http://www.Eng3Corp.com - Stress and chronic disorders reflected in Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) – a powerful diagnostic tool HRV analysis is a straightforward, quick and non-invasive diagnostic procedure which is scientifically
based and recognized. “If a superordinate system controls and regulates subordinate
systems, the operational state of
the superordinate system is the most important parameter for diagnosing disorders!”
What is significant and unique about HRV analysis is its ability to display quickly, in a completely painfree, non-invasive and meaningful manner, the autonomic nervous system’s (ANS) capacity to regulate.
Classification of Cardiac Arrhythmia using WT, HRV, and Fuzzy C-Means ClusteringCSCJournals
The classification of the electrocardiogram registration into different pathologies disease devises is a complex pattern recognition task. In this paper, we propose a generic feature extraction for classification of ECG arrhythmias using a fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering and Heart Rate variability (HRV). The traditional methods of diagnosis and classification present some inconveniences; seen that the precision of credit note one diagnosis exact depends on the cardiologist experience and the rate concentration. Due to the high mortality rate of heart diseases, early detection and precise discrimination of ECG arrhythmia is essential for the treatment of patients. During the recording of ECG signal, different forms of noise can be superimposed in the useful signal. The pre-treatment of ECG imposes the suppression of these perturbation signals. The row date is preprocessed, normalized and then data points are clustered using FCM technique. In this work, four different structures, FCM-HRV, PCM-HRV, FCMC-HRV and FPCM-HRV are formed by using heart rate variability technique and fuzzy c-means clustering. In addition, FCM-HRV is the new method proposed for classification of ECG. This paper presents a comparative study of the classification accuracy of ECG signals by using these four structures for computationally efficient diagnosis. The ECG signals taken from MIT-BIH ECG database are used in training to classify 4 different arrhythmias (Atrial Fibrillation Termination). All of the structures are tested by using the same ECG records. The test results suggest that FCMC-HRV structure can generalize better and is faster than the other structures.
Heart rate variability (HRV) is the physiological phenomenon of variation in the time interval between heartbeats. It is measured by the variation in the beat-to-beat interval.
Other terms used include: "cycle length variability", "RR variability" (where R is a point corresponding to the peak of the QRS complex of the ECG wave; and RR is the interval between successive Rs), and "heart period variability".
See also Heart rate turbulence, Sinus rhythm.
Methods used to detect beats include: ECG, blood pressure, ballistocardiograms,[1][2] and the pulse wave signal derived from a photoplethysmograph (PPG). ECG is considered superior because it provides a clear waveform, which makes it easier to exclude heartbeats not originating in the sinoatrial node. The term "NN" is used in place of RR to emphasize the fact that the processed beats are "normal" beats.

Mastering Wealth: A Path to Financial FreedomFatimaMary4
### Understanding Wealth: A Comprehensive Guide
Wealth is a multifaceted concept that extends beyond mere financial assets. It encompasses a range of elements including money, investments, property, and other valuable resources. However, true wealth also includes non-material aspects such as health, relationships, and personal fulfillment. This guide delves into the various dimensions of wealth, exploring how it can be created, sustained, and enjoyed.
#### Defining Wealth
Traditionally, wealth is defined as the abundance of valuable resources or material possessions. It includes financial assets like cash, savings, stocks, bonds, and real estate. However, a broader understanding of wealth considers factors such as personal well-being, emotional health, social connections, and intellectual growth. This holistic view recognizes that true wealth is not solely about accumulating money but also about enhancing one's quality of life.
#### The Importance of Financial Wealth
Financial wealth remains a critical component of overall wealth. It provides security, freedom, and the ability to pursue opportunities. Key elements of financial wealth include:
1. **Savings**: Money set aside for future use. It is crucial for emergencies, large purchases, and financial goals.
2. **Investments**: Assets purchased with the expectation that they will generate income or appreciate over time. Common investments include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and businesses.
3. **Income**: Regular earnings from work, investments, or other sources. Consistent income is essential for maintaining and growing wealth.
4. **Debt Management**: Effectively managing debt ensures that it does not erode financial wealth. This includes paying off high-interest debt and using credit wisely.
#### Creating Wealth
Creating wealth involves generating and accumulating financial and non-financial resources. The process can be broken down into several key strategies:
1. Education and Skill Development: Investing in education and skills enhances earning potential. Higher education, professional certifications, and continuous learning can lead to better job opportunities and higher salaries.
2. Entrepreneurship: Starting and running a successful business can be a significant source of wealth. Entrepreneurship requires innovation, risk-taking, and effective management.
3. Investing: Making smart investments is essential for wealth creation. This involves understanding different types of investments, assessing risks, and making informed decisions. Diversifying investments can reduce risk and increase potential returns.
4. Saving and Budgeting: Effective saving and budgeting help accumulate wealth over time. Setting financial goals, creating a budget, and sticking to it are foundational steps in wealth creation.
5. Real Estate: Investing in property can provide rental income and capital appreciation. Real estate is a tangible asset that can hedge against inflation
New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
