Ready For College Essay
Hello Lucy! I hope to gain a greater understanding of how college will be. I hope to be challenged
and learn from an experience like this. The school I go to now, I do not feel pushed academically. I
was searching for summer classes I could take to be ready for college and I stumbled across this
program and I could not be more thrilled to apply.

I-Ready: A Case Study
I walked with them to the library and I helped them with signing onto their I–Ready. A few of them I
had to help and the rest of them knew how to go and sign into their I–Ready without any help. Mrs.
Alluve told them they had to start on Reading first and that is what they did. The assignments they
had to do required earphones so each of the students had their own earphones. While they were
working on their assignments, I walked around to make sure that they were doing what they were
supposed to do and I also wanted to see what their reading assignments were. The students had to
listen to sound of the letter and then find the right word that starts with the letter it told them to

College Readiness Essay
Determining college readiness is an essential part in determining who will qualify as a good
candidate for admission into a college or a university. The last thing that colleges want is for
students to qualify for admission and drop out, this affects drop out rate and graduation rate.
According Robin Chait and Andrea Venezia (2009), to about 83 percent ofhigh school graduates
enroll in some form of postsecondary education, but only about 52 percent of students complete their
degrees. Further, a very small proportion of students complete a degree in four years–"among
students starting at 'four–year' institutions, only 34 percent finish a B.A. in four years, 64 percent
within six years, and 69 percent within eight and a half years."...show more content...
According to David Conley, readiness for college contains four key principles: key cognitive
strategies, key content knowledge, key self management skills, key knowledge about post and
secondary education. Although college readiness can be measured sing ACT andSATscores, which
developed a college readiness benchmarks to see whether a prospective college student has a
high prospect of success in college courses of English, social sciences, Algebra and biology.
However, if your test scores are not meeting the typical benchmarked standard does that truly
determine I you are ready for college. No. One thing we have to take under deep consideration is
that each student is different and some don't test very well. What happens to a child who has a
really good GPA, high determination and a low test score? College recruits deem that these
children are not college ready. College readiness should be measured with a more natural eye,
because some students may not be good in particular subject areas, however, what would be the
likeness of high school students completing and earning a degree in a field that they enjoy. The
nature of humans is to do things that they enjoy, to read stories that they can relate too, to complete
a task that means a lot to them. This is the natural eye that we should look at college readiness with.
How determined and passionate are the students on furthering their education. How

Ready Player One Essay
Ready Player One Essay Ready player one is about a video game that has taken over everyones life.
The holocaust and ready player one is simular because it takes over peoples lives, kills people, and in
the end stops. The oasis was just a video game, and then it turned out to be killing people in real
life. In the holocaust Hitler blamed the jewish people for all there troubles as a country. Ready
player one and holocaust are similar because they take over peoples lives. I know they take over
people lives because, people will spend all of there day playing in the oasis, and in the holocaust
people get taken from there house and relocated to concentration camps. In the Oasis people can go
to school, hangout with friends, and live...show more content...
When Wade wins, he shuts down the oasis because it was turning out to be more then just a game.
People were killing other people in real life just for money, and greed. During the holocaust Hitler,
and Germany would kill Jewish people because they thought the suffering they were going
through as a country was there fault. Then when Hitler was leader he started killing all the Jewish
people in not just his country but other countries as well because he blamed them. As more
people start to die the more people realize what there doing is wrong. "I had absloutly no desire to
log back into the oasis." Wade said that after he got off the oasis he expirenced real life and loved
it. At the end of the war they shut down all of the concentration camps, and all the Jewish people
were free. They also had no desire to go back to the concentration camps. In the end the holocaust
and Ready Player One are very similar. The holocaust and ready player one are similar because it
takes over people lives, kills people, and in the end stops. In the end people realized that Germanys
struggles as a country were not the Jewish people's fault. In the end Wade realizes there is more to
life then being on the Oasis

Are You Ready?
Are You Ready? As a result of the Affordable Health Care Act of 2010 becoming a reality, there is
a growing need for nursing practice to advance. With this in mind, the health care delivery system
is changing and as nurses we need to be ready. Health care will no longer be focused on the disease
but more on the prevention of the disease and health promotion. Who better than nurses to be best
positioned to fill such new and expanded roles as a consequence of this redesigned healthcare
system? With further education we shall be better prepared to deliver safe, equitable,
patient–centered, high quality health care services. Nurses must engage with the physicians as well
as others in and out the medical field to deliver care and assume...show more content...
In requiring nurses to obtain their BSN, it poises them to continue to higher levels of education like
masters and doctoral levels. This helps open the doors for nurses to serve as primary care providers,
nurse researchers, and nurse faculty, and demonstrate "true leadership."
Notable changes that need to be and should be done in nursing lies in educational programs. First,
and foremost, nursing schools need to be better able to accommodate more students. There are many
well–qualified students that simply are unable to attend due to the lack of space. Accordingly, there
is lack of instructors who have the teaching skills for the community based, disease prevention and
public health education, rather than just acute care. Additionally, providing simulation labs in
schools would demonstrate a benefit for learning; it allows the student to perform procedures in a
safe environment and then reflect on those procedures that could be improved on.
Finally, another barrier that could be overcome is diversity in nursing. To better meet the current and
future needs of the public and to provide a more culturally relevant care, we have the need to become
more diverse. It's inevitable. Today's cultural, ethnic and environment requires, demands, and expects
diversity, which should also include more male nurses in the nursing community.
