as chocolate mediation..Super long pause …Who will I smile at tomorrow ?Who will I smile at and say "howzit" to that I cant stand and listen intently to their suffering…St Fransis said "sometimes when I preach I use words" tomorrow Will I cease every opportunity to be an example of "Doing the right thing"Long pause breathe peace - rub your hands together to make them warm and put them on your face and open your eyes into your hands so you don’t get a bright light headache -
My goal now is to inspire peace FULL people to take an active engaged roll in helping to end suffering ignorance and be lights of truth going forward…So what keeps me going - I am a dummy (just ask my kids and wife) and I used to carry some things in my pocket to . SO lets chat about what causes us to not BE IT- to not bee as Gahndi says “Be the change you want in the world” I think it has to do with how we were raised and our ability to change our stars by rechanneling our energy towards Being Peace
Lets chat about Ghosts and addictions – when we were young we might have had parents that trued to “withhold love to get us to be motivated…to do what is right .. we learned that the world was not that great – how were we to know that we would be developmentally programmed to spill, talk to loud, not be able to sit still or sleep on command and not be able quite down on command – and how were our parents to know this? FIRSTit takes work and a commitment to “Be Peace” – it ain’t for sissies. Where we make mistakes as human beings, societies, governments, and companies when we try to over simplify complex subjects – complex problems require complex solutions.
SECONDWe make no progress if we allow ourselves to have a feeling of even a hint of VICTIMHOOD – Buddha story of the arrow ….
