project. The development phase of your concept
should therefore not be put aside because it is
decisive for the future. Frédéric Mazzella,
founder of Blablacar, understands that patience
is essential when you want to get started in
entrepreneurship.

3. Intro
It all started during his studies in California where he
discovered carpooling. There are much less
congested routes there, dedicated to vehicles that
transport more than one person: the "carpool lanes".

4. Launch his Own carpooling startup
Back in France, he wanted to return to Vendée with his family for
Christmas. He tries to take a train, but all are full and he finds no
place to go home. Disappointed, he then decides to seek
carpooling, but there too, impossible.
It’s at this very moment that the entrepreneur in him wakes up.
Everything becomes crystal clear: he wants to launch his
carpooling transport startup.

5. The idea
The idea is simple but it
has to mature. The founder
will then work every
evening and weekends on
his concept, in parallel with
his studies. It was only two
years after he decided to
join the European Institute
of Business Administration
in order to professionalize
his project.

6. But Frédéric Mazzella will not be in full time on
the subject until two years later, with his partner
Francis Nappez. It was therefore 4 long years
before they devoted themselves entirely to
Blablacar!

7. What is certain is that this past
time has not been in vain.
According to the Professional
Marketing webzine, the
company's growth is currently
growing by 150% per year.

8. Blablacar is present in no less than 10 countries
around the world. According to Madyness, a
fundraising of more than 21 million euros has just
been carried out to continue to develop abroad.
The company has therefore not finished growing
and increasing its capital.
