Paul: Thank youso much,Katherine.How are youtoday?
Katherine: I am absolutelywonderful andenjoyingthatspringisrightaroundthe corner.I want to
jumprightintothe bestleadership.How doesthataffectyourorganization?
Paul: Well,Ithinkit'sprettycommonamong all organizations.The leadershipiskeytothe
successof the organization.Ibelievethe employeesorassociates,theyreflectthe
example setbythe leadersandsoitreallyhasto start at the topand trickle downtothe
people thatare actuallyprovidingthe services.
We believe stronglyinthat.I've mentionedinpriorinterviewsthatwe inheriteda
goldenrule whenitcomestoour organizationandmanagementstyle.Treatothersas
youwouldwantto be treatedyourself.We tryto show nothingbutrespectandtreat
our employeeswithdignity.Like Isay,it'sgot to start at the topand be consistent.If
there'sanyissueswiththatat any level inthe chainof commandup or down,it'sdealt
with.We want people thatare insync withourvaluesandmoralsand culture.
Katherine: Absolutely,absolutely.Thatleadsusrightto my nextquestionforyou.Youdohave to
have strongleadership like yousaidandtheyhave tobelieve inthe core valuesof the
businesssothattheyare able todemonstrate that forthose that are down the chain
underthemfor.How importantiscommunicationinall of this?
Paul: Well,that'slike inanyhumanendeavororrelationship,communicationisparamount.
Whetheritbe betweenfamilymembersorhusbandandwife,it'sthe same inbusiness.
You reallyneedtohave anopen,transparentcommunicationwitheverybodyinthe
organization.We donewslettersandwe have routine regularmeetingswhere we tryto
keepeverybodyup-to-date onwhat'sgoingonwiththe company.It'sveryimportantI
believe,communication.
Katherine: Absolutelyanddefinitelykeepanythingfromfallinginbetweenthe cracksand going
unnoticed.Now,one of the thingsIwantto know because we've hadmanyinterviews
togetherandyouprovide differentservicesatdifferentlevelsfordifferentneeds.How
didyou withthisorganizationdetermine whentoaddwhat or didyoudo it all the time
inthe beginning?
Paul: We basicallyhave grownthroughacquisitionof existingfacilities.Whateverthe services
that were beingprovidedatthe existingfacilities,we continued.We've definitely
enhancedandtweakedsome of the services.Whenwe hadourlarge acquisitionin
2012, that was vettedtothe home healthbusiness.Before thatwe were eitherskilled

nursingfacilitiesorseniorhousinglike assistedliving.Now we dohome healthalso.As
far as at each location,
we've triedtocome up with niche programslike we hadmentionedbeforelikethe
ventilatorprogramsthatwe do inour Minnesotafacilitiesandwe have some traumatic
braininjuryprograms.We have post-acute cardiacrehab programsand those have been
developedovertime bykeepingourfingeronthe pulse,seeingwhat'sneededinthat
particularmarket.We work withthe local hospitalsandsee whatkindof servicesthey
may require,whatkindof specialtyservices.Aswe workwiththemandtheytell us
whattheyneedthenwe will provide thoseservices.
Katherine: Okayand that's absolutelykey,findingyourpartnershipinthe communitysoit'snotjust
withinthe fourwallsof yourorganization.Thankyouforsharingthat.One last question
and I'm justcurious.Isthere anythingnew onthe horizonforWelcovthisyear?
Paul: We hada fewacquisitionsthatare slatedtobe completedIthinkinthe nextthree to
fourmonths.Nobig acquisitions.It'sjustkindof a continuationof ourgoal to further
refine ourexistingservicesand systemsandsoI wouldn'tsaythere'sanythingbig.It's
justcontinuingtoimprove ourexistingoperationsandperformance.
Katherine: Okayand in thatdo you foresee acquiringanynew servicesthatyoudon'talready
provide?
Paul: No,I don't think anythingsignificant.The acquisitionsthatwe're lookingatare skilled
nursingfacilitiesthatare verysimilartothe oneswe're operatingnow.
Katherine: That you alreadyhave.Okay.Idefinitelywantedtotalkbusiness.Ilove talkingbusiness,
aboutthe businesstopicsbecauseIbelieve somethingsare justgeneral tobusinesses
all aroundand that our audience coulddefinitelybenefitinwhateverindustrytheyare
