This document provides instructions for using a set of squares to draw parallel and perpendicular lines and for using a compass and parallel lines to copy symmetrical figures. The instructions include placing the squares in certain positions and orientations to draw lines, drawing perpendicular lines through points on a figure to its axis of symmetry, placing the compass point on the intersection of these lines with the axis to transfer distances and create the mirror image half of the symmetrical figure. The final step recommends cutting out the figure and folding along the axis of symmetry to check the accuracy of the construction.

1. Put the hypotenuse of the 45º square over the line.
2. Put the hypotenuse of the 30º square on one of the
cathetus of the 45º square.
3. Hold the 30º square tight and move the 45º square
until the right place.
4. Draw the parallel line on the hypotenuse of the 45º
square.

1. Put the set of squares as if you were going to make
parallel lines.
2. Turn the 45º square to stand on the other cathetus.
3. Hold the 30º square tight and move the 45º square
until the right place.
4. Draw the perpendicular line on the hypotenuse of the
45º square.

Given half a figure and its symmetry axis, draw the
other half:
1. Draw perpendicular lines to the axis throwgh the
most important points of the figure
2. Point with the compass on the intersection of the
parallel line and the axis
3. Open the compass to the point on the figure
4. Turn the compass and draw an arc on the parallel line
