Daedalus and Icarus is a story about a man named Daedalus who fashioned wings out of feathers and wax for himself and his son Icarus so they could escape from their prison on the island of Crete by flying over the sea. Despite being warned by his father not to fly too close to the sun, Icarus soared higher and higher and the heat from the sun melted the wax on his wings, causing him to fall into the sea and drown. The story warns of the dangers of excessive pride or arrogance.
