The district hospital located in Weaverville, CA has 25 acute care beds, 25 skilled nursing beds,
a 24 hour emergency room and operating room that provides many services including general
surgical procedures, endoscopies, colonoscopies, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, CT, and
ultrasound, physical therapy, telemedicine and home health. The district also has two full
service rural health designated walk-in clinics, located in Weaverville and Hayfork.
Chief Nursing Officer (2015-Present)
The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for the overall direction of patient care services,
ensuring optimal quality patient care is provided, the best use of staffing resources and strategic
planning for all inpatient care services and programs. Accountable for all nursing standards of
care and practice, and is the primary clinical recourses for hospital administrative decisions,
under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer. Serves as an advocate for professional
nursing excellence, providing advice, support, cooperation and collaboration both internally

Director of Inpatient Medical-Surgical and Oncology Services (2008 - 2015)
Responsible for daily operations & budgetary control of four Medical-Surgical units; Medical
Acute, Post Surgical Acute, Oncology Acute and The Center for Joint and Spine Health.
Oversight includes a total of 88-beds and 147 employees. Responsibilities include payroll,
scheduling, quality audits, service recovery, patient satisfaction, productivity, and various other
budgetary responsibilities. The combined gross patient revenue total around $74,800,000 with a
combined total net operating expense budget of $11,100,000. Ensure that satisfactory employee
and union relations are maintained; thus providing for a suitable environment for effective
quality nursing care.

• Successfully lead my units through multiple accreditation surveys including; Three CMS
full validation surveys in 2014, two in 2011, two MERP surveys, and three Joint
Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organization surveys.
• I lead the Oncology Service line through two College of Surgeons Cancer Accreditation
Surveys which we passed with accommodations both times.
• I have reduced the PACU hold time to less than 30 minute daily average. This has a had
a positive financial and patient satisfaction impact.

skills and developing a strong orientation with a mentoring component.
