 Recent world events have shown that now more than ever, people need an alternative to traditional
employment. In recent years, direct selling has become a popular profession in many emerging
economies where mainstream income opportunities are scarce and getting started as an
entrepreneur is not easy.
 However, this pandemic has shown that the direct selling industry is not just resilient, it is also quick
to adapt to a changing world.
 The rise of virtual business meetings, product presentations, training programmes and even
conferences with hundreds of thousands of people shows how quickly companies like QNET have
adapted to the new normal.
 As we enter a new era of business, we are also conscious of a changing world with evolving tastes,
fast-changing trends and with technology at the centre of it all.

QNET (Quest Network) is a prominent e-commerce direct selling company that harnesses
the power of technology to provide customers around the world with access to unique high-
quality products and services, while giving them the opportunity to build a sales business by
promoting these products.
In 1998, QNET pioneered the e-commerce revolution in the direct selling industry, building
a borderless business that helped connect people, products, and communities.
Through the years, QNET has delivered on its promise of helping many individuals write
their success stories with us. Our life-enhancing products and unique business opportunity
have helped people around the world make healthier choices and take charge of their lives

4. WHAT IS DIRECT
SELLING?
 In simple terms, direct selling refers to a growing and exciting industry that
provides companies an alternative channel for the distribution and sale of
products and/or services directly to customers, away from a traditional
retail location
 The industry uses a variety of distribution methods; multilevel marketing
and network marketing being two of them.
 Direct selling companies are often associated with people drawing charts
on a whiteboard or a piece of paper in the shape of a pyramid. This often
has people referring to companies in this industry as ‘another one of those
pyramids scams’.
 In reality, every profitable and sustainable business model in the world
utilizes a pyramid structure. This simply shows that people should be less
concerned with the shape of the pyramid and more with how it is created
and sustained.

6. UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN A DIRECT SELLING COMPANY AND
PYRAMID SCHEMES
Direct selling companies, unlike pyramid schemes, deliver high-quality, legitimate products and
services and dedicate their resources to finding consumer products that are appealing, useful,
and valuable. Take QNET for instance, a company that offers more than 30 product brands
spread across various categories.
Legitimate direct selling companies have restrictions in their compensation plan. They limit the
number of people who can earn a commission through sales. In a pyramid scheme, there may
be many people involved with distributing products but only the person at the top is likely to see
any income.
Genuine, reputable direct selling companies do not offer commissions based on recruitment.
They reward people for promoting and selling their products. Pyramid schemes typically pay for
member recruitment.
Genuine direct selling companies have proper policies and procedures in place, and a clear code
of ethics. They aim to achieve long-term growth and prosperity by fostering a culture of
professional practices. Pyramid schemes are dishonest by their very definition.

7. BRIEF HISTORY
 In the mid-90s, Vijay Eswaran and joseph ‘Japa’ Bismark, two young men from drastically different
backgrounds, came together in business and friendship. Having found reasonable success in network
marketing with
an American company that was doing extremely well in the Philippines,
the two joined forces and their group, which was called the V team, and consisted of bright, motivated, and
talented men and women, soon became the largest revenue earner for the American company.
 At one point, they realized that the American firm was being dishonest with them and, after all efforts to
rectify the situation failed, the v team and a few of their leaders sat around Vijay's kitchen to discuss the next
steps. About 1,500 people who had believed in the V team leaders had joined the team. What were they
going to tell them? The easy way out was to tell them what the American company owners did and wash
their hands off any culpability.
 However, they did not choose the easy way out. With the fate of thousands of their team members at stake,
and a liability in excess of USD 250,000,
the two young men along with their core team members made a bold and crazy decision to start their own
company, with the sole purpose of looking after the interests of the people that had trusted them and put their
life savings into their hands.
 On that fateful day in September 1998 at the Philippine stock exchange center (formerly tektite towers) in
manila, the Philippines, the company today known as QNET was born.
