  1. Hi my name is Philippa and I am here today to convince you that my ideas for a new magazine fit your brief and present the best solution for your organisations needs.
  2. My magazine is about Genre-Fitness magazine that shows you different exercises to tone, sculpt, build muscle and loose weight. The magazine focuses on different routines from high to low intensity for males and females to improve their fitness levels and physique. Magazine Targets- Males and Females 16-24 years, students at uni, work or full time education. USP- magazine is affordable £2.50, suitable for the student lifestyle as it includes promotion codes and offers for fitness center's and sporting activities, resembles the young TA of the local area as it focuses on exercises suited for the age group, magazine for both males and females there's no magazine like it as the title ‘fusion’ means there fused into one magazine.
  3. Here is my brief I’ve been given by the Northern Echo to follow to ensure I create an appropriate magazine for the Target audience.
  4. Clients Aims- The primary target audience of my product is males and females aged 16-24 years old

How was Northern Echo affected content?- I needed to take into consideration what images and language I used throughout my magazine as the secondary target audience of the fitness magazine is Northern Echo reader’s aged 45+ who wouldn’t want to read or see anything offensive such as naked or sexual imagery as this would limit the people who would buy the magazine. TA- When creating my magazine I needed to ensure that the articles I wrote about are relevant to the age 16-24, socio economic D-C2 of the TA. I needed to include local articles, businesses and companies around the North East. Imagery- Local AdvertisingThe Northern Echo uses local advertisement which I will need to include throughout my magazine and I will need to make sure that the article content is regional rather than national so the TA can relate to the articles. In my magazine I have made sure I have used local advertisement to promote businesses and to gain a profit as my magazine is mainly going to rely of advertising. TA- When creating my magazine I needed to ensure that the articles I wrote about are relevant to the age 16-24, socio economic D-C2 of the TA. I needed to include local articles, businesses and companies around the North East. Imagery-didn’t include offensive imagery (nude, sexual images) appeals to the TA use of Bright vibrant colours(orange, blue, yellow,white,green) to motivate the reader’s especially used on the HIIT article where I took imagery at the gym. Language-no inappropriate language such as swear words or racist phrases which may offend or upset the reader. Use vocab relevant to the genre of the magazine fitness. Production Schedule- had a time scale to follow in order to complete aspects of my magazine quickly and on time to meet the Northern Echo Deadline set by Peter Baron. Production standards need to be of the highest using professional software formats such as In design and Photoshop. Newsquest- Consider that Newsquest owns 33% of the Northern Echo and their profits. Weighing up the finance options I need to get local companies to advertise in my magazine and sell my magazine for a fair and competive price £2.50 to gain maximum profit. Distribution numbers- Northern Sells 30,000 copies per day and I want to distribute 10,000 half of the crack because ive created a budget magazine. Relationship with its readers- Loving relationship as it caters for all readers and reader interests. Community spirit use local businesses fitness providers not just focusing on big companies ‘Nike’. Attitude- Concerning and caring attitude towards the reader’s focuses on up to date news/information Stories Northern Echo Champion- Local hero stories, local businesses and events that have just re opened or special events in the local area.

Genre- Fitness because I believe there’s a gap in the market for the magazine as there’s no fitness magazine which incorporates both genders into one magazine. different from Mens health and Women’s health magazine as they have 2 separate editions for each gender and its not just focused on fitness theres horoscopes, gossip and celebrities inside the magazine. Whereas the magazine I am creating is unique as its just focused on fitness exercises. Influenced ideas- I have undertaken extensive research by analysing 2 different magazines which were a fashion magazine called Marie Claire and a fitness magazine called Men’s health magazine where I compared two Double page spreads by analysing the language use, layout, imagery and sell lines. From the analysis I like various parts of the Men’s health magazine such as the colour scheme which is a very distinctive and recognisable and is a representation of how their magazine is branded. I’ve carried through this aspect of the DPS into my own magazine to create a clear and specific brand image/identity. From the Men’s health magazine I liked the simplistic layout used and how they bring colour into the article by the use of imagery and font which contrasts against the stark white background.   7. My primary target audience of my magazine is students and young adults aged 16-24 years old as I creating a magazine that is suitable for the TA by making it visually appealing and interesting to read.

Achieve- I want to achieve a unique magazine that appeals to the TA that informs and educates them of different exercises and routines you can do at he gym and at home in order to improve their bodies appearance by either losing body fat or gaining muscle. The magazine will achieve a multi functional purpose as it appeals to both genders and a wide range of audience as it can educate beginners and continue to inform experts. Clients aims-
