Our group project consists of an exhibition dedicated to university students’ life: “UNIBOOK”.
The basic objective of “UNIBOOK” is to represent the life of students in Bologna from the 1940s to the current times. The Museo Della Storia Di Bologna has been chosen to be the hosting place of the exhibition as it is the biggest urban museum of the city.
The Museum of the History of Bologna represents the life of the city from the foundation of the first settlement to the current times. It is placed in one of the oldest buildings in Bologna dating back to the 14th century. The Museum focus on history and changes of the city life over time; attention is given to both turning points in history and everyday life of citizens. The biggest part of collection is devoted to pre-history, medieval history and history of 17-19 century. Unfortunately though, the modern life of the city seems to be out of the focus and the group of citizens which evidently is underrepresented is that of students, although the city of Bologna is perceived as the symbol of University cities not only in Italy but all over the world.
While planning the project and the concept of the exhibition we always kept in mind the Museums activities to design an exhibition which will perfectly fit in the Hosting Organization. We would like to combine the documentation approach with historical overview and the creative approach. For that purpose the historical part of the exhibition will contain the photos of student life, taken from the archives of the University and the modern part is planned to be formed by images of the current students of Unibo. In the following pages you can find the detailed description of our exhibition.
