A bit about me..
Grew up in Coromandel with exposure to the farming and commercial fishing industry (father’s boat; parents shifting sheep) practical background
BSc at Auckland
On completion of degree
I started working at Air Matters in 2011 after a fortunate conversation with a friend of my flatmate that resulted in a day of shadowing him on site to see what he got up to 9-5 in air testing. This turned into casual then full time employment. I’ve been there for 3 years now and am very lucky to have been awarded a scholarship to attend the occupational hygiene conference in Melbourne later this year.
I thoroughly enjoy being able to carry out practical science that provides
quality, independent and useful data
written into a report for comparison with the WES
advice on appropriate PPE
and suggestions for basic engineering controls to reduce harmful exposure when appropriate.
I also relish the opportunity to get a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes workings of society that is industry.
from wine bottling plants & dairy companies to
recycling centres, paint shops & engineering workshops
