2. Contd..
Some of the pitches remind you of
the Bruce Springsteen track ‘57
Channels (And Nothin’ On)’. If you
can’t dazzle with your brilliance, at
least don’t obfuscate with irrelevant
numbers, please.
3. Contd..
Create an idea that’ll suit my brand.
Don’t ask us to change our brand
positioning so it fits your idea.
4. Contd..
There are two types of agencies that
pitch to you. One who tell you —
“These are the accounts we’ve
recently won.” And the second (rare
ones) talk about the clients they
haven’t lost in many years.
5. Contd..
Though senior managers are directors in everyday
life, for that one hour of a pitch, I want you to be
the actor on my brand and not just its director. It
should come across that you’ve immersed
yourself deep into my brand and consumer insight
and know it like you have yourself lived it and not
just through your team or juniors.
6. Contd..
It’s a big put off when an agency
starts throwing technical jargon at
you. Your job is to simplify things to
us. If we can’t comprehend what
you’re offering, how will that ever
help your case?
7. Contd..
Try and avoid taking fresh recruits to
a pitch. Clients look for the agency’s
cultural values in each team member
and they are hard to come by in a
new joinee.
