4. GLOBAL ECONOMY
PRESENTATION TITLE 2/11/20XX 4
"The recovery remains very uneven, with strikingly different outcomes across countries," the OECD said in its interim
economic outlook.
Global gross domestic product has surpassed its pre-pandemic level following last year's COVID-induced recession.
Global output is now expected to expand by 5.7 percent this year, down 0.1 percentage points from the organization's
previous forecast in May.
But the outlook for 2022 has slightly improved, with 4.5% growth now expected, up by 0.1 points.
"Output and employment gaps remain in many countries, particularly in emerging-market and developing economies
where vaccination rates are low," the report said.
The OECD lowered its growth outlook for the United States from 6.9 to 6.0% this year. The US Congressional Budget
Office has forecast 6.7% growth for the world's top economy.

10. BLOG – HOW BEST TO IDENTIFY CLIMATE RISKS
WITH PORTFOLIOS
Synopsis
Both the public and private sectors continue look at ways to mitigate climate risk as it relates to their asset holdings.
What is climate risk and stress testing?
he European Central Bank is stress testing the broader economy to assess the economic risk of climate change three
decades into the future, the bank's vice president said on Thursday.
While full results of the test, which includes four million companies worldwide and almost all euro zone banks, will
be published in mid-2021, early results show there is a clear benefit to early action, Luis de Guindos said.

11. FARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE
PRESENTATION TITLE 2/11/20XX 11
Blog - Robot farmers could improve jobs and help fight climate change – if they’re developed responsibly
Farming robots that can move autonomously in an open field or greenhouse promise a cleaner, safer agricultural
future. But there are also potential downsides, from the loss of much-needed jobs to the safety of those working
alongside the robots.
To ensure that the use of autonomous robots on farms creates more benefits than losses, a process of responsible
development is required. Society as a whole needs to be involved in setting the trajectories for future farming.

12. FOREST
FIRES
• Climate change is raising average global
temperatures, bringing with it longer droughts,
with cascading effects for forests and
wildfires. These impacts are highly place-
dependent — they are determined by the
ecology an ecosystem and its history of
disturbance, like wildfires, insect outbreaks or
logging.

13. HYDROGEN
PRESENTATION TITLE 2/11/20XX 13
Blog - Why green hydrogen — but not grey — could help solve climate change.
Hydrogen can be burned like any other fuel in cars, ships, and airplanes, but because it does not contain
carbon, it will not produce CO2 emissions. More importantly, it can also power fuel cells that convert
hydrogen into clean electricity directly. This feature will trigger a revolution in portable, urban, and
autonomous power over long distances.
Challenges to widespread hydrogen adoption include the lack of a refueling and distribution
infrastructure, embryonic and evolving safety standards, and high costs. Most of these challenges are
being addressed as the number and scale of demonstration projects increases.

better urban planning, and Innovation credits.

about-european-activity-7065732151991812098-

Talking with executives at American companies across the country, they are focusing on the upcoming
SEC climate disclosure requirements, and rightfully so. The new environmental, social and governance
(ESG) standards have dominated headlines and countless hours of preparation have been devoted to
getting organizations properly positioned. However, an equally significant set of regulations across the
pond could also have a profound impact and similarly compel urgent action. It is the European Union’s
Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and despite the vast number of American
businesses in scope for the CSRD with little time to prepare.
Given the estimated 50,000 companies the CSRD will ensnare – compared to the 11,000 in scope for the
EU’s current Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) – the CSRD is an entirely different, far bigger
animal that will catch many American companies off-guard unless they start preparing soon.
https://www.bhpioneer.com/why-u-s-companies-should-care-about-european-esg-reporting-
regulations/article_e71c65ad-cf00-5404-ba88-ad47551c88fd.html
Key to working with ESG and Sustainability standards is about driving the right policies including how to
capture data as part of getting to net zero.
It is also important to break out the regulatory filing from the operational planning and forecasting
cycle. Budgeting cycle will include ESG policies as part of the overall integrated business planning and
reporting model.
