Britain faces challenges in using labour and natural resources efficiently. Developing a circular economy could help address these challenges by creating more jobs while using resources more sustainably. Calculations suggest the circular economy could reduce unemployment by around 54,000-102,000 people by 2030 and offset losses in skilled jobs. Transitioning to a circular model involves major industrial changes but could generate significant employment opportunities, especially in regions and occupations with higher unemployment.
